  • i really like lennons voice in this version its so young

  • 3 disklies ?

  • I like it more with the harmonica. I like this song a lot but I think it sounds better with the harmonica

  • Nice username (:

  • 2 people don't know real music

  • its from anthology, still a grat song

  • i believe this is one of or the the earliest recording of please please me done september 11 1962, was thought lost but discovered and resurfaced in 1994, awesome version but hey, what Beatles song isnt awesome!

  • @GHarrison19432001 Revolution 9

  • @Timeofflux Chlorpromazine is effective

  • @Timeofflux You dont mean THAT

  • @Timeofflux Lol, what do you MEAN by 'version' ?

  • @Timeofflux Umm yeah, I ....SEE ; do your parents know you're still up ?

  • @Timeofflux Lol, what do you MEAN by 'version' ?

  • @Timeofflux Lol, are you like assorted stale fruit then ? ; what do you mean by 'complete' ?

  • @Timeofflux Ahh, now it's the predictable "chill out" counter reaction and projection game is it ? ; hmm, I SEE....

  • @Timeofflux And YOUR ass is where you can stick your 'qualitatively' better ; you prefer what YOU do so big deal, each to their own preference

  • @Timeofflux This version is fuckin' cracking ! much more raw & vibrant than the master with clearer drums, guitar and the best vocals

  • love the username!

  • this is the anthology version. It also doesnt have the background "AHHHH"s from Paul and George in it.

  • lol i thought at the beginning it's The Beatles Shit

  • i read that johnny marr added the harmonica bit at the beginning of "hand in glove" as a tribute to "please please me" and "love me do."

  • WOW!! INTERESTING!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love the Fab Four as much as next guy, but if this version was released, it would not have made it to #1.

  • the begining bit is a bit dogy

  • i preffer with the harmonica (the Beatles forever)

  • This is one of my favorite Beatles songs, but, it just doesn't sound right without the harmonica. The harmonica is is my favorite part of the song! When I hear that harmonica, I know right away what song it is!

  • And if anyone doubts this is Alan White, consider Ringo would never hit the snare drum that lightly plus he never played drum rolls like that. He couldn't because he was a left handed player playing the drums in a right handed set up. That's why he would always play a drumroll in a staccato, he would need time to get his left hand to lead the roll and he figured out if he played a roll in a 1-2 staccato it would pass which is just what he did when he played on this song, and it fit perfectly.

  • @JamesTKirkCobain You are right, Ringo is not playing in this. So was he actually better than Pete Best..? =P

  • This is with drummer Alan White.

  • FROM THE BEATLES ANTHOLOGY 1

  • They performed it that way on stage.

  • W/O John's Harmonica it's half A SONG!

  • This doesnt please me cause there is NO harmonica:/

and wtf look at the Album name

    the beatle shits????

    wtf.........xD

  • @csvictory12

i'm sure the music world is anxiously awaiting your harmonica/drum cover of this 48-year-old song by a band that was so good that covering them can only highlight your own deficiencies

  • I prefer the harmonica version.

  • @csvictory12 Impossible. It was recorded live onto two track tape. Only the harmonica was overdubbed onto the final take, which this is not.

  • Totally tubular to the max!

    xoxo

    The Clarences

  • OH MY GOSH!!!! WHO IS THE IDIOT THAT DISLIKED THIS VIDEO???? IT'S NOT FUNNY.

  • Wayyyyyyyy bettterr : )

  • It sounds weird without the harmonica! Just as epic, though.

  • This version came from The Beatles Anthology 1, that's why It's very rare take before speed it up while overdubbing the next take until they got the one we know and love

to this day as far we know it.

  • haha, 0 dislikes, SUKKKKKER!!! :D

  • @foremarkeboy7 Lies

  • @foremarkeboy7 then come 2 stupids :S

  • @MsBobohj figure it out for yourself.

  • @MsBobohj man im not saying i dont like it i dont care if you like it or not i never said i didnt so you dont have to be starting something! i dont care....it rocks this way but i like the other version better

  • @MsBobohj ok

  • it's sounds great but harmonica gives the style P=

  • @Timeofflux Yeah :)

  • @Timeofflux NO

  • @Timeofflux no

  • the Beatles'hits that made my day!! XD

  • @Timeofflux No, this verision is Great!

  • @Timeofflux agreed. That ain't Ringo either. That had to be the last appearance of the session drummer. I don't know how anyone can listen to the Beatles and not know Ringo added the dynamic that threw them into the stratosphere.

  • the harmonica is in John's pocket

  • Did you know that John originally stole the harmonica used on Please Please Me when the group played in Hamburg?

  • @Snowball3028 ....its true...stolen stuff always sounds better....

  • @Snowball3028 Never heard that, but I imagine (tee hee) that he stole quite a bit- that naughty boy!

  • I LOVE them for putting the apostrophe in the right place! :)

  • @OodCorporations Without the apostrophe it would say 'The Beatle Shits'! and they are a million miles away from that!

