verry good idea cuz i thought of somthing very simular for a coleg project on the same wave length but i want to split 12 inch round length ways

the wood doesn't look fully split. This is a very efficient machine, but it may not be effective...would have to see the "split" wood. how much did that thing cost, and does it work with something hard, like white oak or red gum?

fail.  too many pcs need to be pulled apart/resplit. all it needs is a longer cutting blade.
