like the way this opens with the muted trumpet and timpani, then the huge brass section blasting the theme with the flutes and chimes on top, then the brass section blasting it again with strings on top, then a very gorgeous middle section with soaring string melogy, then a solo trumpet to proclaim the majestic theme one final time - whew! - very epic :o)

@cash1981 Voyager can be entertaining, but so far (I'm in the second season) I find the characters mostly bland, the technobabble to be a bit ridiculous (as in, "that's really bad science"), and Janeway to be very much a Mary Sue. However, the good episodes are quite entertaining.

Still doesn't compare to DS9 or TNG though. Course Enterprise is a thousand times worse from what I've seen of it.

u know what i never understood. is why instead of traveling 75 thousand lightyears from the delta q. to the alpha q., which would take 80 yrs, why didnt they just fly to the gamma q. and use the gamma q. wormwhole that lead to the alpha q. cuz next gen. ds9 and voy r in the same time zone. and ds9 came out before voy and in the 1st ep of voy they were docked at ds9. so they knew of the worm hole. and that would be faster. fly for 20 yrs, use the worm home and boom back home.

(1:20)..and then when they go to warp at the end.. so beautiful... I think Trekkers who hate on Voyager are just jealous...:-D

I remember when I first saw this theme in 1995. I was sooooo excited to see another Star Trek

Too bad it let me down. The first season was good, but then I heard they fired several of the writers (like Michael Pillar) because they wanted Voyager to have scarce resources (running out of torpedoes) while Paramount insisted on a dumbed-down show with infinite resources

So the loss of good writers quickly turned it to crap. :-(
