I just had to mute my PSP and turn this on when I equipped the Pilebunker item in Zettai Hero Project, which is basically the Revolver Stake severed from Alteisen's arm. It even has a special skill, Stake Bunker (as in, Revolver Stake + Revolver Bunker), that looks like the last part of OG1's Trump Card and hits one enemy up to three panels away, as well as changing a portion of your characters theme song to the "Super Robot Version".
@BlueKenshin really, i wasn't aware you liked unoriginal brooding emotionless pretty boys more than an original well written character. sorry if i prefer the latter
@BlueKenshin toushe, but that fact he develops and isnt just a "yes sir no sir" person makes him much more relatable, because lets be honest. if someone acted like kyosuke irl he would have no friends
@BrotherhoodOfTheDead Ryusei is like all the other main characters, he is new to how things go in war and when he loses a friend his emotions get the better of him and he loses all rational thought he had in OG1 when he lost his friend(girl with blue hair) he blamed everyone around him while Kyosuke when he lost his friend(or girlfriend) Excellen he did not blame anyone exept himself and kept his calm. kyosuke made himself different from classic anime main character like Ryusei.
@ssjmega yes ryusei is the classic archetype, but kyosuke is the generic emotinless hero acrchetype thats popular nowadays. Kyosuke would've been a lot more interesting if we had seen him develop into the person he his now, but he doesnt develop once. Since the modern trendy deadpan hero is in today, characters like kyosuke take no risks in terms of character. i wouldnt hate him so much if the audience werent suppose to accept him as our hero, because he is about as dull as dishwater
@BrotherhoodOfTheDead well he did develop in the begining of OG1 he was a stuck up thinks he can do anything because he is cool kind of guy later after seeing the hardships of war he goes from thinking he is awsome to stratagy and calm because he knows that is the only way to truely win a fight. but he does show emotion tword excellen durring OG1 -and OG2 as said by Ryusei "no he is pissed and i mean really pissed" when excellen got kiddnaped and brainwashed twice.
@ssjmega yea he was so pissed, that's why people confused him with being calm about it. after that he goes back to being his old self. sure he does act like a stuck up douche in the beginning of OG1, but he seemed already aware of the hardships of war, like, 3 missions later when he fought tenzan. and his feeling for excellan are only mentioned, not shown. and he still is a stuck up douche in OG2. he retains his militant demeanor even around his comrades, when no one else is around
@BrotherhoodOfTheDead well you got me there i will consead defeat but i put up a good fight and i will not judge you because you hate a character that i find as interesting. you enjoy a main character that is the same as a large majority of other main characters but i feel like taking a main character that is different and acts appone ...different actions and intents. now let us go on our different ways and stick to what we think not judging others on the thinking. i injoyed the argument though.
@ssjmega im almost 100% sure that you only find him interesting because how he looks. Im sure if he had the appearance of Porkins you wouldn't be a fan. Just sayin
@BrotherhoodOfTheDead well think what you think ...wait ...*ahem* why did that just sound like you are calling me gay... ok back to the conversation, you say you think i like the character because of looks... no, i have only seen 2-4 pics of the character... i could care less, all i care about is the character's actions, looks have nothing to do with it... i mean where did you come up with that. i will ask you at least this ...why do YOU like ryusei, that is something i have not heard.
@ssjmega i'm not calling you gay. its perfectly normal to think someone looks "cool." He's a young attractive man who gets women, what man wouldn't want to be him? I like Ryusei because half of the male cast in SRW are the typical cryptic, post-war scarring stoic stuck up assholes, that Ryusei is quite a refreshing change. He reminds me a lot of Judau Ashta (greatest anime protagonist) a happy-go-lucky pilot who retains his happy nature even after realizing the horrors of war.
@BrotherhoodOfTheDead that i can agree ryusei is a new face and that a couple of the cast have some traits from kyusoke but then again there are people like ryusei as well (irm, excellen, guy with the purple hair and bandana ect) so i will only say that the 2 characters as equal in there own right.
Does anybody else think, the Alt's Upgrade was dissapointing? I mean, the Alteisen Riese isn't that much bigger... All he got is a bigger Stake and more Claymore.
His full name is actually the Alteisen Nacht, which means "Scrapmetal Night" in German. He, along with Excellen's mech, Weisritter Abend (Which means White Knight Evening in German) make quite the combo, especially in Mugen No Frontier EXCEED : Super Robot Taisen OG Saga.
Its actually a sound idea when you think about it. A bullet with a spike would do more damage. The revolver stake is basically hitting them with a spiked bullet that wieghs several tons. The only reason it isnt god mode is because of the short range - Otherwise you have a bullet that can go through damn near ANYTHING.
Spiky bullet with the weight of a 20something metre tall robot and no loss of power due to short range. The bunker just turns that up to eleven.
yeah, who think the idea of creating a Revolver Stake anyway? Creatinve and effective weapon actualy, and i love it when it hits.. and thay just go. *Blam Blam BlamBlam Blam Blam*
Take note... theres no mech using that kind of weapon.. is it?
I have to agree with Kyosuke himself, it is the stupidest-looking mech I've seen. Weirdest weapon set, no specialty in either short-range or infighting... but it just works. And I just don't get why, but it kicks ass. XD

