  • Noisy.

  • Jack Nicholson presents: The electric bike

  • @jigsaw9919 hahahaha

  • wear a helmet kid!

  • but wait , these motors stop the bike too so if you go down a hill would it stop you going fast? cos then wouldnt you have to turn off the electricity supply and "pedal" it. but then you have to reach back. why didnt they put the power button on the handlebars?

  • YOU CAN GET 'NOISELESS' NOW !

  • Too bad they are not so popular here in Romania . I live at 45 minutes of walking from my college , and there's no bus line i can take to shorten my path , i'd love to ride one of these every morning to college

  • really nice one

  • Yes, Busettii Bikes have the good pedaling system so you can use it as a bike or pedal with the motor. I have one and it runs about 75--85 miles per charge but you can also pedal like a regular bike. Also, it really goes fast even in throttle mode. Check out busettii dot com if you need more info. ciao

  • @maria271011 Stop spamming every E-bike video!

  • @maria271011 Stop spamming!

  • cool some one that has the same bike my dad gave me his and I have to fix it up and to tell you its hard to find motor brushes for it I got some dyson brushes and shaved them down to fit I tried to change the sprocket for more speed but fear burning out th motor so put the ariginal back in I want it to go like crazy fast one day all in all great bike

  • Cool video. Thanks

  • Cool video, great to see one of these e-bikes in action they look fun to ride.. I'm considering buying one myself but there's so many things to consider and different models.. I'm undecided whether to go for a scooter-type bike or a conventional looking bicycle like in your video. I guess with a conventional looking bike it would be safer and there's less chance of being pulled by the cops every 5 minutes.

  • I'm sorry, maybe I missing the point, a bike is made for excersize right, why do you need that electric motor? my legs put out way more power than that motor.

  • @rctrucknut for the sheer hell of it

  • nice bike man!! how much is it? and how long does it last?

  • entonses ya no es una bici

  • that bike is same lake the chines food in new york lol!!!! haha!

  • You sound like a retard. And it's an electric motor. Not an engine.

  • Lol after playing it 2times.. he does sound like the joker.. So funny.. 5 stars for the clean look.. Alot of ebikes look dorky and bulky with bags and other crap attatched to it.. But this one is clean!

  • Please watch:

THE WORLD'S SIMPLEST TRANSMISSION for BICYCLE

  • Charge time 6hours. I weigh over 300 lbs had back and knee surgery. I rode it 12 miles in 46 min pedaled until legs burned rested a bit by burning motor then as soon as I could returned to pedaling. I am in horrible shape but made great time. After 12 miles the battery needs a charge so if your trip was 6 miles flat ground you can round it easily Tows a trailer well w100 lbs of freight. If U R lighter batt will last longer? PS I know I am heavy when I was young I was fit tornado broke my back

  • Add a front motor and a 3 leg rear rack. I have a Mongoose crossway hybrid no motor and could keep up with you.

  • this gives electric a bad image...

  • wow, must be the first electric bike I've seen that actually looks great. So many of them just look horrible.

  • I own one and it's time to change the battery. Is there a way to increase the power?

  • how fast can it go

  • Yo! You sound like the Joker man! Replay the vid and listen...

  • i wouldny get it because its not brushless, ill stick with my motorized bicycle powered by a 52cc engine that goes 40 mph

  • That E-zip motor no?

  • mongoose is a terrible brand.

  • congratulations, youve invented the electric scooter.

  • sounds like a uk milk float

  • Do they have these in 20 inch? Is the seat adjustable?

  • nice music! did it come from a gay porno? ;)

  • @TheRUSSIA69 jajajajajaa funny coment

  • please view the world's simplest transmission for bicycle.

Watch: UNIQUE BIKE CRANK ( 2- SPEED)

  • @TheRUSSIA69 hahaha this kind of music always make me think of its always sunny in philidelphia so i couldnt stop laughing the whole time.

