I remember when this film first came out. I wasn't all that excited for it, and I was planning on seeing 9 instead. But it turned out that 9 was a limited release film and wasn't being displayed at my theater. Then, when the ratings for this film hit, I was in complete awe. I went to see it opening weekend, not expecting a whole lot, and... IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!

Not really. It rained food, then it rained too much food, and then it stopped raining food. No explanations were given and there really weren't any characters.

The book gives the sense that the town has always had food falling from the skies, not that it suddenly started with a machine or something. Remember at the end where the townspeople are all confused about refrigerators and such? I liked that surreal aspect of the book: no explanation, everybody seems to think it's normal, etc.
