  • lol Google with another product. Now I'm starting to think heir getting closer to becoming a monopoly. But it's good since it's free XD

  • this google tv internet tv is really starting to grow on me

  • I don't see any point that i should buy google tv

  • there is no way I will be paying the kind of money they are asking for this thing I have my HP computer connected to my flat screen long before this thing was even a though it does all this can do plus a lot more for about the same price

  • @ubuntututorials

    In your example

where is the video card(on board video will not cut it for good video)

Where is the PCI card with HDMI in And HDMI out?

where is the PCI card with a harmony remote built in to control other components in your hometheater system.

where is the wireless keyboard remote?

where is the cable/satellite control and integration?

your $300 HTPC cannot compare to the logitech revue.

to get a HTPC to integrate into a current hometheater system you would have to

    pay ~$800

  • Watching on WebM, HD mode, using HTML5, CPU at 2%

  • I'm pretty sure you could buy a cheap computer that could process more and cost less than this. Besdies you could do more witha computer, aka play games or chat on skype etc.

  • It's sad, We vote for her, because she's so nice and could put up some awesome advices and make it funny, instead she shuts her mouth don't ask real questions and falling in line with the companies.

  • Listing to him was like talking to best buys service phone line. Everything is jibberish except what they want you to hear. Besides apple tv 2nd gen is way better and now jailbroken

  • This is a DEMO not a Review. Stop trolling her.

  • Its pretty good, but ISP's in England are pretty annoying when it comes to internet usage, i think the market would have to change alot before something like that is marketable in the UK.

  • Hes sort of bragging about features like 320p bumps up to HD and so on, youtube features.....what does that have to do with logitechproducts?

  • Not sure exactly whats new with this, its probably very groundbreaking and fantastic but I just dont see it?

  • anyone else stop watching and watch the top gear lexus if-a video?

  • I thought it would be better. Mabey the "hacks" will rock? It really just looks like a pc hooked up to the tv.

  • I'm not sure what they're selling and I'm not interested.

  • painful!

  • This video would have went better if Nixie just reviewed it herself and gave an unbiased (as much as possible) on the product.

  • What a load of crap. XBMC is still the best Media Centre System in my opinion. Google are just trying to cash in on another market.

  • /want

  • I'm still trying to figure out if I think you are a sell-out nixie .... I realise people have to make money for a living, but If this channel changes into an ad channel I'm going to have to unsubscribe. You used to show us the cool stuff, and give us your opinion.. In these last vids, with the useless google tv thing, all you did was smile and ask questions people probably told you to ask.

Good luck with whatever you decide to become.

  • @Mvision123 EVERY youtuber hopes to someday earn money from their channel. Nix has put in a lot of hard (unpaid) work into her YouTube channel and she deserves the small amount of ad revenue she now receives. You actually can get some satisfaction from being happy for other people when they experience success, try not to spend so much energy on the negative. If you want to unsubscribe just do it, Nix doesn't need you.

  • @Mvision123 Oh shut up. What are you some kind of champion of the internet?

  • @Mvision123 Yeh Google monopoly scare me and the open source...

I am very glad you won this vids competition, but don't become their ad. girl!

Your last vids was good, but your Ubuntu girl! The fact that people love you more than Windows/Mac girl is because the all world like open source, and you showed to everyone that this fact is so TRUE!!!

Google is not better than Microsoft and Apple!

And again, we love you because you teach us what does Open Source stands for! NEVER forget that.

  • @Mvision123 why is it when anyone known here on youtube advertises a product (that they might actually like) people go and say they are selling out? cmon dude if you don't like the product then say your opinion no one is stopping you but don't go on and say that someone is selling out just because you do not see eye to eye

  • I can only wonder why Web TV never took off. I mean,.. I like this idea, but only cause it has the backing of Google. Integration of computer and TV is only the next logical step, but it's not a new one. What I want to know is how will this compare to past products and what will be the future of this as well?

  • Needs improvements! Boxee has the right idea of implementing social networks into a video/music experience but the way Google TV does it is just like a internet box featuring video and music (I believe that when you sit down to watch TV, you don't want to bother with a web browser like UI like the one in Google TV). And like @arkish0 says: I can't really see the difference between this and hooking your computer/laptop to a TV screen (also I get that Windows Media Center yuicky feeling)

  • i think it would not be a good start for google.. maybe on a second try.. i dont know .. i dont see the difference on connecting your laptop to your screen and perform the same actions but faster. but maybe on a near future we would see! =)

  • Yeah, news flash- not everyone in the world speaks English as their first language. Get over it. He is easier to understand than most native english speakers

  • The sound and his voice/accent and back ground noise make this a massive fail.