  • @TheRUSSIA69 how is it you know about gay porno music?

  • Brushless hub motor is the way to go. This bike is not the way to go.

  • How fast does it go?

  • ni un brillo!!!

  • It's stupid when u r not pedaling, best solution is when electro-motor is assisting in movement.

  • It does not have an engine, because it does not burn an air-fuel mixture. It has an electric motor and it does not 'burn' electricity.

  • so the new definition of a engine isnt that it produces power but it has to burn stuff?

    right...

  • They call that an electric MOTOR for a reason....

because my professors at MIT would say there's no such thing as an "electric engine".

PS, the definition of "engine" is 200+ years old. A gas "motor" in a car....isn't....it's an ENGINE because it BURNS fuel. BTW, electricity is not a fuel, it is not "burned'....it is merely used as an energy carrier.

This lesson is free, but next time........

  • Jealous huh ...

  • Kindly tell me more info about the motor. Is it brushless? Voltage required?

  • No le encuentro sentido motorizar una bicicleta y mas una Mongoose, se siente muy bien pedalear y andar en ellas.. eso hay que dejarlo para las abuelas ;)

  • Recuperar el espacio q usa un auto.

  • lol love the music ... very appropriate.

  • There's how recharge the batteries when you're cycling or breaking?

Can you put a solar cell to recharge even a little charge?

  • I want this bike.

and i want to know what is the maximun speed?

  • Very cool video! Pleasant background music! Where can I get it? Any more recommendations?

  • Thanks for the ride, but what the battery life on it and how do you charge it up?

  • How many miles will a charge last?

  • so whats the point of it being a bike...?? just get a 4 wheel old lady scooter you can sit on....get off your butt and get some exercise....hahahha

  • cool... how much wouild a bike they way you have it cost?

  • put 65 volts in it and hold on.

  • HOw does the bike do going up on steep hills?

  • It gives you that little extra that keeps from breaking a sweat

  • well

  • at 1:40, you ran a stop sign. bikes have to follow traffic laws as well, you know.

  • awesome background music...what genre is that...I want to have a 3 hour play list worth of that stuff

  • muzak

  • haha, That's Brazilian music. Bossa nova.

  • Beautiful

  • Nice show, we have also an electric cruiser, but it is powered by rear hub motor, I have posted it as a video reply to yours.

    cheers./Louis

  • How does it jump?

  • looks fun :)

  • This bike is very good for $300 new. The bike is extremely heavy and lowend parts, about the quality of a $70 bike at Walmart. The rest of the $300 is in the motor. The battery is NiCad = very heavy. Lithium ion battery bikes starts at $1200.

You can use all motor on flat terrain like a moped, but lessens battery life. Full power + pedaling, the hills feels like a flat road. Max speed is ~18 MPH (verified with GPS and school's track). U can ride this to work and not be all sweaty (somewhat)

  • That is just so awesome!

    I envy you.....

  • I picked up a Mongoose electric bike at Kmart a couple years ago for $90 on clearance and was really amazed at how well that thing moves along.

After 2 years it still works just as good as new.

  • $90?

    Whoa.

    Is it good?

  • So do cars and working at a desk all day !!

  • try a bion x kit far better system

  • i live in a very hilly place, with crude ups and downs. should test this bike at varying degrees up hill

  • Are you happy with it ?, how fast does it go ?Is this Chicago ?

  • electric bike

    bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • my bolg is : lilyebike

  • hello, buddy, if you want have a electric bicycle! you could have a look of my BLOG and site, here have foldable, mountain, ebike!

