@michnmi Well I m not so well informed about the lyricist but as long as this song was first sang by Nikos Ksyloris , it stayed at people's hearts as a cretan song.Almost everyone would answer the same as me...

this song is from Xylouris or ksilouris (ξυλουρης) the name of the song is "itane mia fora" (ήτανε μια φορα). look for that. It's talk about a woman that wait for her husband to come back.