I can't follow what the hell is being discussed.

  • @myroslavrys At least hes educated. You must have quit school before they got to the lessons teaching you there's a whole world beyond your trailer park driveway and billions of people speaking thousands of different languages. Seems to me this is nothing more the a case of yet another ignorant yankee.

  • What did he say?

  • WHy would you want a big keyboard when you are watching TV? Nobody. Its what Google would want.

  • Nothing new, nothing needful - and he is hard to understand too. Boooring. Read a book, TV is dull.

  • Wow that's awesome! something to consider when I buy a TV.

  • He sounds like he's under water

  • @ArcanePath360 X-D !!!!

  • review the revue

  • Don't like they don't have a YouTube app? Comeback ón a browser youtube

  • this is nothing new

    its been done ages ago

anyways you can make one youself

i remember making my xbox 1 into a media hub ages ago

anyways just a get a pc hdmi wire plug into tv have internet access and vola there u go

but if u want it organised like the google tv thing

u can either use windows medai center or make an app that does shit like that urself :)

  • i wonder if one will be able to access the dvr files from the network as well.

to store them on a NAS or external harddrive

  • the only problem is the price, more expensive than apple tv.. but this is awesome!

  • I WANT ALL OF THAT MEDIA STUFF !!!!!! My Media centre is Cr*p in comparison!!! ....

  • I´m only watching Nikki, fuck the rest!

  • I have a computer sitting under my TV (Scaleo E) which does all of this. It cost £120 new. Plus, it plays games.

  • @ubuntututorials

then don't buy it it's not for you!

  • @bigbeeiii I'm only making the point that I think it's overpriced for $300 (~£186 now) given that it does less and you can get a full size computer for less.

  • @ubuntututorials

    can you for $300

    1)get a pc(good pc with a good video card),

    2)wireless keyboard(with $400 logitech remote built-in)

3)have that PC control my tv,blueray player, cablebox, cdplayer and avr receiver in my livingroom.

    4) and do it with out the PC & entire room sounding like a jet engine every time you watch TV?

If you can get a pc to do that for $300 and the capabilities( and future video apps) of android, please post it here so we can all buy it!!!

until then this is the answer:)

  • @bigbeeiii Yes. The Scaleo E came with a keyboard, remote control (and IR receiver built in), media case, built in LCD, basic integrated graphics (upgrading them for £30 with a PCI-E card) and a silent fan. The CPU has a massive copper heatsink on it to help keep it quiet. It is very quiet.

To your credit, it was on special offer when I bought it. The Scaleo E is not sold any more, unfortunately, but you can still find them on eBay. I bought it from Maplin in the UK.

  • @ubuntututorials

This is exactly what I mean(You got yours at a "special offer") and like you said it is not sold anymore.

I have yet to see anyone build an HTPC for $300 on youtube. If they do all they come up with are a glorified netbook components with a on-board video card that can barely play 480p, and makes any flash video from the web look like

stop-motion photography. For $300 logitech and google are giving you currently, the best turn-key system, without all the frustration of HTPC

  • @bigbeeiii Well, I guess so, but seriously I don't think much of this Revue compared to what a PC can do. Most graphics cards now have 1080p HDMI out and even my Celeron in the Scaleo E can play 1080p. Special offer or not, you can build a HTPC for less than $300 with the same case as the Scaleo E, I believe it's still available.

  • @ubuntututorials

The revue plays 1080p content thru HDMI also.

You still have not shown me an HTPC for $300 with all of the features that I have listed below that the revue has. Your Scaleo E still does not do full "wireless" harmony remote control of someones home theater system, or "wifi" control from an ipad, ipod, iphoneand android phone.

the video on the right called " Logitech's Revue Google TV demo "with becky worley from TWIT has the best info on the true use of the revue.

  • Here's my opinion:

HTPC: Does pretty much anything, browse web, play videos, play PC games and plays DVDs/Bluray. Mine came with a Freeview/Over-the-air receiver and video capture, as well as WiFi+ethernet, so it almost eliminates everything under the TV . Has all the quirks of a PC, i.e. sometimes slow and doesn't have a 10 foot interface.

  • Revue: Plays videos and browses web. Android, so basic games. Pretty limited for $300.

I wouldn't recommend buying a new HTPC. Simply because it WILL cost more than $300. But if you build one, with a case for $70 and a mobo+processor for $120 (even a Celeron would be good) as well as things like a 250 GB HDD for $50 and maybe an optical drive you can pretty much hands down beat the Revue.