yeah I know that but I simply decided to interperet as what I stated since it does destroys the enemeny with pure blunt force most of the time (the claymores and the revolver stake)
Alteisen does mean old iron/metal in German but it's actually used more as an idiom for Scrap metal, A reference to impaling things with shrapnel with the claymores.
If you look at how the alt attacks with the stake you can tell it emptys a few shots into its opponent with a gun barrel just above the actual stake. I'm sure the stake by itself couldnt do nearly as much damage. Anyway its easier to tell when u look at the reise that it shoots something when it uses the stake.
ooookay, don't chew me out for this but.... has anyone considered that the stake could be the barrel of the gun in this case perhaps it opens up after impact? or more likely it works something like a gunblade does or how I understand it works, The blade/spike receives an energy charge (at least in the basic Alt) and the bullets are some sort of energy canisters?? I dunno, but If you listen closely to the SFX in OG1 it sounds like electricity right? maybe it fries the other mech's systems.Discuss
the electricty was likely a badly done sound effect cuz in all other versions it sounds like a shotgun. The Stake is just a stake. From the OVA is would seem that the stake fires towards the rear causing the stake to be thrust into the enemy
Hmm, it would appear that you're right about that, it said so in a mech bio I found a few days ago, sorry I'm still playing OG1 so all I've heard is the bad sound effect XD
Not so, if you have Kyosuke use "Trump Card" you'll hear several explosions as he releases individual Revolver Stakes into the enemy, so it could just be two modes. and then there's the electricity graphical effect. and from what I've seen of the OGs videos, he uses the plasma stake in the same way during normal activation (stabbing an enemy, raising them over his head then detonating the plasma stake) whereas in OG, he just stabs & shocks them.
Ok actually, scratch anything I'd said before.Upon analyzing the trump card animation, I believe I've come to the a logical conclusion. If you notice at the end of the trump card attack he emptys the spent rounds from the barrel. Then it occured to me, the answer has been staring us in the face. What is actually fired are as the name implies "Stakes", when he uses the revolver stake actual ridiculously large stakes are driven into the enemy mech.Which explains why the stake pops out after reload.
The stake is the weapon itself. Think of it like a battering ram. The stake is set in a position and then a charge is fired shooting the stake out and into the enemy. Stake retracts new charge is loaded, rinse and repeat until out of charges.
I don't think so see that dull point next to the slots for the bullets. I think thats where the bullets come out i think the stake is more of a capture thing for point blank bullet attacks. The stakes are too large for the revolver to hit(seeing from my model of Alt) the stake is about twice the size as the slots for the bullets.
It's funny, I thought I could search for this easily due to the fact that Beowulf is mispelled, but I still wound up getting nothing but clips from the movie Beowulf (or should I say, "Beowolf"). That damn movie is making referencing an epic poem no longer cool.
It's up already, but it's known as "Flapper Girl". That's the Japanese name, and these people refuse to acknowledge the official English names. Not that they don't mean pretty much the same thing anyway... Tomcat is just a word that's actually still used after the 1940s.
yea but some jap names are better too. Take Excellens theme for example, in English its White Knight, which isnt bad at all. But Platinum Lucifer sounds WAAAY better.
Of course, with the way America is, the name Lucifer probably wouldn't fly with the market. I don't necessarily disagree with you though. Also, I said some cases, not all.
well i need to correct myself on Excellens theme in English, its called Fallen White Angel not White Knight (must've been reading Axels theme right after Excellens)
So its a little easier to draw the connection with Platinum Lucifer to Fallen White Angel
First off, that whole claim is entirely subjective. Personally, I think that making a direct reference to Lucifer isn't even remotely fitting for Excellen, even a platinum one. A fallen angel, on the other hand (especially a white one), sums her up much better. "Platinum Lucifer" is simply gratuitous English with a reference to a mythological figure most Japanese don't understand properly. After that, the whole "no Satan references" thing just makes it easier to decide whether to change it.
Platinum Lucifer IS the original name of Excellen's theme. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Take the original japanese writing and then translate, it WILL come out to Platinum Lucifer
Not to get biblical here, but Lucifer is a fallen angel.
Platinum is classified as a type of white metal.
Knowing the amount of bible thumpers in the US, it makes sense for Lucifer to get changed to Fallen Angel to avoid any direct references and Plainum to White and you get Fallen White Angel.
The only time I've seen SRW themes be subjective to what it should be called is Shu's Theme. Traditionally its been known as Dark Prison, in the US its called Man in the Dark. Directly translated from japanese, the themes name comes out something that sounds like Dark Person, which if thats the case I can see it getting translated to Dark Prison or Dark Person/Man in the Dark.
Interestingly enough the name Lucifer originally meant Lightbringer, perhaps the Japanese realised this and used it in the naming of the song for that reason instead of making a reference to Satan. Platinum Lightbringer, that sounds something like Excellen
i think hes referring to beowulf (aka kyosuke from the shadow mirror) since the red markings, speeches, and personal trooper all imply that hes part of the einst collective.
Who else wished there was a Super Robot called the ATX with Kyosuke as the main pilot!

