Great video. Firefox is slow as molasses to do anything. I'd switch to google chrome but I'm concerned over security. Also its a nightmare to do advanced stuff on google chrome (like have it show you your bookmarks).
And if Firefox RUNS slow, i.e., won't let the full speed of your internet provider through --->
Change save history time from default of 90 days to 10. Purging cache doesn't kill all history data. It has to go through all 90 days to run something.
Same here and not just at start up. I went back to Fx 2 but most add-ons no longer support it. I've gone back to IE and Chrome and I also have RAM spare now. I am very disappointed with Firefox now and that makes me sad.
yeah ok, for me, mozilla firefox wont come up at all, or internet explorer, why could this be and could anyone help me with it, or show me vids that solve this problem?
I thought I was the only one, I finally downloaded it yesterday and its been slow and crashing and not letting me close tabs, I went back to using internet explorer but thats not as fast either, hope they come up with a fix
wow that is bad, I never had a problem on start up, but I am noticing that if I close the browser from time to time the process does not close and so firefox will not open. I am also noticing at times when I go to some websites like facebook at times I have to reload the page a few times before the content actually shows. Anyone know if they fixed firefox to be able to play pogo games?
3.5.2 solved this problem I believe, I didn't really have an issue with startup and I'm willing to wait a couple of seconds for a great browser but in your case this is really major.
When I updated to 3.5, the startup wasn't as bad as this but it was noticeably slower than 3.0.11. I immediately went back to 3.0.11. I just updated to 3.0.12 and it seems to be alright.
on Vista 64, 2.83GHz Quad, 8GB ram, had to empty the 4GBs in the Recycle bin for the user to get a normal Firefox 3.5 startup. But strange that the Beta process did not catch this bug?
its the launching process that hangs, not the actual FF process itself, they have different PIDs, if you use process explorer by sysinternals you can kill the launching process and it takes seconds to load. the actual FF process also lingers when closed. its a pain in the ass to be honest, also when killing the lingering process sometimes you lose saved data for that session, such as info stored in the password manager.
hahah, all you updated are all suckaas! I knew shit was happenning to ff3.5 bc the RC bluescreened my damn laptop. I'm rocking ff3.0 and lovin' it. I'm gonna wait for a couple hotfixes before my transition. That way all the extensions should be up to date as well.
Staying with 3.0.11 until the major bugs in 3.5 are fixed in 3.5.1. There's too much to lose: some people say they've lost all their settings, profile, bookmarks in the upgrade to 3.5 and can't them back by rolling back to 3.0.11. If you've got your bookmarks etc backed up there shouldn't be that sort of problem but why take the chance. Thanks for posting this vid.
why the fuck firefox and msn wont open

Windows XP? Enable NetBIOS on all your network connections, rather than letting it be automatic. This solved similar net bugs back in the day.

Firefox often takes 30+ seconds to load. Endtasking then reopening works. Switched browsers to something more stable until this is fixed.

What a shoddy release. Such a hige bug wasn't caught despite months of beta testing? ULTRAFAIL.
