Jailbreaking is not illegal. You give apple the $200 and they give you the iPod, that's the deal. But if you jailbreak it and a problem occurs with your iPod then apple simply will not fix it.

If you just got a iPod Touch,it is probably a 3rd genereation, so you dont need to jailbreak it. You can only jailbreak the 1st generations, and they did what the 3rd generation already comes with!
