Negative again: Romero's are satire/somewhat humoruous (at times), yet fairly dark and disturbing. Fulci relied more on over-the-top gore effects..... that's not to say he couldn't make it 'work,' at least in the case of Zombi 2. But gore can get to the point where it's just ridiculous, no longer disturbing.

The most gruesome and disturbing part of this movie, in my opinion, was the police slide-show scene of various canibal aftermaths during wich someone coments....

"I'm afraid they are'nt very pleasent to look at."

....understating it quite drasticaly. There's also a pretty sick scene where the mad doctor cuts out a screaming "patients" vocal cords. But most of the movie is pretty ludicrus though.

Great Fucking Film. I'd so love to see it as a drive in feature or a cult screening. I didn't know what to think the first time around, but the second viewing...I was hooked. I think it's a timeless film. I love Dr Obrero, he makes the film what it is...sick and twisted. The zombies aren't frightening, just uglier than ugly. That's what makes them so eerie. Just wish there was more of Obrero on Youtube, I love watching him at work.
