  • at 1:20 I about dropped a load! Holy Crap dude!

  • pretty good they made me do that for drama class

  • Does anyone know if there's a Spanish version of this? Not a translation, but something of similar purpose? And if there is, would practicing it help with my Spanish pronunciation, since I'm trying to learn Spanish?

  • @soaper4 from the description: "It stimulates the multiple muscles in your mouth to improve speech acuracy and diction". Think of it as a muscular exercise for your mouth. The mnemonic is a muscular exercise for your tongue, resulting in crisper, cleaner speech, in whatever language your speaking. In other words: you dont need a recipe in Italian to make Italian food.

  • fake. your voice is photoshopped

  • So...my Theatre teacher handed this out to us on the first day of class.

And we were told that she wrote it.....I'm confused.

  • @TweedleDeedleDum sorry.

  • people are so mean! this is the version i have to recite for a final tomorrow! thanks. (:

  • i lovee this warm up!! soo complicated!!

  • Nice video , thanks !

  • we just learned this in voice for the actor!!!! thats awesome though its so hard

  • whats an easy way to memorize it

  • i think you did very good.... i memorized this in 7th grade. dont think i could do it again!

  • here's the comment you asked for... i tried to learn that and it was hard to read at first so i give you kudos and i can tell you put some time... and you know what else?!! I WILL HAVE A GREAT DAY! thanks

  • Uh... might be better if you got the words right. For example, "Give me the gift of a grip top sock, a clip drape ship shape tip top sock. Not your spiv slick slapstick slip shod stock... "

  • Everyone's version is slightly different. You should definitely post a video response of yourself reciting the one you know. Thanks for commenting!

  • Everyone's version is slightly different because they're not using the original text.

  • one must share then :)

  • @channeltodd This was done at the DE Governor's School theatre program and they used different words as well. The theatre professor said that this exercise is so old that it can't even be credited, it's passed through word of mouth. "Original text" would be hard to confirm.

  • Random :L but okay

  • nice

  • we do this in the beginning of speech class every day...im going to be haunted by it for years! i hate grip top sock *twitch*

  • just wanted to let you know i aced the exam got it perfect

  • Brutally ignorant? According to what definition is any aspect of this video a mnemonic? "Mnemonic" should not be capitalized. You misspelled:

    "speeches", "accuracy" and "recommend".

  • Thanks :)

  • i want your fucking babies

  • Take a number and get in line

  • We did this at my acting camp! It's fantastic :D

  • haha boy got skillllzzzzzz....

  • dude that was... awesome

  • *rates it* o_o

I have to memorize Grip Top Sock for my Theater I exam. Luckily, I have until late December to get this, and I won't have to recite it as fast as you did.

  • Thank you so much:) this has helped me learn this!

  • ahh... I have such a hard time with that! Mostly becuse I can't remember the words... but the 'S' words are quite difficult.

I'm very impressed at your display. -fives-

  • dude i have this thing for a final exam in school....I will get it but it's just annoying

  • Well keep up the hard work. Practice slow, and remember to over enunciate, and if necessary exaggerate those mouth and tongue movements. Quic note: your tongue will flap around like that of a frenchman in a heated lovers quarrel!

  • there is another version of this on youtube.

i was there during filming. Check it out!

  • its not Pooka. its puh-ka. =]

  • Really? I was taught pooka...and not to get too technical, going from double e's to double o's, lots harder than doubke e's ti a rlaxed 'uh' sound. :)

  • alright, well my teacher wrote it...sooo..

  • completley un-verifiable...so.....

  • We go to the Canadian College of Performing Arts. Dr. Iris MacGregor Bannerman wrote this. LOOK IT UP. Do you even know what the speech means? Do you know what 'a super sheer sear-sucker pukka-sack smock-sock' is?

  • No its not, look it up. Copy right law says youre not allowed to plagiarize, but as long as you change one word its no longer being plagiarized. the original, first ever written version was done by our teacher.

  • I gave you a 5-star rating. I'm glad that you put the words in your description. I've been practicing - and am having trouble saying it fast, LOL. But YOU are super duper. :)

  • are you a pooty parper? need a little pep in your step? try VITa VeTA VEGAMIN?

  • hehehe LOL...that has got to be my all-time fav Lucy episode.

  • you sold make a video saying in slower

  • I could...but it would not be as much fun! I put the words in the video description section. 8)

  • you didn't say it correctly

  • oh...my bad. Could you submit a post of your recitation, and outline the part that I goofed?

  • 5 star

  • Do your socks smell?

  • LOL! what!?

  • my theatre arts teacher does it better.

  • why thank you. and have a nice day.

  • I couldn't get through it all without messing up. I would give myself just 1 star, but 5 stars go to you. :)

  • I'm so glad you did this. I read this tongue twister recently and really wanted to hear someone perform it, so thank you for being that person and doing it so well! Did you get through it on the first take? If so then I'm even more impressed.

  • I rated it a 1.. JUST kidding. I gave you a 5. :)

  • Naturally! :)