  • my laptop isn't able to play sound from online video. I will check out this video on another pc when I get the chance. My use for the bike would running wrrands and possibly to and from my job, sound to me couldn't be worse then traffic.

best electric bike for me 1. Optibike OB1 2. new schwin shaft drive front electric motorized wheel mountain bike. Cheap bolt on kit for a mountain bike will do for me . Any used Optibikes out there. New used and condition. Drop me a line:)

  • I find this rather amusing. Most bike enthusiast know you can get a inner tube that can be used to replace a flat tire without taking the tire off. The ideal had been out there since the 40s. It's also funny how it sounds like a attempt to discourage the purchasing this bike so by xmas time there no longer available on line or anywhere on the internet. Buy them all and double your price. This bike and any more like it will be hot items for a long time. I did find one after xmas, $350.

  • How does one fix a flat rear tire on that bike? What do you do when your stranded 5 miles from anywhere? I am a bike assembler mechanic at Walmart for 7 years and for the first time we are selling the mountain bike version, they have the same motor drive system. The manuel doesnt tell how to fix a flat rear tire. Our bike books doesnt say how either. Once you unbolt the back wheel you cant remove it because you cant unplug the power cable or you need special tools to disassemble the drive unit.

  • Well...

I was going to buy one of those but you just discouraged me :(

  • I try to be truthful with my customers, 4 of them came in a month ago and none sold, mostly I think the 398 dollar price scares them away, but thats kinda cheap for an electric bike.

  • cool bike mate, Im getting an electric bike this week and I cant wait

  • i might get one of those for my 43rd birthday im just getting back in to bmx mechanics and i need a way to get to work cause my parents wont drive me so im getting one of these

  • Thats brilliant. Well done mate!

  • dickted, Oz cops aren't warm to anything thats powered, assholes.

Coolyo366, not everyone wants to go 230mph, see the title? The "cruiser" part of the title? You dickhead.

Mario9193, what you didn't change your clothes for 3 days? And you wonder why you have no friends to tell you these things, lol!

  • The police aren't very friendly towards them in Australia. Perhaps they're scared of them.

  • looks cool but i prefer a traditional cruiser bike

  • those handle bars look comfey my friend. i have a KMX kart e bike its fun

  • Perhaps someone that can spell.....

  • If you use the pedals, or in a dowhil, does it help to recharge the batteries???

  • no,it is a cheap drive system,it has a freewheel so it does not recharge while coasting down hill.

  • Hi, just wanted to ask you where is the freewheel? it's on the motor or on the hub?

    Thanks,

    Marcel

  • Rear wheel. The freewheel is mounted on the wheel's hub. Most of them have 7 gears or cogs going from big to small in sequencial order. The second single cog-free wheel is on the motor shaft so the motor won't drag on the bike when theres no power to the motor.

  • Thanks for the reply.

Any idea where I could buy such a hub?

  • The hub is laced in the wheel with the spokes. You can buy a wheel at any bicycle shop with the rim, spokes and hub already assembled.

  • I don't think we're talking about the same thing.

There is a freewheel on the right side (as all the normal bikes) and another one of the left side. The motor doesn't have any freewheel.

I'm looking for a bicycle hub that has a freewheel on the rigth side and another one on the left side, both rotating forward (like the hub found on this bicycle).

  • For a specialized part like that you can call the 1-800 number in the owner's manuel to order it. The only other kind I have seen was a double sided hub on those trick grinder bikes. They are not electric.

  • It's a hybrid, you can pedal it if you want. The electric is just an assist.

  • We got a super fast e-bike

  • WOW let me start off with...that was cool! the bike sounds line and INDY 500 reace car from far away lol. nice!

  • I bought my electric Mongoose (CB24V450) about 3 years ago and have got to say it's been a blast. The ONLY improvement I see in your bike is the fenders. As I was riding to work, I never knew that water splashed and hit my back leaving a nice black streak. Thank God no one told me for 3 days. :(

  • I own the same exact bike. I used to take it everywhere until about a week or so ago wen the nut that hols the motor sprocket on fell off. I managed to find the sprocket but the nut and key are gone. On the bright side, while replacing them I'll be fashioning a solar panel sun shade to supply energy for slow cruising. So hopefully I can send you a vid of my modifications when they're done.

