I have Slacker.com to thank for introducing me to this song… and for reminding me how sad it is that I Think I Love You is the only PF song that ever gets mainstream airplay anymore.
Cracks me up,Danny came up to us in the Topanga Plaza when he was little (70/71?) and said he was a big TV star so he could beat us up he if wanted, wow here sure grew up like that it looks like. Good thing for him,we were not mean people at all.
So much of their lesser known music has been unappreciated...except for us that dug deep into their songs. Great songwriting and David came along at the right time for this music.
people say dont live in the past but i wish i could for what doe's the future hold for all of us working till we drop with pensions that are worth nothing. from pat
@nevin59 I can relate, My grandfather passed away in June of 09. I wished I lived back in the 1960s and the 1970s. Times were more simpler and easier.
You struck a cord with your comment there nevin59, I can relate to what you said exactly. Great times, life was easy, we needed little and the people we loved and who loved us were there. This record brings me back to that time.
Bless your mother, I lost mine in 98. Your mum will be in my prayers tonight.
Great arrangement, great lyrics, masterful instrumentation, and top notch singing from the days when music was gentle, not jarring. Thanks for the great posting. It brought back quite a few nice memories.
It amazes me how many people continue to respond to these videos of days gone by, although it shouldn't, because people are basicly the same at their roots. It makes me sad and happy at the same that some of you find comfort here remembering lost loved ones. I come here I think to remember a simpler time, and, I don't know, wish for more, although like everyone, some things are good some not so much. Anyway, I'll keep visiting once in awhile. Hope to see you here.
I love this song and in some ways it makes me think of my father who passed away eighteen years ago, and my aunt who passed away six years ago. This song also makes me thing of the happy times I've had over the years as well, so this song briings back both good and bad memories. I loved the episode this song came from - The Partridge Papers, where Keith, Danny & Laurie try and retrieve Lauries Diary back.
this great song reminds me of my secondery school...homewood in langley berkshire and all those crazy david cassidy girls in my class in the early 70s.....nicer times.
When I was a kid I hated all the teen idols except for one, David Cassidy. Keith Partridge was on TV every week, and he was cool with me. I love the photo montage here, so nostalgic, it really captures what we loved about this show. I too had the Laurie Partridge crush. Of course Shirley Jones was superb, Dave Madden too.
Wow - The Partridge Family was such a huge part of my childhood - I have all the collector cards, the game and music.......I really loved being a kid in the 70's!!!!!
I remember listening to this over and over pretend singing the words to a girl I was in love with as a 14 year old boy does..... she never knew of course, I was too shy to talk to her.
This and "Twenty Four Hours a Day" were my two favorite PF songs of all time. I adored David Cassidy, wanted to BE Susan Dey, and never ever missed an episode of the show. Listening to these songs as an adult, they really are well-crafted and arranged, and the session musicians who played and sang were top of the line. Brings back such great memories - thanks for sharing!
what's the real story behind the "family"/?? aside from Cassidy, did all the others sing too....obviously they were just going through the motions on the instruments...
Someone help! I heard David Cassidy is not very nice if you've met him in person? Don't know! Have you met him? Tell me about it!! Oh, this is my fav P.F. song!!
Seven of us sitting across the back seat of a huge old Ford Consul, cousins, bro and sis and me, waiting for Dad and Mum to get ready to come out to take us to a lovely country pub on a village green on a summer evening, this playing on the old a.m. radio on the top 20 countdown.
Soon, the muslims will ban pubs in England, but they can`t steal my memories.
The best song PF every did. Reminds me of my sisters and I sitting around listening to the LP from our parents stereo. More meaningful times especially upon my mothers death Dec 08. Simpler and happy times not appreciated as a kid. LU Mom!
@nevin59 i feel the same. my mom died in june of 2008 and the older i get the more i miss the days of simplicity, the 70's and being young and having my parents and being in love with david. kids just don't realize a lot of stuff.
@nevin59 I think Echo Vally and Doesn't Somebody Want To Be Wanted are strong contenders. Love'm all though. Agree about happy and simpler times. Sorry about your Mom. Both my parents are gone.
I used to think David and Susan were brother and sister.look at 2:34. and you'll see what I mean! This is my all time favourite David/Partridge Family record.Marvellous backing vocals and such a catchy tune should have been a much bigger hit. Pax to all from Ian Smith.Xxx.
GROWING UP IN THE 70s WAS A HAPPY MAGICAL TIME - MARC BOLAN T.REX DAVID CASSIDY ETC ETC . . SUSAN DEY HAD MY HORMONES FLYING , , WONDER WHERE AND WHAT SHES DOING THESE DAYS ? . .

