Every single thing that they've shown about this Lexus as amazing technology, EVEN THE OLD S-class 10 years ago had....this review is kinda biased... also, they choose the fully equipped most expensive longer wheelbase version of Lexus, and they chose almost a basic version of S-class. Anyway, the S500 with the V8 is more economical and produces less CO2 than Prius and is faster than LS600. S-class is just a better car, LS is TRYING to be as good.
Pound for pound I would go with the Lexus. Yes, the Lexus does take many tech ques from the S class but I think that they produced a better product for the money spent. I'm not impressed by auto park (weak option) I'm more impressed by the cohesiveness of the styling and interior. The Benz is attractive but not impressive to me visually. I Plus I find Lexus to be a more reliable brand than Mercedes Benz.
They say the Lexus is more powerful. Of course it is more powerful than MB S320, but why not comparing the Lexus to the S63 AMG or to the S65 AMG. Now these are pure beasts!

And they guy who said Lexus cars are safe: If you were in a serious car crash, what would you rather be in? A Lexus(Toyota) or a Mercedes-Benz that is so smart it knows a crash is going to happen before you know and can apply the brakes, roll up the windows and alter the seats to increase your probability of survival.

Mercedes' dark years weren't all that bad. It was just some issues (mainly electrics) during the late 90s-early 00s. The reason was that Mercedes MERGED in '98 with Chrysler (the REAL"bitch"), meaning they had to sacrifice a bit. Well, in '07, they split up, and Mercedes is hopefully back to building the best cars in the world, as they should be.

Dependability, every mercedes my parents have ever owned has had over 150,000miles on the clock always started and always needed just the usual servicing to keep them going and been sold on for what we bought them for and going just as well too. On top of that just look at all the old Mercs on the road would they still be there if they were unreliable? I don't think so, don't see that many old Lexis' now that i think of it...

the mercedes has the cruise control that can make it slow down to 0 too..plus brake assist, blind spot sensors, and the interior is so much better looking and more comfortable...the parallel parking for the lexus doesn't work right...i tried it it's useless in tight spaces, here the car had a lot of space in front and back..I can park better than the car can..

These reviewers don't know shit. The LS600h is not green or fuel efficient and it doesn't compete with the V12 Germans at all. More Toyota marketing hype.
Second, the LS600h does not give you V12 performance and 4-cylinder fuel economy. It's slower than the LS460 and the fuel economy it gets is comparable to a V8 as most reviewes have shown.
The LS600h is clearly the most overrated car in the world. Lexus is also the most overrated car brand out there if you ask me. Hype hype hype...

they dont mention that the radar cruise control in the lexus was invented by Mercedes Benz and has been an option since the 2002 S-Class. Lexus just copied it straight from Mercedes Benz, something that the Japanese car companies have a tendency to do.

And they guy who said Lexus cars are safe: If you were in a serious car crash, what would you rather be in? A Lexus(Toyota) or a Mercedes-Benz that is so smart it knows a crash is going to happen before you know and can apply the brakes, roll up the windows and alter the seats to increase your probability of survival.

Mercedes is always inventing ways to help prevent accidents in addition to convenience and comfort. So lexus still hasn't really invented anything to help advance automotive safety which is what Mercedes is always trying to do.

Radar cruise control is being used by everybody today. This is about licensing and innovation for improvements, NOT COPYING. Educate yourself a bit more.

They are the ones who invent most of the safety features that eventually appear on all cars. Airbags, seatbelt pretensioners, crumple zones, PRE-SAFE, and many more. Did you know they even INVENTED the automobile?? Karl Benz, Gottlieb Daimler, and Wilhelm Maybach in 1886 invented the first automobiles while jealous toyota created lexus in 1989.

Mercedes' dark years weren't all that bad. It was just some issues (mainly electrics) during the late 90s-early 00s. The reason was that Mercedes MERGED in '98 with Chrysler (the REAL"bitch"), meaning they had to sacrifice a bit. Well, in '07, they split up, and Mercedes is hopefully back to building the best cars in the world, as they should be.

Dependability, every mercedes my parents have ever owned has had over 150,000miles on the clock always started and always needed just the usual servicing to keep them going and been sold on for what we bought them for and going just as well too. On top of that just look at all the old Mercs on the road would they still be there if they were unreliable? I don't think so, don't see that many old Lexis' now that i think of it...

the mercedes has the cruise control that can make it slow down to 0 too..plus brake assist, blind spot sensors, and the interior is so much better looking and more comfortable...the parallel parking for the lexus doesn't work right...i tried it it's useless in tight spaces, here the car had a lot of space in front and back..I can park better than the car can..

You are so full of shit. A Lexus IS250 more comfortable than an E class and S class? Haha, very funny. The Toyota IS is so cramped inside you feel you're in a sardine can. No review out there has praised the IS for its comfort, which is crap even by Lexus standards. An E class and especially an S class KILL the Toyota IS in comfort ANY DAY. Oh, and sitting inside a car for 20 seconds is a piss poor way of judging comfort. Long distance driving is the way to measure comfort properly.

These reviewers don't know shit. The LS600h is not green or fuel efficient and it doesn't compete with the V12 Germans at all. More Toyota marketing hype.
Second, the LS600h does not give you V12 performance and 4-cylinder fuel economy. It's slower than the LS460 and the fuel economy it gets is comparable to a V8 as most reviewes have shown.
The LS600h is clearly the most overrated car in the world. Lexus is also the most overrated car brand out there if you ask me. Hype hype hype...

And if you really follow the times, you will have realised that Chrysler was sold two years ago. Daimler AG (Mercedes) are one of the few independent car manufacturers left in the world.

@tcy148 Actually, that's not necessarily true. While it was labeled as a merger, Mercedes-Benz actually did buy Chrysler. There's nothing that Chrysler had to offer MB for them to do a merger... MB used all of their money and technology to aid Chrysler. In fact, you can point out every new Chrysler being underpinned by a Mercedes vehicle. You can't do that in the opposite view.

Actually, Mercedes was not owned by Chrysler. Daimler GmBH (Mercedes' parent company) bought and sold Chrysler recently because it was diluting the Mercedes brand. Also, Toyota is not the most profitable car company in the world. Porsche is. Volkswagen recently surpassed Toyota as the largest car manufacturer in the world.

My coworker got an S550 and it's been nothing but trouble. Parking brake won't disengang, power seat won't work, power steering line broke, ESP blinks everytime he backs up. Finally traded it for an LS460 and solved his woes.

yeah this video is BIAST why didnt they test the S400Hybrid which owns the lexus in everything. plus those cheap inventions they are making are prone to failure.ex. the 2009 ES had a recall due to bad floor mats and other stuff. It killed more people than it ought to protect.
