I was one of the lucky ones who got to see the Beatles in concert in 1966 at the Buddkan in Tokyo. In the early 90s I saw McCartney and at one point he did a Beatles medley and pictures of the Beatles were being shown on two huge screens on either side of the stage. At the end of the medley the very last picture shown was of John. The arena went black and then the picture slowly faded. there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

They joked around with each while they were playing and between the songs and talked with the audience. Granted performers weren't as animated as they are today but still an experience I will never forget. I have other stories about this concert that are pretty cool, to me anyway.

Went to the Dakota a while back, people all around, still it seemed so empty and cold. A ripple in time, a warp of sorts.
I remember seeing these strange chaps coming off an airplane with their long hair and odd swagger. And today it seems as if this one passed just yesterday,
give or take 30 years. hmmm

I'm 14 years old, and this man has been my hero for a long time. I wish I could've lived in the era in which he sang and was alive, but I am lucky to live in an era in which he is still very appreciated.

I was one of the lucky ones who got to see the Beatles in concert in 1966 at the Buddkan in Tokyo. In the early 90s I saw McCartney and at one point he did a Beatles medley and pictures of the Beatles were being shown on two huge screens on either side of the stage. At the end of the medley the very last picture shown was of John. The arena went black and then the picture slowly faded. there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

@gazuaman My sister, who was 16, and I saw them the last year they would tour but as I remember, and it was 1966 and I was 11, they seemed to be havnig a good time. They joked around with each while they were playing and between the songs and talked with the audience. Granted performers weren't as animated as they are today but still an experience I will never forget. I have other stories about this concert that are pretty cool, to me anyway.