  • In most places this is legal if you can still pedal & it does less then 20 mph.

  • You can buy these in almost every country in the world so hahaha, lazy everyone.

  • i want an electric bike to get to work

  • ooo you didn't stop at the stop sign.

  • In Louisiana it is considered illegal they can really make me hurt if they stop me. With a CDL I could loose my job should I be found guilty of driving a motorized uninsured unregistered vehicle without a helmet.

  • I don't understand why you should be concerned with the police; it's not like a gas-powered bike.

  • Who much is the cost?

  • I got mine for $350usd, but grab an izip with gears for 400

  • very good idia

  • love it

  • lol i like the music.

  • ive herd that no matter how fast you pedal, the motor will keep your speed...is that true???

  • Dude! Is that the noise from the bike or is it you farting?

  • HA! No it's loud, people stare at me all the time as I come down the road.... I consider it a safety mechanism.

  • nice music sounds like you got it offa sex vid

  • It's not about being lazy. It's about finding another way to commute to work. I don't know about you 'clyde', but I for one don't want to show up to work drenched in sweat.

  • There will always be Clyde's out there. This is great you still get exercise, fresh air, and stay pretty sweat free.....

  • hahaha lazy americans.

  • Go Speed Demon!!!

  • way too noisey!!

  • why would you even bother, until they bring in the new technology batteries ile be satisfied, until then im ganna destroy the enviroment with unleaded fuel mates.

  • Look at all the views some of these electric bike video clips are getting? How many of them go a bona fide 27 miles per hour and can go for over 10 miles per charge without pedaling a stroke? The Electric Horse™ does and I have a patent pending that will be approved some time in June. Sad to see all these people wasting $ on ? bikes instead of the answer bike Wiscokiddd: Electric Horse(tm) on you tube!

  • I could do a review if I had a sample, nudge nudge, hint, hint.... :)

  • i have a ques um i jus wanted 2 know if u can ride the bike manually and that will the bike still move if u pedal manually

  • Sure you cam, the bike is heavy though, so I usually "assist" the electric rather than just pedal.

  • LMAO battery pack

  • cool

  • That isn't a problem wal mart sells many varieties of electric bike. The one I should have gotten was the folding electric because I have both the full size bike and the folding bike Had I gotten the folding electric I could take it with me in the truck and would have a range of 5 miles one way and in a truck that is good enough for me. Plus with the electric I could use the trailer I got at WM the trailer can haul 100 lbs all I need is 50.lbs for groceries laundry.

  • I love my mongoose, but pep boys stopped selling them. Yesterday I changed my battery pack. It took two hours!

  • how much is the battery pack?

  • I wouldn't buy the whole pack, just replace the internal sealed lead ones, infact I'd probably upgrade to lithium.

  • Laws vary from state to state my state the law says it is a motor vehicle regardless of the speed. Louisiana. There is a website that tells you the laws from state to state. Google moped state laws you will find that site. Remember ignorance of the law is no exception for if we could claim ignorance we would all claim ignorance.

  • The law states for ANY state, that if it is powered by gas engine it must be registered and you must have a license, that varies from states to state, in florida if its under 40cc you dont need a license, but for ALL states an electric motor requires no license or registration, as it is not considered a true automobile.

  • its battery powered you jackass

  • La.A motorized bicycle shall only be operated upon the roadway of the highways of this state by a person fifteen years of age or older who possesses a valid driver's license with a motorcycle endorsement and shall not be operated upon sidewalks, interstate highways or impede traffic flow.2. No person may operate a moped or motorized bicycle without adhering to laws governing the operation of motorcycle including the wearing of approved eye protectors or a windshield and the wearing of a helmet.

