It's always a terrible idea to make a site design in photoshop, imo.

@c0decub Why is that? Can you not design here and then slice it for use as a website? Or do you think it would be better off to design in Fireworks or Illustrator because the images are easier to maintain?

@RockstahRolln because even if you do slice a ton of images they'll take a decade to load if you're not careful. generally it's better to avoid an 'image site'

@c0decub Yes you are right about that but what if most images are in PNG? Most often it is better to do the entire site in CSS and only use certain parts of the site with images. Hope Im right on this... But, thanks for your input!

Photoshop is terrible program for designing a website, its too complicated to use and its a pain in the arse! Photoshop is made for editing photos and things like that. Illustrator is made for design and its easier for designing a website and working with colours, gradients and texts.

I can't belive he spent 45 minutes designing this in such detail in photoshop! When I make a site, I get an idea in my head and do like a 5 minute sketch of it on paint, or do a crazy rectangle drawing on Macromedia Fireworks. Then I start coding it in notepad. Screw Dreamweaver, that program is a piece of crap for people who want their site to look good!

Being able to draw out a site on photoshop is a lot different than actually making it

@Tramposch people could copy what your doing here or use a site skimmer and get it that way i had a client who i was designing a website for and i needed the entire site saved locally so i could see how the file structure was arnged and have ccess to other things i skimmed his site pics and all in about a hour

really nice but you don't need to use the pen tool to make a selection, just right click while in the make rectangle tool.