  • the look old with their heir like that like in these time

  • the look old with their heir like that like in these time

  • ...One of the 1st hottest bass riffs ever!

Oh so lucky to have been able to grow up with the Beatles..magical times, kids today have no clue what it was like

  • i think it sounds better without the harmonica

  • I agree actually ... but maybe that's just because it sounds "new"?

  • Well thats very interesting. You wouldn't think that a harmonica would make much difference but it really does. I love John's early harmonica work.

  • i like this version but i think it sounds better with the harmonica

  • It's interesting how in their early stuff the lead vocalist mixed lead vocal with harmony vocal 0.30.

  • Beautiful.

  • this from anthology......, not a really version of the finish take of please please me, but good job :)

  • Still a good song - even without the harmonica.

  • not bad but i jsut get tired of hearing their singing voices

  • Which take is this f- -ktown?

  • I like the version when Paul messes up the lyrics and you hear John laugh. It makes me smile everytime I hear that version.

  • eu prefiro com a bateria do ringo

  • I like it so much with harmonica, but I don't mean that this version is pretty, too :)

I like John' voice, it seems more clear, isn't it? :)

    BEATLES FOR EVER!! (L

  • it is on anthology one, that's where i heard this version :) It's just an early take of an early version. The drums and guitars also play slightly different things.

  • The harmonies over Lennon are all in "E". So cool.

  • Their timing and guitars are off. They got better of course. :)

  • Their early music was the best.

  • i dont mind if thers harmonica or not. so why r ppl battling lol

  • Harmonica or no Harmonica, this song is still great. One of my favs. ^^

  • I hate to correct you there...But with all due respect, In case you did not know...This IS an early take with Andy White on drums from the fall of '62, but without the harmonica, of course, and did not make the final master. Also, if this were from the Sullivan show, it would've been played a half-tone down from the record, and you'd hear peals of screams from girls in the studio audience.

  • Is this not mentioned on Wikipedia because it wasnt the master AT ALL ? because it mentions both mono & stereo mixes but neither without harmonica. What confuses me then is the picture of 'The Beatles Hits' on this post ; this version is an outtake not actually on that then ? ; i did hear the E.P. in the early '70s but forgot if this was on it !

  • It's a studio version with Andy White... that's not the Ringo drumming style at all.

  • nahh! its much better with the harmonica

and the one who is singing is John!

  • AWESOME VERSION - Thank you for posting

  • it's better WITHOUT the Harmonica

  • Yeah -- I would go with that. We'd probably hear this song moreso on AOR stations if the harmonica (or the 'harp', which is I think what John used to call his) was omitted

  • nah, the harp is classic :) adds to the pure cheesyness! you gotta love it!

  • thank you, fucktown. ****

  • This is with a studio drummer named Alan White.

  • Andy you mean.

  • LOL

  • Paaaauuuul LOL

  • hahahahah LOL

  • Who is THAT sittin' on the floor!?

  • I Think Its Paul McCartney

  • wow this was really early

  • great version, lovesongs with no overdubbs.

  • The Cover says THE BEATLES'HITS. :)

  • i noticed that too. lol

  • ah. good. :)

  • HA thats so Lennon

  • @apapods puncuations can make a big difference!

  • @apapods hahaha! Thats comedy gold!

  • @apapods yeah lol

  • NON NON NON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

definately NON, Andy White is recording ONLY , Love me do and Ps I Love You LP Version NON PPM

  • yea , you are right . I checked the complete Beatles recording sessions. The Anthology #1 booklet was practically misleading.

  • only lyrics from an age I love. Great version!

  • Comment removed

  • it doesn't sound like Rich, somehow. Anybody have the slow version?

  • pretty sure the slow version got erased all those years ago when they would do that . almost All Carson shows fromt he 60s we're erased by some genius because tape cost money .

  • i love the beatles! they are my fav band/artists of all time! but anyone else think that the album cover looks like it says The Beatle Shits?

  • yes

  • i actually like this version better.

  • John has a great voice

  • Superb version. You can relly hear that Gretsch guitar twang from George on this one.

  • Wow this album has Pete Best in it instead of Ringo...nice!!

  • No, this is the version with session man Andy White on drums, recorded at the same session as "Love Me Do". Pete was already dismissed from the group. This version is on the Anthology 1 collection.

  • no. andy white was only on love me do and ps i love you

    this is ringo

  • hey , , what we're you laughing about ? that version does actually have Andy White on drums. It's on the 1st BEATLES anthology. Andy WHite was definately the drummer on that session.

  • i think andy white only played on "love me do". "please please" me was from a later session

  • Comment removed

  • u r right big buz

  • actually I was wrong but thanks anyway. According to The complete Beatles recording sessions Andy White only play on Love me do and PS I love you

  • Very good version!

  • I think George Martin discovered this tape in the early 1990's, among some of his personal items from EMI.

  • Oh cool! :) Nice difference!

  • Pretty cool! I don't think I ever hear this version. Thanks!!

  • This was released on the Anthology album.

  • Read the description. Its a rare version without it...
