01/08/2011; IT'S TRUE. YOU MADE YOUR XS650 SOUND GREAT. ITS A CLEVER USE OF LOW COST AUTO TYPE SHORTY GLASS PACKS TO GET A SURPRISING STRONG BUT NOT TOO LOUD EXHAUST SYSTEM SOUND. CONGRATS! YOU BEAT THE MUCH HIGHER COST AFTER MARKET EXHAUST SYSTEM CURRENT PRICES AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET FOR XS650'S, AND FEW EXIST. MAY TRY THIS TYPE ON MY '81 XS650 SPECIAL, 1981 XS650SH. MY BIKE HAS THE TWO HEAD PIPES GOING RIGHT + BACK TO 1 MUFFLER. MAYBE ONE GLASS PACK=WORK THANKS, JOHN B. N.E. IL.
That sounds fantastic! It's everything that is great about the XS sound times 10! A few questions if you don't mind...does it get droney on long rides? Are the mufflers part number OF3618? Also, are you using stock headpipes? Thanks for posting this,
Thanks! Its two 2" angled inlet/outlet automotive shorty glass packs from Autozone. I cleaned the red paint off and painted them with black header paint after I welded the mounts and adapters on :-)
