  • hi, im new to kayaking.im a beguiner.witch kayak do you think i should get?

  • @me53914

You've probably read a great deal already in regards to Sit-IN Vs. Sit-on-top. Personally, I would go with a sit on top. I have both kinds but from experience I think you can do more rigging with a sit on top. Also since you're new, I would highly recommend using craigslist to purchase your first yak. You get more bang for your buck and kayaks are extremely durable even if they're used. Lemme know how it goes!

  • @jonramos4 HEY,just bought my kayak and its used but still good i went fishing the other day and ive been fishing a pond for years and i never got any luck but i went in the middle of the pond and i cought a 5 pound 1 ounce bass!! ;) thanks for the advice.

  • @jonramos4 what part of the wisconsin river was this on? I might have stopped by that dam once or twice. I mostly the wisconsin near Wisconsin Dells.

  • Where abouts are you? I got into kayak fishing this year, bought me a hobie pro angler. Been catch Trout and smallmouth bass, getting use to the PA before I head out to the bays next year. Cool video! Thanks for sharing. I'm looking to do some road trips in the future and was very curious to where you are. My email is sonnys503@yahoo.com. I'm in Portland,OR. Sturgeon and salmon country.

  • @Sonnys503

Glad to hear you gout into the yak fishing. It's the best way to go! I'm out in the chicago area and do my fishing in illinois, wisconsin, and minnesota. That would probably be too big of a trip for ya, but if you ever make it out this way lemme know! Good luck with the yak fishing

  • Peter chao?

  • which camera to use ?, thanks

  • @enzo7878

There are a lot of great waterproof cams out there. I"m definitely partial to the Kodak Sport series. YOu can get a great deal on them via Amazon from time to time. Hope that helps.

  • @enzo7878

I personally own two types. The samsung and the kodak Zx3 and Zx5. The kodak series is my absolute favorite. I know people like the GoPro series but honestly, I don't like the wide angle look. Kind of curves and distorts things too much for me when close up. That's my opinion at least. YOu could probably get a Zx3 for $80 dollars nowadays.

  • its crazy how you catch so many species of fish i alway catch just bass almost any place i go and no matter what lure i use

  • would it be easier just to use a net?

  • @themegajosh09

I usually have both on with me. I actually first just used a net but got a great tip to use the lip grips. They really help in immobilizing the fish.

  • Wow, nice mixed bag with a sturgeon! Entertaining video once again!

  • @kcsichoi22

    Thanks bro!

  • what bait was you using?

    or lure?

  • @themegajosh09

That day I used a lot of different presentations. Gulp on a jig, live bait fished with crawlers for the sturgeon, and mostly used the Xraps the rest of the trip

  • Dude your so awesome kayak fishing is beast

  • cool vid. pike are awesome.

  • what reel/ rod setup do you have

  • @TheMultishooter

The spincast set up was a shimano Symetre on a St. Croix Mojo

  • @1panozzo Hey im from Australia too and i was kinda the same till my mum bought me a viking kayak nemo 3.2m kayak and rod holders and seat witch has served me well in mild to mid seas and esturies i love it for my first lots of room plenty stabel and im 6ft 15 years old and 72kg its great thing for alot of fishing without spending lots of ur dosh at 799 bux but im sure jonramos4 can sugest many others but just incase u wanted an idea messege me on ur choice.

  • hey, i've been keen on fishing for a long time but never really thought about kayak fishing, your vids have got me interested in it :) . i live in australia and thought i might buy a kayak and rig it for fishing, any ideas on a good starter kayak that is under $1000?

  • @1panozzo

I like two main brands but honestly, you can't go wrong with the main lines these days. Since you're going to be fishing out of Australia I would recommend the Hobie Kayak line since you'll be covering a lot of water. They are a little expensive but you can find some good used ones at around $800. I would highly recommend the Ocean Kayak Trident 13 however. Great kayak as far as stability and speed. I know you can find good deals on this yak as well (new and used).

  • @jonramos4 thanks, i ended up getting a mission catch 390 for just under $1000, and that seems to be going alright through waves and rough water , it was already set up with 4 rod holders as well so that was a bonus

  • @1panozzo dont know if you already bought yours or not but any of the wilderness systems tarpon or ride series are great yaks that are very stable and pretty fast. they also have about as much storage as your going to find.

  • cool video..

  • Ran across your vids the other night and they are rock solid man. What did you have rigged up when you caught the channel? It looks like Berkley Gulp minnow rigged weedless on a jig. What are some of your favorite lures/ jig combos? I have had good luck with the Berkley Flicker Shads and the Berkley Gulp 2.5 inch minnows rigged on an 1/8 or 1/4 jig. Always like to get ideas from other Midwest kayak anglers. Great job showing what kayak fishing is all about.

  • @sbrain624

Sorry for the late reply. With winter in full swing I haven't been on as much. It was a Gulp and Jig combo. I swear by that combo lol. As far as lures...I'm a Rapala guy. More specifically the Xraps line. I probably have over 50 of them. They're not too expensive and have some great action. If you ever want to do a trip this year lemme know maybe we can get together and get on some good fish and show people why midwest kayak fishing is awesome!

  • Hey I stumbled across your channel; I was wondering how many kayaks you have? It seems like your in a different one in each video

  • @PSNjizzcake

lol..no...currently have just two. I usually fix up or pimp out a yak for fishing and then sell it so i can keep upgrading. Thanks for asking

  • @PSNjizzcake

lol. no just two now. I do a lot of buying and selling when I want to upgrade.

  • Good job on the video editing are you using and Mac? or PC? btw nice river monsters bro!

  • @DPhams

    Thanks bro! I'm a Mac guy..you?

  • @jonramos4 like said above keep up the vids, entertaining and possibly hold hidden tips for newbies! Might answer questions that someone might not want to ask!

  • Good trip! I am diggin your new ride. is that the 11' or 13' ?

  • @jonnyspeed

    it's the 13'...great kayak bro...

  • Nice fishing!

  • @asianboy9821

Thanks bro! NIce vids as well on your page...keep it up!

  • Sweet man. I see you got a Trident now. I had a Scrambler like yours but traded it in for a Prowler 13.