Thanks for your reply so fast, Sumer. Tristan Kelly is the person who did a cover of Yes Love. Just look up the song, Yes Love, that you posted and you see there cover on the side, click it , and listen and watch. It's really nice. Let me know what you think.
Hey SumerKis, thanks for all these great songs and videos. Great Work! I'm sorry to hear that Tony Romeo passed away. When was this? He was a great songwriter! I used to sit in front of the TV with my tape recorder to tape every PF song in each episode. It was a cheap way of getting the songs. I still love these songs, probably as much as you do. By the way, what do you think of the TristanKelly cover of Yes Love. I thought it was nicely done and sweet!
Such a sweet romantic song with a lovely tune.Partridge Family's best track.Tony Romeo wrote it I think. He was always writing sweet songs. Whats he doing now?
What a great song. These people need to get together for a reunion while everyone of them is still alive. Yes, WITH Susan Dey! Please Ms. Dey, just one will do it!!
30+ years on, the song, the voice, the arrangement all perfect. At the risk of sounding like my dad, WHY DON'T THEY WRITE THEM LIKE THIS ANY MORE???????????????????
There is a thirst from the public for music like this, but somewhere along the way, we took a wrong turn and just kept going. Every now and then, a pop artist turns out a really catchy pop tune today. A couple examples might be "The Zephyr Song" by RHCP, "Someday" by Sugar Ray, "Big Me" by Foo Fighters.
These songs all have catchy hooks. But they just don't seem to appeal to today's more "sophisticated" listeners.
I agree with you, 10050cielo. These songs have the catchiest hooks. Think they'd be hits today? This one, along with Brown Eyes, is especially fantastic. I feel like a young teen again: about to burst because I want to share this amazing song with the world. Anyone else feel like this? Thank you again, SumerKis38, for sharing this mood lifter with us.
Not many people would admit to liking the partridge family, but made some great music..well..given that they wernt actually playing..but you know what I mean!
I think if the Partridge family producers hadn't picked up this song, it would have sounded good sung by someone like Karen Carpenter. Great tune, nice harmonies, cool subtle horns!!
Que recuerdos más bonitos, los chavos de esa época queriamos formar parte de una familia así. Saludos.

What a great song. These people need to get together for a reunion while everyone of them is still alive. Yes, WITH Susan Dey! Please Ms. Dey, just one will do it!!

At 0:54 David Cassidy looks hot. He was my teen hearthrob. I must of had every picture of him from Tiger Beat magazine plastered all over my bedroom.

30+ years on, the song, the voice, the arrangement all perfect. At the risk of sounding like my dad, WHY DON'T THEY WRITE THEM LIKE THIS ANY MORE???????????????????

Great track. Thankyou. But does anyone have a video clip of this? Was it ever performed in the series??

One of many fantastic tunes by The Partridge Family. Why can't they write songs this catchy anymore?

There is a thirst from the public for music like this, but somewhere along the way, we took a wrong turn and just kept going. Every now and then, a pop artist turns out a really catchy pop tune today. A couple examples might be "The Zephyr Song" by RHCP, "Someday" by Sugar Ray, "Big Me" by Foo Fighters.
These songs all have catchy hooks. But they just don't seem to appeal to today's more "sophisticated" listeners.
What a joke.

I'm twelve and I love them. My parents introduced them to me, saying that they watched the TV show when they were little. I fell in love. :)

This song is kind of sad, but I love it.

I think if the Partridge family producers hadn't picked up this song, it would have sounded good sung by someone like Karen Carpenter. Great tune, nice harmonies, cool subtle horns!!
