  • you're great, Adam.

    ignore the crap from people.

  • Brilliant. I have been playing harp for 20 years but this guy makes me feel like I am just starting out. My favorite solo is Little Walter on "Messing with the Kid"

Keep up the fine work and great Vids.

  • i dont get it. i hav one of those little kids harmonicas, with a little plastic teddy bear on it, but whenever i blow it, it just sounds rusty and... broken. i have lost faith in toys r us... =(

  • Hey Adam, I took a listen to the original and you're right about it sounding like both Walters--to the point where I thought it might even have been Cotton if recorded later. Anyway, it was the Marion Jacobs Walter. Great videos and dedication through the heat!

  • Adam, it's a shame that people don't listen. I know that you said that this isn't for beginners, but I picked up an F harp and started watching you and Jason Ricci around Christmas. Thanks to your advice, and a lot of dedicated practice (1-2 hrs/day) I played on stage with friends at the solstice concert. THANK YOU FOR GIVING IT AWAY!!!

  • sweeeeet style'n Adam.

  • great vid,you realy know your stuff adam, thanks again for sharing.

  • all good

  • I should have said that it was a cool coincidence that I was watching the concert video as I found your recent lesson.

    Thanks Adam

  • I'm looking at George Harmonica Smith ,1971 live with Muddy on a D harp

    MH

  • Yes, Muddy recorded that song with several different players. My comments about "the Walters" on the video were strictly about the original recording.

  • I found a Paul Butterfield with muddy on a C harp also

  • more inspireing blues harp positivity from the dirty south blues harp chanel. - It's priceless - Thanks

  • Great clip as always Adam. Cheers.

  • great impro.love your lessons but really love to hear you play.

  • Thanks for another great lesson Adam. It's great to be able to learn things on many different harps rather than be restricted to the same old lessons in C that 95% of tutorials seem hell-bent on regurgitating.

Since each harp (key) has a different feel, I like the way you cover material on a range of keys. It's an essential part of a total harmonica diet. : )

  • Thank you for the lesson. MY copy of the BEST of MUDDY WATERS says it is James Cotton.

  • Muddy recorded the songs two or three times. I believe Cotton played the track on HARD AGAIN.

  • Adam.

This probably sounds so disigenuos so many times said, but:

    Thanks again.

Your contribution to the current world of harpist, and those who may take up harpin', owe you and unpayable debt of gratitude for your kindness and your humble nature.

    Peace.

  • It's a real treat to see easy, effortless way old school masters could switch between tempos and musical modalities.

For the record, I think a lesson on "Can't Be Satisfied" would be a true gem.

It's ironic you mention that particular song though, in light of tomahawkpaul's post.

You certainly don't owe your subscribers anything.

The overwhelming majority of your viewers are gratful for the posts you do.

Others will complain no matter how much stuff you give away.

    Thanks always!

  • Thanks Adam, very well done and helpful.

    See you.

  • You promised to give it all away.

  • At this point I've uploaded almost exactly 24 hours of free harmonica instructional videos here at YT: 140 videos x ten minutes per video = 1400 minutes, divided by 60 minutes per hour = 23.3 hours. The only song I haven't covered is "Can't Be Satisfied," but I can see that I just may have to do that.

  • Don't get me wrong, I do not intend an insult. Just reiterating your original thought in first video you claimed you were giving it all away. For GOd's sake don't loose focus.

  • Good grief! Adam gives plenty, more than anyone else that I know of. No good deed goes unpunished I guess.

  • BoZO I don't know what the hell your problem is but because you suck I'm unsubscribing. Try to understand how to keep your nose out of other peoples intention dink.

  • ROFLMAO

  • Thanks Adam. Of course any decent harp player can translate what you teach to any key of harp and if folks are really dedicated, then they either have or should plan on getting all the keys that they might be called on to play for any given song.

  • Paul, You have to be kidding - right? Do you have any clue about how much Adam has sacrificed of his time, talent and passion to deliver hundreds of incredible lessons for FREE? If one misses the mark for you and that's gonna send you packing - hasta la vista.

  • Please unsubscribe. Actually, I'll help you by canceling your subscription. As I made clear in my very first videos and have repeated from time to time, this channel is NOT oriented towards beginners--i.e., players who hope to master the instrument with the help of one old beat-up C harp. This channel is for players who have a few harps--if not necessarily an E--and some experience. Beginners are welcome to listen in on the conversation, but you're whining.

  • Dear Mr. Gussow, fortunately there's plenty of guys out there who are blessing the day they've met you on the web and that are immensely appreciating your job. Thanks for your lessons.

  • dude ,, your totally ungreatfull with no respect for people that try to help you ,Im only just learning the harp and its still fun trying to learn it on a different key , , no one gona miss ya if you unsudscribe anyways

    Later

Rock on Adam . your doing a great job an totally behind what you do ,

Can tell you enjoy doing it ,

    Cheers

  • Adam, the very first harp I bought 35 years ago was a Blues Harp in the key of E. I knew I wanted to play the blues, so I figured it had to be a Blues Harp. I was dimly aware that guitars were tuned to the key of E, and I knew I wanted to play in a band with guitars, so it had to be an E harp. I was an idiot.

I played that harp until it was wrecked. I still love the sound of an E harp; the way you can chirp and pop the reeds.

    Thanks for another great lesson.

  • Not much worse than having a broken reed harpooned to your uvula! EEEE-youch !

    Good stuff Adam!
