They dont make survival horror like this anymore.... And to think how terrible the graphics are now compared to todays standard (they are not terrible). Imagine what capcom could achieve if the went back to their roots now.

i like the game alot and i like the feeling of being in quite fucked up situation and trying to figure out how to avoid or kill zombies.... but i relly don't like looking at this picture. I just feel i wanna shoot my screen or just run away from my room. Especially its so fucked up picture cause alone in home at midnight and yea im a pussy :P

I remember when this came out, a friend of mine had it and brought it over to my cousin's house. There we were a group of 6 of us in a dark room playing it and getting the shit scared out of us. I wish I had a time machine to go back to 1996 and be 15yrs old again...

I don't agree, the Resident Evil games are classic games but be the end of Code Veronica the series was getting stale, which is why they changed the formula, but they changed it far too much, i don't give a shit what anyone says Resident Evil 4 was n still is a fucking great game mainly because it was Completely different, n every enemy type apart from the ganados in 4 was completely new and had never been seen before, that was what I liked. its 5 that fucked everything up. But I still love the old games myself, i own all the main series, all the ps1 Resi games 1,2 n nemesis, and Code Veronica X also own zero n the remake on the gamecube, and of course 4 and (reluctantly to admit) 5. @meg5493 Thats cool, RE1 was one of the PS1 games I got, I always liked it despite its voice acting, but the 2nd game was far better in all departments, I liked Nemesis too but 2 is my fave over all. What other game series do you like? I am into the MGS games, not that they make much sense but also like GTA, Assassins Creed, Uncharted n alot more.

@meg5493 Cool, think I have heard of Secret Files not played it, but have played Silent Hill, only played the first Silent Hill game, was more into Resident Evil than Silent Hill but still want to to play the other Silent Hills. I also like Dead Space, now that was cool, the whole dismemberment system, need to replay that. Been busy with Arkham City, Assassins Creed Revelations n also been playing the Elder Scrolls Oblivion, I also own Skyrim but trying to finish Oblivion 1st
@meg5493 I would recommend you to play MGS Meg, as its a really great game, it is widely considered one of the best games ever made for the PS1, the story is certainly really good n abit easier to follow than the sequels, also the bosses are really good in it. @meg5493 I have the gamecube for remake n zero, really enjoyed them, but the remake is so different and with newer enemies, the crimson heads are great :) still love the PS1 Resident Evil one though, i remember my first play at a friends house when i was 12 and nearly shitting myself when the dogs came through the windows n getting stuck between the two chairs n having my face bitten off at the same time n dying, that was what started my love for the games, my friend was pissing himself at me :D
@MartynJamieson9 lol i remember when i first got remake the employee told me to play it on hard mode so the crimson heads would scare the shit out of me only playing 2 and 4 at the time i thought he meant lickers but after playing it i had grown to hate the crimson heads i think their cool but man i just hate them RE2 is still my fav lickers are also my fav enemys besides the zombie dogs XD
@meg5493 Yeah, you canna beat the lickers :) by far the coolest enemy type in Resi2, I really hate how Capcom changed the lickers in Resi 5, they were not that cool. I personally hate the Hunters myself, the ones in Resi 1 are a total pain in the arse, they were less annoying in 3 but still hate them :) I liked the dogs but not when i got caught in between the chairs on my first play through :)

@meg5493 Yeah those arena that fun those rail shooters, but they could make a proper Wesker game, it be awesome, you could start off the game playing as human Wesker, sort of a interactive flashback type intro game, and be narrated by Wesker himself, you'd played the mansion scenerio from Wesker's point of view and then you start the game proper after hes impaled by Tyrant :)

