  • Can you post Pipe band on vido with out music please.

  • @dbty3rha No.

  • Actually there was cadets filmed in it. I know this as i was one of them. As an officer cadet from NUOTC i was happy to at last seen myself on this years video. The younger cadets featured more in last years and we didnt feature at all. Its only 10 mins long and I think you did a very good job of the videos considering. In a few weeks there will be loads more videos on the net, so dont just rely on one video to show the cadets. :-)

  • Can you tell my why the City Pipe band is not on this video please?

  • @dbty3rha A sound problem at my end, I'm afraid. I had digital clipping and distortion so the sound track as the band passed did not do it justice. The clipping seems to have been in the portable mixer I was using and did not show up on the camcorder screen where the camera audio levels seemed fine. A new one for me - I record a lot of pipe bands, usually successfully. I had the same problem with the Fusiliers band where I had to cut at the end of the British Grenadiers. Will sort out for 2011.

  • @dbty3rha I made a video but the quality is not so good

  • in that case, would you be willing to post as a seperate video? i know quite a few of the people marching that day would love to see, as they did last year

  • @km509 I don't think it would work as a video. You really need a band to lead a military parade. The air cadets are excellent (so congratulations if that includes you) as are the sea cadets. A couple of pipers leading you all would have made a big difference, especially for the larger group of army cadets.

  • Quick question..... even though you can have 15 minutes of video on youtube now, i noticed that none of the 150 or so Cadets participating in the parade were shown in this video. is there any reason for this?

Cadets are still members of the forces, they still wear uniform and they still pay their respects to those who have died in conflicts, just like others participating in the parade.

Cadets are the next generation of the armed forces, it is fair they have recognition for their efforts

  • @km509 I agree and apologise to all the cadets for not including any footage this year. It's certainly not due to any lack of respect. I did want to limit the length to 10 minutes (as last year) and the problem was that the cadets did not have a band this year. I have good footage of you all marching along St Mary's Place - but it does not do you justice without music. If you look at last year's video you will see that there was full coverage of all the cadets taking part. Next year?

  • @km509 I agree that cadets should have got some recognition for going against the grain amongst their peers but a remembrance parade is not necessarily the place.. they are not, as you claim, members of the armed forces but infact a sponsored civilian organisation. Remembranbce sunday is about the vets pastr and present and therefore bickering about not having cadets in a youtube video defeats the point
