  • ewwww

  • the first one is a yellow sturgeon.nice one

  • damn im a huge catfishing guy but i need to go after a paddlefish i think

  • What a whale, just got back fishin for white bass and had a blast! Caught one a bit over 4 pounds.

  • @czent09 - So what your saying is I shouldn't have ate the 20 lb paddle fish I caught below the wing dam NE of Lockwood on the Yellowstone river (snagged with Crank Bait while fishing for smallmoutn)?

  • Nice vid.

  • you can only catch and keep one paddlefish a year which you have to tag.. you can catch as many as you want on catch and release days. you snag them and you cant use a hook bigger than a 10-0 anymore in montana..

  • I have heard that paddlefish is one of the best tasting game fish

  • actually u can only catch a paddle fish on one day of each year and u have to snag them because there plankton eaters i say one one time longer than 6 feet in tablerock lake!

  • That is... a very scary fish. His eyes have a lot of movement. Mouth on the bottom of the head.

  • What bait do you use? A big #10 or 12 treble hook and a good sized weight. You snag Spoonbills/Paddlefish.

  • you can't tag the fish if it is caught on a catch and realease day.

  • nice spoony...was that sturgeon a shovelnose?

  • wat bait u use

  • you dont use bait with a paddle fish u HAVE too snag it!

  • The fish that the gentleman in the video called a drum is actually a river carpsucker, just thought I'd let you know.

  • It is to a Drum, just thought I'd let you know. Cut out the ivories and everything.

  • those almost became extinct.dont belive me? search a tribute to prehistoric fish

  • Ive caught many of these .... where bouts r u catching these?

  • I Lived in Glendive Mt .I thought you had to tag the firt fish caught.they were snagging them.

  • looks like a shark, the paddlefish i mean

  • You all are really so nice. You put them back. Some people just like to waste food, you all did not. God bless

  • 2:02 was a rainbow trount right? and is this the mississipi river

  • no it was a drum

  • It is a carpsucker!

If you would like to see a slideshow of different species with the name of the species written there I have one called "How many kinds have you caught?" A carpsucker is a rare catch and I have managed 2 of the 3 kinds. Congrats on a rare catch.

  • You bunch of idiots that fish is a Drum.

  • It is sad to be so ignorant! There are many ID books that will prove the point.

  • It was a quilback carpsucker ya putz.... learn your fish.

  • You are the putz that is a Drum... learn your fish!

  • carp

  • OMFG ARNT PADDLE FISH RARE

  • depends on where you are

  • In North Dakota the paddle fish help themselves by the roe being donated when they are kept. The roe is then sold and the proceeds go to conservation of the Paddle fish. There are very strict regs on paddlefish and if you fish during the season to keep them you must keep the first fish you snag and then you are done!

  • u have ta snag them they wont bite

  • how do you catch these? Oh, and good video.nice paddlefish

  • such weird fish , paddlefish but thy really are brilliant.

  • paddle fish rock

  • Nice fish, and great to see another catch and release man. I have no qualms about people keeping their catch, but so many fish go to waste, it's disturbing. This one lives to fight another day, to bring excitement to another angler. They are a magnificent species, a fossil that's still arouund...

  • NICE PaddleFish

  • Cut head and tail off.Where The fish gets about 4 inches around use electric knife cut to gristle around the spine then raise up 1/2" above spine then cut it the length of the fish put it on table skin side down. Cut the meat just above the red meat cut the white meat away leaving 1 inch thick slab of red meat and skin on the table. Trim any red meat off. Soak the white meat in salt water for 2 hrs do not use hot water. Rinse fish and they are ready to cook.

  • dont u take the head off and pull the spine out or something i from cleveland ohio and we go to st louis missouri every easter to snag in the mississippi river snagging always just gave the paddlefish away to some1 else cuz we dont know how to cook it

  • hope you saw my post on how to clean a spoonbill.just type in meatfishing to find it.will try to post a vidio of my brother cleaning one.he makes it look easy

  • boneless yes, but soak it in a little milk and then deep fry the shit out of it....yum.

  • yes they are good to eat, you should see how they clean them ill record it next time in may
