It would be a good idea to learn how to get back in the kayak without help. One method is to use a 'paddle float' which you can get for about $20 at any store that sells kayak equipment. You probably paddle alone at times and since you like to stand up in the kayak you will most likely be in the water again sooner or later.

man when I got back in the boat and that fucken thing was still close by (like it was) I would swap it full stregnth with my oar from 90 degrees up it the air using both hands holding the oar hitting it perfectly vertical on the thin side of the oar and if it wounded it bad enough to still be there after I raised the oar 90 degrees over my head again...id really try hard to lay into swapping it harder then I did the 1st time, possibly causing me to fall back in the water.
