Conflict is at the heart of drama, and the DJ is providing the perfect antagonist to Jamie's white hat personality. It's show business, and even "reality" television is about providing the entertainment to get the viewers to get the advertising dollars. The DJ is playing his part very well if this many people are commenting on him.

(N.Y. was called New Amsterdam when it was founded). Holland was a the most important country of Europe in the 1st half of 17th century. But nowadays its not much.