  • MOTORIZED BICYCLE - R.S. 32:1(41) defines as a pedal bicycle which may be propelled by human power or helper motor, or by both, with a motor rated no more than one and one-half brake horsepower, a cylinder capacity not exceeding fifty cubic centimeters, an automatic transmission, and which produces a maximum design speed of no more than twenty-five miles per hour on a flat surface Google MOPED LAWS it is there in black and white. No argument. This bike by La law is illegal to use on the road.

  • About the only way I could fight a ticket is if I have Dr. testimony that I use the bike with a motor b/c of a handicap and the vehicle can be ruled exempt from applicable laws classifying the device as a necessary device for mobility due to handicap aka wheelchair. I have a handicap license/ID and could make that argument. Back surgery and knee surgery have diminished my ability to mobilize consistently under my own power. I have to rest after walking so far due to intense pain.

  • you just contradicted yourself. The law states for ANY state... must have a license... that varies from states to state... you dont need a license.

  • I have to admit in this parish the popo don't bother with bs I have blown an unopposed 4 way stop sign and the popo just shook his finger he knows stoping is bs they have looked hard at my electric bike but never went after me b/c it is bs. But in St.Mary parish they are PIGs not cops they will pop you for anything they can make a buck on. You want a ACLU law suit walk in Morgan City or ride a bike the popo will hassle you just for that. The town has a vagrancy law and almost anyone is Guilty.

  • If it looks like a bike, most cops won't bother. At least here since they have real crime to fight.

  • he ran a stop sign xD

supposed to come to a complete stop =P

  • true dat. in Michigan you're supposed to follow all laws applicable to motor traffic, including stop signs. Cool vid though.

  • Stop signs are a waste of energy :) for cars, bikes, and all movement, they should be banned

  • Can't find the price man.

  • STUPI

  • diabs75??...you aff yer nut!, that bike looks great (apart from the battery!)

  • I have had major back surgery and have gained weight I wanted a way to get to work 12 miles away in urban driving. The bike allows me an out of shape 320lb handicapped man to get there consistently in 50 min time with a 5 min H20 break in the middle. I hooked a trailer to it and can get to wal-mart and back with some 50 lbs of groceries 12 mile round trip. Once back in shape I will use the giant mountain bike as my commuter but I have to undergo the knife one more time knee surgery 3/18/08.

  • There are better electric bikes out there. My goal is to loose 80 lbs by then I could be effective in riding the excellent bike I owned prior to this purchase. This bike was $300 delivered to a walmart and that is good since delivery is a great part of the online cost. Since these are not well known you can't really get a test ride anywhere local. But in a small town this can greatly improve your life. Provided the cops don't cite you for having an unregistered uninsured motor vehicle.

  • My advice is see a cop pedal without the motor. Most cops cruise with windows up in the AC. But this is Louisiana and the police love to let you know you are in a corrupt state. Other states have laws that allow you to use a moped Google moped law and you will see all the different laws out there our nation doesn't care about saving fuel they make money from sales of fuel, insurance, etc. I got this set up as a if too if there is no oil I have the equipment in the shed.

  • I do the same exact thing, see a cop, start pedaling, it's perfectly legal but why bother with any hassles.

  • if it dont go faster than 20 mph then it dont have to be registered.

  • like the idea.. such a shame the bike looks retarded

  • Nice vid. In parts you almost sound like Jack Nicholson ex. "Heres the battery pack"

  • Watch it doesn't burn out on you in 6 months

  • Wow it makes a pretty loud noise...

  • isn't it basicaly a motorcycle with pedals?

  • do you mean an electric motorcycle? or do you mean a pedal/electric hybrid motorcycle that doesn't require gasoline?

  • huh?

  • The only problem I could think of would be with cold weather... I live in Minnesota and it gets really cold and it affects lithium batteries for example if I accidentally leave my mp3 player in my car overnight it will say the battery is dead if it is too cold. Would cold weather affect electric bikes?

  • oh yey what about over here in colorado my electric scooter broke outside i forgot about it
