No he wasn't driving the wrong way. If u see the lights by the tunnel they both are green, That means that both lines are carrying traffic into the tunnel. Basic driving rules. Otherwise one light would be green and the other one is red.

It wasnt a police trap, two reasons. 1. If you look there is a police car far left of the screen that didn't follow into the underpass, so they had no idea where the bike was headed. 2. The car the bike hit was a taxi, not a police care. A policeman's immediate reaction when a chased vehicles stopped is to get out and give chase, the man in the car eventually gets out but is plain clothed and puts his hands in the air in disbelief. A plain clothes police officer in a marked car? dont think so.