This is a true mech theme!Kyosuke and Alteisen are one of the best mechs I ever see!
Alteisen92 3 years ago
If you look at how the alt attacks with the stake you can tell it emptys a few shots into its opponent with a gun barrel just above the actual stake. I'm sure the stake by itself couldnt do nearly as much damage. Anyway its easier to tell when u look at the reise that it shoots something when it uses the stake.
hawkwing185 3 years ago
ooookay, don't chew me out for this but.... has anyone considered that the stake could be the barrel of the gun in this case perhaps it opens up after impact? or more likely it works something like a gunblade does or how I understand it works, The blade/spike receives an energy charge (at least in the basic Alt) and the bullets are some sort of energy canisters?? I dunno, but If you listen closely to the SFX in OG1 it sounds like electricity right? maybe it fries the other mech's systems.Discuss
BrokenWings0ZE 3 years ago
the electricty was likely a badly done sound effect cuz in all other versions it sounds like a shotgun. The Stake is just a stake. From the OVA is would seem that the stake fires towards the rear causing the stake to be thrust into the enemy
LM314V21 3 years ago
Hmm, it would appear that you're right about that, it said so in a mech bio I found a few days ago, sorry I'm still playing OG1 so all I've heard is the bad sound effect XD
BrokenWings0ZE 3 years ago
Not so, if you have Kyosuke use "Trump Card" you'll hear several explosions as he releases individual Revolver Stakes into the enemy, so it could just be two modes. and then there's the electricity graphical effect. and from what I've seen of the OGs videos, he uses the plasma stake in the same way during normal activation (stabbing an enemy, raising them over his head then detonating the plasma stake) whereas in OG, he just stabs & shocks them.
Arkonae 3 years ago
Ok actually, scratch anything I'd said before.Upon analyzing the trump card animation, I believe I've come to the a logical conclusion. If you notice at the end of the trump card attack he emptys the spent rounds from the barrel. Then it occured to me, the answer has been staring us in the face. What is actually fired are as the name implies "Stakes", when he uses the revolver stake actual ridiculously large stakes are driven into the enemy mech.Which explains why the stake pops out after reload.
BrokenWings0ZE 3 years ago
The explosions from the rounds propel the stake into the enemy splitting its armor and the stake then retracts so yeah it is a bit like a gunblade.
6CTCEL 3 years ago
In The anime its Bullets not electricity
acarmelo1 3 years ago
but even with that the stake is still the twice the size of the barrel.
I personally follow cloudzeroriku's. Thats what i think.
StressedoutGamer 3 years ago
Naw, look very carefully near the bottom of alts wrist. theres a small barrel there. thats the revolver barrel.
cloudzeroriku 3 years ago
Actually, I think that's the revolver for the autocannon...
Arkonae 3 years ago
the autocannon is on the other arm man.
cloudzeroriku 3 years ago
I don't get it, the stakes are longer than the chambers themsleves, how does that work?!!? its mind bogleling!!
tastykimchiOFDOOM 3 years ago
Most gun barrels are longer than the chambers. Especially guns that are meant to be stabbed into the enemy before firing.
Socran 3 years ago
i mean like the stake isn't rly a barrel...its more like the ammo itself
tastykimchiOFDOOM 3 years ago
The stake is the weapon itself. Think of it like a battering ram. The stake is set in a position and then a charge is fired shooting the stake out and into the enemy. Stake retracts new charge is loaded, rinse and repeat until out of charges.
Trent957 3 years ago 2
o never thougt of it that way thx
tastykimchiOFDOOM 3 years ago
I don't think so see that dull point next to the slots for the bullets. I think thats where the bullets come out i think the stake is more of a capture thing for point blank bullet attacks. The stakes are too large for the revolver to hit(seeing from my model of Alt) the stake is about twice the size as the slots for the bullets.
StressedoutGamer 3 years ago
The rise however seems more possible for the stake to be the bullets.
StressedoutGamer 3 years ago
try imagine...
you hold a revolver gun, and at the barrel, try putting a spring action spike.. there you have it..
A revolver Stake..
its different from pneumatic drill/ impact hammer in real..
it uses the bullet's explosion to move the stake, as it was an impact drill.. lol..
amadarian 2 years ago 2
I wish they had a gun like that in real life
hell, i'd grab a desert eagle and tie a hunting knife to the bottom of the gun to get something like that..

