We have two companies of Marines running rampant all over the northern half of this island, and three Army regiments pinned down in the southwestern corner, doing nothing. What the hell is going on?

I'm a marine. Was army first then changed cause it was to easy. Army mos was 31R. Went into the Marines as an 0311. Did six years there. On the recon thing. You can't be aviation and join recon. Only infantry can become recon just like scout snipers. ONLY INFANTRY. Uncle was recon 91-98. Don't act like your a marine and don't act like your recon. Marines don't have to get on here to talk junk like you. We Actually do stuff that you dream about while playing war games on xbox.

People in Congress favor the Army over the Corps, and have ever since its inception. All I know is, if I want to go from Corps to any other branch, I don't need to do their boot camp, but not vice-versa. That's the only definitive fact I got.

There's 3 times as many soldiers as there are Marines, more so in some time periods. Statistically speaking, there would be more just because of that. But virtually all awards are given through warfighting action that you were involved in, so out of just the Civil war and Plains Indian wars, the Army already dominates, because the Marine Corps wasn't heavily involved. @USMCO3111 Ranger training is way too difficult for a marine. I've never seen atleast one make it. Marines just get longer basic training, there is nothing to that. Trust me, they arn't stronger in any way. They just get all the attention from little kids and Hollywood.
The Marine Corps bases its institutional survival on conning youth into enlistment through pretty uniforms and extensive public relations, there geniuses....People have this idea that marines are more "elite" or better than every other military branch and that all marines are sf and infantry and this is not true. they do have longer and harder recruit training but soldiers marines sailors or airmen all deserve respect for serving our country.

The Marine Corps is about taking care of the Marines to the left and to the right of you and seeing each other become leaders. Marines that deviate from this path are the ones that get shafted and hate the Corps because they get Non-Judicial Punishment or get discharged.

You kinda just proved my point. Army hands out ribbons like candy, MOH's more frequently as well, but that's more due to the popularity and sheer numbers when compared to the Corps. People in Congress favor the Army over the Corps, and have ever since its inception. All I know is, if I want to go from Corps to any other branch, I don't need to do their boot camp, but not vice-versa. That's the only definitive fact I got.

There's 3 times as many soldiers as there are Marines, more so in some time periods. Statistically speaking, there would be more just because of that. But virtually all awards are given through warfighting action that you were involved in, so out of just the Civil war and Plains Indian wars, the Army already dominates, because the Marine Corps wasn't heavily involved. Numbers and deployment. Try and put disrespectful words in my mouth again. I love our military.

The only difference between regular marine infantry and ranger training is you guys go to jump school. that is it. And a lot good it does them. They are famous for getting their asses handed to them in somalia(20 dead soldiers) and killing heroes like pat tillman with friendly fire. LETS FACE IT, the army is for wannabes. They aren't always first. The U.S. Army was the first to lead into Baghdad.
The standard Marine and U.S. Soldier are NOT first to fight.
The special forces, Green Berets, Rangers, Navy SEALS, etc. Are the first to go behind enemy lines.
I respect BOTH branches. However, remember that the Marines are not always first to fight.

The Marine Corps bases its institutional survival on conning youth into enlistment through pretty uniforms and extensive public relations, there geniuses....People have this idea that marines are more "elite" or better than every other military branch and that all marines are sf and infantry and this is not true. they do have longer and harder recruit training but soldiers marines sailors or airmen all deserve respect for serving our country.

The Marine Corps is about taking care of the Marines to the left and to the right of you and seeing each other become leaders. Marines that deviate from this path are the ones that get shafted and hate the Corps because they get Non-Judicial Punishment or get discharged.
