Hey I was hoping you could let me know about the ignition switch under the key the electrical portion? i got a fault code srs when the switch started failing I was hoping to replace switch then clear code does that sound right.
I heard from my dealer that there is also software that needs to be updated, do you know anything about that? I would like to do this myself but I wonder if I don't have the dealer update the software, it may only be half a repair job.
Another thing to note is that you should keep these right side up, and if you don't then don't start the car for an hour or so. It is oil filled, and the electronics can overheat if the oil doesn't drain back down.
We C900 folks have to do it the hard way, I guess. Well, except that our cars run for decades without ignition components going bad. I guess there are pluses and minuses either way.
@jwells24 - I cracked the little red clip that secures to wiring plug/socket on the DIC - any idea where I might be able to get a replacement? Wasn't being gentle enough - :-(
Oh yeah its the 1997 900s

What are the signs of a faulty DIC?

I hate it when my car has a fault DIC... lol (Okay, childishness aside)
Cheers for the video, mate. About to have to change my DI cassette and shall be following your instructions =)

Great video. Luckily, I don't need to replace my DIC, but it's good to have references like yours. Thanks.

Great. Only now do I even own a Saab new enough to employ DI, and I've always wondered if it's really as easy as it sounds. I guess it is!

@eggsngritstn Yup it's that EASY. I felt funny even making a video about this, but hey if it helps a couple people then it was worth it.
