Fantastic series! You're methodical, mix humour into your lessons and go over things just the right amount. I've seen other tutorials, but yours are the only ones that go through concepts without swamping the listener. Thanks!
I like copying then adapting what you teach so I can remember it better. I did what some of the others did and made animals abstract.
@MusicRevelance It's probably because people think it some easy ass thing, that'll take a few minutes to type up and make a program - Not having interest in Java.
I personally love how Bucky repeats what stuff means, even though he has made clear what they are, and what they do - Not that I need to rehear what it means, it just helps a lot remembering.
very good and fun videos bucky... i been a fan since like a year ago.. whenever I want to learn a programming language, its good to know the new boston is is around... looking forward to going through all your java tutorials and then c++ and hopefully the c# that shoupld be coming in 1-2 month
If I wanted to write this in a normal for loop instead of an enhanced for loop how would I go about doing it? So instead of: for(Animal x: theList){ x.noise(); } what would it be? for(int i = 0; i<theList.length; i++){ ??? } Am I on the right tracks? P.S. thenewboston, your tutorials have taught me soooo much so far so thanks!
@caplunga yeah pretty much. it would be... for(int i=0;i<thelist.length;i++) then you'd use thelist[i].noise(); this will cause the same output as in the tutorial.
thenewboston, sir, i need to congratulate you for such a didactic work. the examples used are powerful in transmitting your ample knowledge and command of java. most people know things; but very few, like you, have the gift to teach them. once again, thank you so much for the effort. it is appreciated. keep them videos coming please
OOOH, I love these tutorials spite the fact that this is years old xD. Is there a playlist for all your tutorials? :) and do you make tutorials on how to make actual programs with games and programs that we can use?
Still great tutorials, I'll watch these until the last one! :)
Just, two things
1. I know you said it was for educational purposes - but now after your last tutorial, I'd make the noise() in Animal abstract :) - Learning is great sometimes.
2. Putting objects into array & using them as "x" (Kind of what you did), was also in the tutorial with "fatty" -2 sec, searching for it-
Hey bucky thanks for all this videos.... You rock MAN!!!..... But I want you to do some E-commerce or Online shopping portals projects using JAVA as a language with any nice and easy Frame work MVC. I will be waiting for your reply
Entertaining, and I earned A's in all 3 of my computer programming courses (Fortran in 1981, 2 C++ courses in 2005), but once outside the classroom, I have never really found any use for computer programming or any of the ideas I learned (inheritance, polymorphism) except OUTSIDE programming: I like the OOP-way of organizing the world, although it is NOT suitable for purposes such as game theory & justice. My main passion is math & math modelling.
Thank you Bucky, i have learnt so much of your videos.. doing these videos for free, dont know how to thank ya man. Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
applets are the thing giveing me the most trouble right now. if u can find a easyer way to do them or explain the codeing to them. please do there a real pain in my ass right now
