This was probably the only thing that annoyed me about the series - the writers did not handle Rory/Dean well after they introduced Jess and it just went downwards after that. It also got so weird after he left Lindsay - it got so strained and his phasing out was sudden and didn't make a lot of sense, unless he'd thought about leaving for a while (I mean, he still loved her after getting married). Anyway, these two sadly prove that sometimes love, be it true or young, just isn't enough :(

Of course, I wouldn't like her to leave him and go work for Obama, so that's why I prefer to think they met again after her job in the campaign was done and she helped him to rebuild his life(and their relationship, of course)

If Jared didn't have to go fight demons with another Dean, we could have seen Forester getting a proper divorce and restoring his life and old Dean. Who knows? If Jess and Logan improved, why couldn't Dean become a 2.0 version of his perfect old self? The difference is that Jess and Logan were long-lived jerks and Dean had a weak moment.

This video makes me want to cry. I've only seen sporadic episodes after season 4, but I always thought Rory should end up with Dean. I don't think he ever stopped loving her, even while he was married to Lindsay. But Rory changed a lot through the years and that's what made her choose Jess and Logan over him--which makes me sad.
I like to think that after the events of the finale, Dean moved to NY to find her eventually and they got married. I just tell myself that's what happened. :)

I do think after watching the shows from begining to end, I think Rory and Dean where the best couple out of all the guys she dated. agree with you.. and i resented the fact that in order to kill off his character... they wrote him into a jerk at the end to make the jess and rory's abusive relationship into a seemingly normal one.. dean was rory's first love and i think we all fell in love with them together

Yeah I know. I am an avid watcher of Supernatural and have been an obsessive fan since it premiered. But I didn't ask what happened to Jared--I know why Jared wasn't on Gilmore Girls anymore. I was asking what happened to DEAN (his character) after he and Rory broke up again

Oh your welcome. Dean, in fact, is not real, but a character. Most people know that, but somehow there are those out there who are confused about it (i.e. you). And actually, it has been 4 months since I asked this question so YOU really didn't clear up anything for me; the other posters and tv . com did that.... but yeah Dean Forester is just a character, as is Sam Winchester, both are played by Jared, which is why they look so much alike.
