  • Oh yeah, if a veyron had the same output per liter, it would make 5600 horsepower. To me that makes the motor in this eclipse 5.6 times better.

  • F1 cars gave the same outputs in the 1980's with 1.5L motors, but a few more cylinders. It's impressive that a guy can build a car with the same output and similar size, without an F1 budget. Well done :)

  • Too fast for NHRA??? Last time i checked they had 300 mph dragsters and funny cars. And they claim to be too fast for them? Bruno Massel runs an import in comp eliminator so dont say you're "too fast for NHRA"

  • lets compare shall we? my 4cyl runs high 12's all day, i bought it for 5k and get about 26 mpg.

    if I got a new corvette i wouldve spent about 12x more cash, getting get less mpgs and have a slower car...

    if i got a older mustang i might get it for 3k but a 3k dollar mustang might make it to 14's and get about 12 mpgs

  • @dankebuddha NOT vq, VG30dett, which are bullet proof. i have friend who has a 300zx twin turbo with 838rwhp and the only thing he did to his VG30dett was pistons and rods and it has never been rebuilt.

  • @JDMforever11 changing pistons and rods is rebuilding the bottom end and they don't last it will have oil problems and will blow unless he changed everything you put the same money into a sb chevy you will get more power more torque and way better reliability

    and both are garbage power wise compared to the 6g72 or even the 4g6x

  • @miniimoto95 again, wrong. the only advantages of the Z31 is space. Z32 engines are much stronger and produce much more power since it being a DOHC. theres people with 300zx TT's making over 500RWHP on 100k miles, Z32 has never done that and cant handle that on stock internals. and the 6g72 may be quicker off the line but the record of the 3000gt/stealth RT is 8.88 while the 300zx TT has done 8.74 while doing a wheelie.

  • @Gordian79 while thats true im pretty sure that the pro stocks are not aloud any sort of power adder. no nitrous, no supercharger and no turbo. im not sure that i would compare the two types of cars since they make power through different methods and are held to different rules. its like comparing F1 and Nascar.

Not saying Brent Rau doesn't have his shit together because he does and this car is in fact awesome but ci plays for less of a role in power production than stuff like cylinder heads, forced induction, nitrous, build materials, rotating mass etc.

  • How about you stop making stupid comments then and read sometimes. NHRA restricted this car first of all, so who knows what it really could do. Second of all I don't recall anywhere in the actual video it saying anything about V8s, so why do V8 owners feel the need to defend the car of their choice with comments such as yours? Do what you love, but until you fund the other guys car, then you have no say in it.

  • everyone wants to talk shift about american cars. it takes this guy and 86 psi to run in the low 7 high 6s. look at a pro stocker. they are naturaly aspirated motors with amazing flowing heads and somewhere around 16 to 18 compression ratio and they run the mid to low 6s. not to mention a top sportsman or pro mod. they dont have limitations on them. and lets not even get into the nitro blown top fuelers. but les face it guys it takes a 4 banger with crazy boost to keep up with good ole v8 power.

  • Whether it takes boost or not who cares? Do what you like, but look at it from another point of view. Run 10s at the track get 25 MPG on the way home. Show me your good ole V8 displaying that much efficiency with power.

  • Perfect example..his ET's are all around the same as those big v8 guys out there. But, his mph's are a little less. why? Because he only makes 1500ish hp, not the 2200-2500 that those guys do, BUT he also weighs 400 lbs less. Hence why his ET is similar to brian carpenter, yet carp traps 219, and brent a 201. (just using Brian as an example from this weekend) And btw, I'm posting this on my GF's account, lol.

  • I worked on this car this last weekend at the muscle car shootout. Nitrous has been tried, but the car doesn't go any faster, so it's not really needed. There comes a point when you make power that the next step up is a BIG one. He's already running methanol. Oh, and 86 psi? It will eventually be 100. He doesn't have a big block. He's creatively engineered a little 4 banger to go as fast/faster then all your v8's. AND is setting world records in the process.

  • @1tuffgirl if this car is faster than all V8s why does he have to use Methanol to achieve street legal times? Look up NMCA Pro Street they run the same times using Street gas and DOT tires. With the mods and fuel hes using he should be running Pro Mod but he can't

I have nothing against V8's but I also happen to like playing with imports too. For someone that claims to have a V8 deep in the 6's you sure seem to have a bunch of time to bash imports on You Tube.

You said I would never have a V8 faster which is a dumb claim when so many people own Pro Mod, Pro Street, Altereds, Comp Elmin cars all which are faster. I also only made one comment and you started replying to me saying I would never own a faster car which is a dumb claim. If you actually went to a dragstrip you would see people who own faster cars.

  • @DsMxDeadpool Yeah you did remember this "just faster than any V8 you will ever own" the reason I don't like this car is, it costs 3 times the prices of a NMCA Pro Street car and the NMCA Pro Street cars run the same times yet are street legal. Maybe you should learn about Pro Mod, Pro Street, Comp Elmin, the Alcohol classes, etc which are all cheaper yet faster cars.

  • @skatepunkzero I wouldn't call comp cheap by any means..... most of the regularly competitive comp cars have a lot of money stuffed in them... but comp eliminator is probably one of the best classes to watch.