This is my opinion, it's apples to oranges really, buy whatever you like!

  • @bigbeeiii Oh and it runs Windows XP, unlike all my other computers which run Ubuntu, but it performs pretty well. It can play 1080p content with 60-70% CPU load.

  • @bigbeeiii

Of course not. That is the whole point on them releasing this. But it's not as open as a HTPC could be. What ubuntu is saying is he could make the equivalent minus maybe 1 or 2 features for just as much or cheaper. What he is saying is you could go the HTPC way and maybe get a bit of annoyance in return I guess. By the annoyance I mean having more then 1 remote But that's about it.

  • While you're chatting to Google get them to fix YouTube. My subscriptions change from empty to a mixture of new stuff and videos I've already watched day on day. This one, for instance, I found by looking at you channel page as it didn't appear on my home page.

  • I am getting flashes of WebTV. The price and the keyboard/remote makes me think this isn't going to take off. This is just another piece of hardware. Bake it directly into TV sets or gaming systems like Xbox/Playstation and you might have something.

  • yawn -.-

  • LOL fake smile at 2:27

But why is the remote a big ass keyboard? Come on guys... No one wants to use that...

  • did that satalight say bell? (i know silly question)

  • Apple tv, PS3, Xbox 360, ect are better than this tv box

  • @Dave102693 appletv is fucking useless

  • @S0c0J0e Why you say that?

  • Google are probably the nicest multinational conglomerates I've ever seen.

  • Google TV, what else could you need?

  • Computer content on tv/ tv content on computer, this is NOTHING new. I've had my computer connected to my HD tv for about three years now. I also use my computer as a DVR via Linux software which is completely non-proprietary and open-source.

  • @VideoGuyNC Hey, lets forget about FREETUBETV or TVPC they are free forms of TV as well. haha,, I even use Conkeror browser to watch them! I have to admit I have a pretty good "basic" cbale package with lots of local TV on FREETUBE, CNN, FOX, DISN, DISC,all of them on TVPC.

  • There was not enough Nixie in this video and like alot of people I wouldn't buy this, my PC can already do this if I wanted it to.

  • Can you change the google search to Bing search?

  • @Aqualiteking -- Bing is the worst search engine out, why would any one use that? lol

  • lol abba

  • no, nixie is the beauty of it

  • Top Gear, good choice ; )

  • Would be wonderful if I could understand what Apu is saying.

  • Man, I love the indian accent! makes me smile

  • kermit?

  • what part of this cant be done with a wireless keyboard/mouse and a vga cable? #productfail

  • @Necrile lol my thoughts exactly.. my pc can do all these things with a hdmi cable to my tv. okay so i dont have a knobby search that bundles all my media but i can find all the media i need without using a spot light coz i use common sense and organisation #productfail indeed.

  • i tried tocare about this product, but i just dont, theres no reason for me to want it

  • put him in a green little frog customer and what do u get?

  • one more step towards the internet becoming nothing not much more than cable tv

  • This owns Apple TV.

  • @dreamcastdc ZZZzzzzZZZzzzzzZZzzzzZzzzzzzzzzZzzzZZzzzZzzzzzzZZzzz

  • Or you could get a desktop, or laptop, with an HDMI output and it's probably be better looking than that. They've got a good idea going, but it seems kinda meh as to what it can do.

  • indian power woooo

  • Hapoo!

  • this is kinda of useless.. my computer can already do this. why pay for something i can already do for free?

  • @linkinpain actually you had to pay for your computer but whatever

  • @lloyds30 yess but he "already" owns it.. you wouldnt buy an identical car to the one you already own would you if you already had it would you... its completely pointless...

In all honesty this shouldnt be marketed as a product as its really just a search engine. Host it advertise it and then charge people to advertise somewhere on it. thats all this should be. Seamless is its whole selling point and quite frankly im good with opening a tab or window. haha.

  • WOW that is cool!!! I love it!!!

  • This dude hot lucky with the ads ..... 99% of the time there is a ad first then the video.

  • @skillman01 i haven't seen any ads on youtube since last week

  • @N3rD3N oh u are even more lucky ..... xD but i mean 3 years ago was no ads, now is like every time I see the same halo reach commercial...

  • first!

    or atleast 1*10

  • I can't understand what he's trying to convey to me.

His English is really hindered by his accent.

  • Who cares about numbers....

  • it is delicious cake..you must eat it

  • 5 is AWESOME! You Guys SUCK!

  • 4 lol

  • 3rd xD

    FAIL 2.0 0____o

  • second!

    fail...

  • first.