RE1, RE2 etc. had shitty camera angles and controls were lacking but don`t forget the time when these games came out. It was really fun for its time, so fun to play and those minor things weren`t as important back then. I`m playing Resident Evil 2 again, and I must say the game is really easy, and the camera angles and controls don`t bother me that much, more so the difficulty of the game... Here again it was difficult for its time. Gamers just became much more experienced!
I found the original Resident Evil games more frustrating than they were scary. They never really were "survival horror" so much as "survival frustration." If I wanted a scary piss-your-pants game I'd play the Silent Hill series. If I wanted a mindless, entertaining game I'd play Resident Evil. I prefer the RE4-RE5 games but appreciate the history of the earlier series.
RE4 was a good game. It was fun, interesting, and the camera didn't violate you. For all the people complaining it wasn't a Resident Evil game, they wanted to take a series in a new direction instead of remaking the same game over and over.
@NaranjaVids I agree with you that Resident Evil 4 was a good game. It was such a big game, with many different areas, very scary bosses and moments and the atmosphere was pretty good! It offered alot. There was a few things that I didn`t like. In particular the action music that plays whenever an enemy is around, it takes away the horror. Also the fact that there was too much action, especially in the castle! I hope the new RE will take the good elements from the old RE`s and RE 4 :)
@NaranjaVids BUT I agree with other people that Resident Evil 5 was just too much based on action, and not much horror at all! To be honest, I only played it once! I tried playing it again some time ago but I simply got bored. On the contrary Resident Evil 4 I perhaps played around 3 or 4 times :) Like I said the developers should take good elements from RE 1, 2 & 3 (the music is 1 thing) and from RE4 + innovate and make RE even better.
@RealDMraider Resident Evil 5 sucked. I would not argue that. Resident Evil 4 however was a great blend of atmosphere PLUS not having gameplay that sucked balls.
The first four Resident Evils (yes I'm counting Zero) had an amazing story and atmosphere but their gameplay was lacking. RE4 improved it and made it more accessible to people who didn't want shitty camera angles or awkward controls.
@NaranjaVids I wouldnt say change for the better. I still miss the camera angles of old resident evil games, but RE4 was a good game, RE5 was just bullshit. I hope the next RE game has the camera angles or is even at least scary

@meg5493 Yeah, you canna beat the lickers :) by far the coolest enemy type in Resi2, I really hate how Capcom changed the lickers in Resi 5, they were not that cool. I personally hate the Hunters myself, the ones in Resi 1 are a total pain in the arse, they were less annoying in 3 but still hate them :) I liked the dogs but not when i got caught in between the chairs on my first play through :)

@meg5493 Yeah those arena that fun those rail shooters, but they could make a proper Wesker game, it be awesome, you could start off the game playing as human Wesker, sort of a interactive flashback type intro game, and be narrated by Wesker himself, you'd played the mansion scenerio from Wesker's point of view and then you start the game proper after hes impaled by Tyrant :)

RE5 was great in its own way. I enjoyed it.
But it did not stay true to zombie horror like the first 2 (or 3?) RE games. Was too action oriented, not survival-terror.

RE1, RE2 etc. had shitty camera angles and controls were lacking but don`t forget the time when these games came out. It was really fun for its time, so fun to play and those minor things weren`t as important back then. I`m playing Resident Evil 2 again, and I must say the game is really easy, and the camera angles and controls don`t bother me that much, more so the difficulty of the game... Here again it was difficult for its time. Gamers just became much more experienced!

I found the original Resident Evil games more frustrating than they were scary. They never really were "survival horror" so much as "survival frustration." If I wanted a scary piss-your-pants game I'd play the Silent Hill series. If I wanted a mindless, entertaining game I'd play Resident Evil. I prefer the RE4-RE5 games but appreciate the history of the earlier series.

RE4 was a good game. It was fun, interesting, and the camera didn't violate you. For all the people complaining it wasn't a Resident Evil game, they wanted to take a series in a new direction instead of remaking the same game over and over.
And it was a change for the better.

@NaranjaVids I agree with you that Resident Evil 4 was a good game. It was such a big game, with many different areas, very scary bosses and moments and the atmosphere was pretty good! It offered alot. There was a few things that I didn`t like. In particular the action music that plays whenever an enemy is around, it takes away the horror. Also the fact that there was too much action, especially in the castle! I hope the new RE will take the good elements from the old RE`s and RE 4 :)

@NaranjaVids BUT I agree with other people that Resident Evil 5 was just too much based on action, and not much horror at all! To be honest, I only played it once! I tried playing it again some time ago but I simply got bored. On the contrary Resident Evil 4 I perhaps played around 3 or 4 times :) Like I said the developers should take good elements from RE 1, 2 & 3 (the music is 1 thing) and from RE4 + innovate and make RE even better.

@RealDMraider Resident Evil 5 sucked. I would not argue that. Resident Evil 4 however was a great blend of atmosphere PLUS not having gameplay that sucked balls.
The first four Resident Evils (yes I'm counting Zero) had an amazing story and atmosphere but their gameplay was lacking. RE4 improved it and made it more accessible to people who didn't want shitty camera angles or awkward controls.