  • @ihateyoujeffy Well the Muscle Cars that run in Comp are cheaper than to build an Import, building an Import costs about 3 times as much. For my 89 Chevy S10 350 it was only $2000 to get 415hp (new heads, cam, rear gears, manifold, and 750cfm carb) and the 350 had a stock 155hp it had , a friend of mine has a 90s Subaru WRX which had about 230hp stock hes spent over $6000 on it just to get 430hp. Its much cheaper to build and race muscle cars.

  • @skatepunkzero I'm just saying most comp eliminator cars that consistently run way under the index are gonna cost just as much if not more. Sure when dealing with mostly street stuff it cheaper for domestic but once you get into any fast classes, it's all expensive.

Yes Larry Larsons Nova was expensive but its budget is no where near this car, Larry Larson only spent around $40,000-$50,000 grand or so on it and it runs the same times as this car on street gas, and street tires. This car has over $100,000 invested in it. Same with Ali Afshar STI he has 7 Figures invested in his car and it is slower than most of the NMCA pro street cars. The NMCA pro street cars all use pump gas and street tires too.

  • @skatepunkzero I doubt Larry only spent 40-50k on his car even while some of the work on his own..... A twin turbo Mike Moran built 565 is gonna cost at least that. Also I was just talking about the cost in comp eliminator... some of those guys spend six figures to only go in the 7's. $100k for a 6 sec car isn't pricey at all really.

  • @1tuffgirl "as fast/faster then all your v8's" Not really, many pro mod, extreme 10.5 V8 powered cars are running 5's@250+MPH in the quarter using twin turbos and gasoline, and I am by no means saying the 4G63 isn't a bad ass little motor, no one can deny that and if they do they are just a fool. But to say it will "go as fast/faster then all your v8's" is a pretty bold statement and just flat out not true.

  • Why cant people just appriciate this masterpiece of a car. Not many eclipses around that run 6's its a rare chance. 1400RWHP @11,000 RPM and 86Pound of boost. Thats insane. This car is world champion 3 times. I would appriciate everything if i built a master piece like this.

    It looks and drives like a baby pro stock car, its built to the extremes.

    So after all of that i've seen cars run .5-.6 secs faster on 2.5 times less boost and 800lbs more weight.

    Its cool and all, but after going all the way to 86lbs of boost and still being at this speed is kind of sad.. Plus this car is on some kind of shot of nitrous so that just multiplies these feelings..

  • Well if you knew anything about the car, which you obvioiusly dont, the class he is running in limited him to a smaller turbo size than they wanted to run.

    Also, his class allows nitrous but he didn't use nitrous when he ran a 6.97. You're just soome ignorant fuck who can't give credit where it's due. You have no idea what goes into a 6 second car much less have the skills to put together something that has accomplished half as much.

  • It's because you're clueless on how boost pressure relates to cfms and displacement. Brent is running a fucking 2.0 liter engine. Do you even understand why the pressure reaches those levels? Do you hate the rigs at the tractor pulls too that are pushing in excess of 100 psi?

    at a certain level the power band is sacrificed, hopefully because its a purpose built car.

    if its a Honda that only sees roughly 5000-10,000 rpm.. then it doesnt really effect anything the car is trying to do.

    i like internal combustion engines in general; does not really matter what configuration it is..... but whatever the configuration, i enjoy boost.

  • Supra engines aren't four cylinders, they are inline sixes, so that isn't the fastest four cylinder. It probably is the world's fastest sport compact though.

  • Rotarys are 1.3l engines that are rated for 2.6l and run IN THAT CLASS, and being two-stroke they can make power EASIER, by the way i plan on one day building a LS1 FD, no overheating no blown apex seals, and a REAL POWERBAND.

    The 4g63 is fast in the 1/4 due to AWD & great launches. This car is rwd, but you get the idea.

    The 2JZ was designed in Germany for Toyota for the JTC circuit due to reliability issues. The previous supra motor was notorious for head gasket failure, led to lawsuit FYI!

    German I6 from BMw,etc attain similar power #'s look'em up!

    OH, the 4g isn't bad for top end morons!

Have several friends who run top spotsman , outlaw 10.5 , outlaw dragradial and sht.. THis little eclipe is ONE BAD BITCH!!!!!!!!     The 4G is a import motor, but the term "import scene" doesnt describe dsm people or what 94% of them are about. there is a big difference.

  • The4g63 wasnt made for the 1/4 mile what are you talking about. It is a rally motor. It just so happens to work really well in a 1/4 build.

    The 4g63 is the best 4 cylinder in my opinion and the 2jz is the best 6 cylinder.

  • The 2jz isnt what makes supras not run good times in the 1/4 mile. The supra is just not a good drag car platform unless you to hella work.

    The 2jz can make more power than a 4g63, and especially more torque.

  • There are no fast supras, they are all junk. Over priced and over powered, they can't stick down a good 1/4 mile anywhere. They are just a tire firing pos. Now on the highway the other hand they will decimate all.

  • ive seen it put down well over 1000awhp on a dyno.... but not 1400,..... i wonder if it runs more aggressive timing and more boost at the track than at the dyno. or if thats just a fun crank hp guess
