  • @BeeBelkis me too!! loved that book!!

  • WOOOOW I looked it up too because fo Audrey Wait THAT BOOK IS AMAZING I LOVED EVEN WORD OF IT.

  • I discovered this WONDERFUL Group last Year. I'm now certain that the Canadians produce other things that are great besides Whiskey ( LOL) and Brave Soldiers

  • So hard to pick a favorite Song by the Cowboy Junkies. This is one of the best.

  • So rich, simple and to the point...incredible guitar and vocal weave

  • i didnt realize so many other people would be here because of audrey wait...its an awesome book!

  • Excellent!!

  • love that book :P

  • LOVE IT! found it readin AUDREY WAIT! XD

  • Possibly the most existential line in popular music: "Each and every year that I sit here, that horizon seems to inch just so much nearer, and all that's on it appears as clear as spit. But if there's one thing in my life the years have taught its you can always see it coming, but you can never stop it." That about says it all, doesn't it.

  • @gurlsingerfan Just like a car crash..."you can always see it coming but you can never stop it" That is an epic lyric and my favorite in this song. I think the other immensely profound line is in the chorus. "The slightest move and this river mud pulls me further down, Johns' at my side but he's not noticing that I'm drowning." I think she's describing how we can go through life and sometimes not notice the suffering of even the people who are close to us. Love her smokey voice too!!!

  • Just gives me chills ...excellent..thanks for putting it up.

  • It is amazing..anyone who listens to this band raves and states how underated they are. They have been one of my favorite bands for decades now. Finally got to see them live (they sound better than any recording) and believe they are right where they should be. Margo is a very timid woman, they usually play small, intamate venues. Making absolutley beatiful and magical music is what these guys do. Getting popular just aint ever going to happen. Good thing.

  • @sjbonadonna What cannot be captured in a recording is the wonderful charm of Margo...she was frankly beautiful as a young woman and is absolutely beautiful in a deeper way in midlife...sincere, funny, self depreciating, when she came on the stage in Louisville where I saw the Junkies, the guys were smitten and the women in the audience found her so endearing you could hear a soft chorus of "awwww". It was like a baby boomer reunion, wither Margo as the center of the world for a while <3

  • i found this song by reading audrey, wait!

  • Nice Voice. I love this!

  • Saw them last year and just this song alone was worth the entrance fee, the rest was a huge bonus.

Met Margo afterwards and she was just lovely. My youngest daughter fell in love with her on the spot.

  • The world can keep their generic Nickelback and Michael Buble. This is authentic Canadian music at its soul-wrenching best. Keep it coming Junkies.

  • @cjuntrin Perfectly, perfectly said. Their songs read like Dick and Jane books compared to Mr. Timmins poetry. Chills.

  • Lovely song, this album is so dreamy and luscious-but very underated. I would love to see them live and meet Margo.

She makes it sound effortless, I will never understand why they never became more mainstream-but I'll be selfish and thankful for their music on a personal listen!

  • years ago someone turned me on to the "Trinity Sessions"....i fell in love with their music....but must admit that "lay it down' was the better of the two

  • @Debsworlddotcom try pale sun cresent moon or miles from our home. GREAT!!

  • "Lay it down" has that dreamy quality, every song is as strong as the other, no filler in between. It's the best album to listen to after the loss of a loved one, or just over and over in the depths of a Canadian winter.

  • seen them twice, drove 15 hours the first time and met Margo after both times. she always comes out with her husband after the show and just chats with everyone

  • Absolutely underrated album!!!

  • This song and entire Album totally won me over and I agree she is as genuine as she is a wonderful singer and Brother sure can throw some awesome words together .have seen them three times in the ast two years and hope they swing back through the Midwest

  • Her name isn't Michelle, it's Margo...Margo Timmins. Had the pleasure of meeting her between sets at a gig they did back in the early 90's at a small bar in Waterloo. She's as lovely a person as you'd ever want to meet, and has a haunting voice.

  • these lyrics are frikin genius.

i don't really usually like songs with the voice that michelle has, but seriously.. you HAVE to like her.

  • @nonstopdoodling I LOVE that book!! That's how i found this song too!!

  • @niftygrrl ah!!!! me too!! Im reading it right now!

  • What an underrated band. Michelle's voice is just exquisite. The sort of Group I initially don't like, but automatically buy anything of theirs, because after a few times of playing they become my favourites. I'd so love to see them.

    DemonEmma

  • Outside of her name is Margo - you're spot on. See them live, she always takes time to chat afterward (if you can't sneak into soundcheck).

  • underrated, underrated, underrated

  • probably as beautiful a song as I have ever heard , Seen Them in Birmingham Al In Feb. Seats on the stage maybe 30 feet away as she sang this song mesmerizing

  • saw her and her brother Micheal yesterday with only about 25 others in a small bar in Ottawa. Won tickets at a radio station. She only did 5 songs cause they had a show later, but got my picture with her. Great voice and a really nice lady. Made my day.

  • Saying goodbye to goodbye while I'm flying over the rainbow in a rowboat floating in tears.

  • Perfect melancholy. Such a terrible mood sounding so beautifully sad. Despite myself, love this.

  • Margo Timmons - VILF.

  • Damn it...I'm crying right now...I love this song...It reminds me of a very difficult time of my life...that luckily is long gone...I heard this song a lot back then...and it is still one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard...I love Cowboy Junkies

  • Great song. Cowboy junkies is probably one of the most underrated bands there is.

  • reminds me of heartBrek in Ga/
