Oh and for those confused about what Kief is, buds are covered in very tiny sap sacks called Trichomes, those are the clear crystal like hairs all over the bud, not the long brown ones! Trichomes are usually called pollen or crystals. When you grind your pot, if u use a screen, you can filter out the crystals that fall from the bud, this powdery substance is Kief. The better you screen out small bits of leaf debris from the fallen crystals, the purer your kief, and ultimately the purer your hash

Also, heating the kief before pressing it makes it softer and easier to press, giving you a better pressed tab of hash. I also like to heat it up a bit after, i dunno if it really helps seal in the oils, but i like to think it makes it better. To heat up your kief or hash tabs, just wrap it tightly in a couple layers of saran wrap or other thin plastic and dip it in really hot water for 10 seconds or so.

I would still warm the disc even after pressing it. It seals the hash so the oil doesn't just evaporate. All you have to do really is wrap a disc up in Saran wrap and put it in your back pocket for a day or two. The disc will slowly warm up and the trics will "melt" together. Doing this doesn't improve the smoke, it just makes the hash stay fresher longer. Give it a shot.

Well, you wouldn't put the whole press in your pocket. That would just be uncomfortable. You can press it then take it out and wrap it up really tight in saran-wrap. Then throw it in your pack pocket for a few days. That should do the trick. If you can't wait that long just drop the wrapped up disk into some hot water and let the water cool down, that'll work too. Do it a couple of times to make sure the disk is heated evenly. Just make sure it's watertight.
