There's a typo on the cart art. It says "Yars' revenge" rather than "Yar's revenge". The former would mean "the revenge of Yars".

Useless information, I know, but I thought it might be fun to point out.

Video games peaked in the 16 bit era, this stuff around now is empty redundant, uncreative garbage propped up by great technology.

It would be astounding if you could combine modern technology with the creativity of that period.

I'm sorry but Yar's Revenge sucked, as did most 2600 games. I used to get a game and get sick of it within about 4 days.

If you want to argue that today's games focus on style and graphics over substance I agree with you. But 2600 games are not what I would point to for comparison. NES, S-Nes, Genesis, 1980s arcade games -- great. But 2600 games were mostly hastily-thrown-together pieces of crap.

They put more into these hilariously bad commercials and jingles than into game development.

@terracottapie Your opinion. But I play Yars' Revenge, Kaboom!, Frogger, Pitfall, Empire Strikes Back, Enduro, Keystone Kapers, Missile Command and many others on my beloved Atari 2600 and they're great games, every bit as classic as NES or Genesis. Just older and a little different.

@Dibrini Indeed. They should learn to appreciate the older games. They're all spoiled by their HD graphics, 780p, and gore. Thankfully, I didn't fall for that. I'm 13 and will always be an Atari fan!