One of these days, Kyosuke's gonna run out of card puns and just shout "Uno!" as he stakes someone.
Socran 3 years ago 7
Better yet, he'll unload absolutely everything in his arsenal except for one Revolver Stake bullet before saying Uno. And then he'll stake them.
Socran 3 years ago 6
Uno is a hell of a lot better than, "Go Fish!"
I mean...
Kyosuke: Here's my trump card!
Enemy: Go fish!
Kyosuke: What?! *Miss*
TimPowerGamer 3 years ago 6
"This is my trump card! Unleashing all my ammo into you even though there are still 100 more enemy mechs to destroy!"

It's funny, I thought I could search for this easily due to the fact that Beowulf is mispelled, but I still wound up getting nothing but clips from the movie Beowulf (or should I say, "Beowolf"). That damn movie is making referencing an epic poem no longer cool.
But Kyosuke's still badass.

If you take requests. Can you please put up Tomcat or whatever the Valsiones/lunes theme is
laserviper 4 years ago
It's up already, but it's known as "Flapper Girl". That's the Japanese name, and these people refuse to acknowledge the official English names. Not that they don't mean pretty much the same thing anyway... Tomcat is just a word that's actually still used after the 1940s.
Socran 4 years ago
In my case, I refuse to except the Japanese names in some cases.
Woman the Cool Spy? What the hell does that mean?
TimPowerGamer 3 years ago
yea but some jap names are better too. Take Excellens theme for example, in English its White Knight, which isnt bad at all. But Platinum Lucifer sounds WAAAY better.
Trent957 3 years ago
Of course, with the way America is, the name Lucifer probably wouldn't fly with the market. I don't necessarily disagree with you though. Also, I said some cases, not all.
TimPowerGamer 3 years ago
well i need to correct myself on Excellens theme in English, its called Fallen White Angel not White Knight (must've been reading Axels theme right after Excellens)
So its a little easier to draw the connection with Platinum Lucifer to Fallen White Angel
Trent957 3 years ago
First off, that whole claim is entirely subjective. Personally, I think that making a direct reference to Lucifer isn't even remotely fitting for Excellen, even a platinum one. A fallen angel, on the other hand (especially a white one), sums her up much better. "Platinum Lucifer" is simply gratuitous English with a reference to a mythological figure most Japanese don't understand properly. After that, the whole "no Satan references" thing just makes it easier to decide whether to change it.
Socran 3 years ago
Platinum Lucifer IS the original name of Excellen's theme. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Take the original japanese writing and then translate, it WILL come out to Platinum Lucifer
Not to get biblical here, but Lucifer is a fallen angel.
Platinum is classified as a type of white metal.
Knowing the amount of bible thumpers in the US, it makes sense for Lucifer to get changed to Fallen Angel to avoid any direct references and Plainum to White and you get Fallen White Angel.
Trent957 3 years ago
*Double post but has to be done*
The only time I've seen SRW themes be subjective to what it should be called is Shu's Theme. Traditionally its been known as Dark Prison, in the US its called Man in the Dark. Directly translated from japanese, the themes name comes out something that sounds like Dark Person, which if thats the case I can see it getting translated to Dark Prison or Dark Person/Man in the Dark.
Trent957 3 years ago
Interestingly enough the name Lucifer originally meant Lightbringer, perhaps the Japanese realised this and used it in the naming of the song for that reason instead of making a reference to Satan. Platinum Lightbringer, that sounds something like Excellen

hey.. it's Sword that Serves Evil..

Your really stupid aren't ya?
Sanger Zombolt's Theme is call "Sword that Smites Evil"

i think hes referring to beowulf (aka kyosuke from the shadow mirror) since the red markings, speeches, and personal trooper all imply that hes part of the einst collective.
