Practice your right hand on the full sweeps to get them cleaner. I started practicing with sweep picking for ca a half year ago, its somthing you have to "plug" in, it takes time to get both hands clean together. When you have got through that step you'll be able to sweep almost anything, belive me, i'm berely at that point now.  / good playing, keep it up ;D

It's an A minor arpeggio. It contains the notes, A, C, and E. If you look at his hands, you shouldn't have any problem knowing how to play it. However, knowing how to play something and actually doing it (especially with sweep picking) are totally different things. Good luck, and don't give up. It's a pain.

I've learned a lot of shit on acoustic that most people would think is impossible to learn. I mean, I learned Mordecai by Between the Buried and Me on acoustic and the only part I have left to perfect is the sweep on the solo. And I can somewhat sweep pick on acoustic already. Just not perfectly yet. So it can work out.

Yeah the Delay is usually used so that it sounds like there are more notes then there really are.

Whilst I quite like/liked Dimebag, I do think he's overrated (some would have you believe that he's better than Vai/Petrucci/Satriani, which is BS.)I would say Malmsteen's playing is predominantly clean, but he uses a lot of legato. I personally prefer Vai to Satriani, but they're both great.

Watch Herman Li's sweeping tutorial on here. It is horrible. You'll see what I mean. This guy's playing is possibly slightly slower, but it's a lot cleaner, and I quote Steve Vai: If it's not clean, it is worthless". Herman Li is a massively overrated guitarist.
