  • Grumpy twat.

  • Thank you Miss Yorke:(

  • I'd rather have Justin Bieber....

  • You forget he was just doing his job....

  • I agree in a sense but overall that's what interviews are about. We as fans would like to know what's going on with the band.

  • Jesus that low rumbling noise in the background and the extreme close up make an uncomfortable combination.

  • I think he made a very good point

  • he did not have to participate in the interview. there was no need for him to be ugly or arrogant toward the interviewer. it's nothing but full-diaper artiste posturing.

  • Got to eventually agree to have an interview explaining that you dont want them anymore. Radiohead is the best band ever.

  • You tell him Thom!

  • The dumb interviewer kept asking after thom said he had a problem with them, fucking IDIOT

  • Comment removed

  • I fucking hate media bull shit, way to stick it to the twats, Thom!

Maybe people should just enjoy living their own life?

Who gives a fuck about other random details of others lives...

  • this is AWSOME who the fuck said its akward!!!!for thom

the fucking journalist might have felt akward for shitting on everything he learned in his school

fuck u for shitting on JOURNALISM

rule 1) of every interview KNOW WAT THE PERSON DOSENT WANT TO B ASKED ABOUT!!!

rule 2) DONT CALL ANYONE TO embassas THEM OR in this VIDEO urFUCKINGself

    ;

i could go on but as thom says it (2:06 -2:08)

  • GET DENIED SON!!!

  • Even though they've not broken up yet, he sort of gave the band an amount of time to live when he said, "I do not want to be answering questions like that for the next f---ing five years."

So, unfortunately, the guy did get some dirt out of him.

  • not awkward fucking brilliant. love you yorke!

  • Thom i fucking LOVE you!

  • Poor guy is being interrogated.

Clearly he doesn't want to talk about it, the interviewer needs to fucking shut up. -_-

  • His relationship is probably extremely personal with the band members, I hate how people always wants to know every single thing about a famous person. He didn't want to talk about, but that dude still kept going.

  • Comment removed

  • this guy kinda scares the fuck out of me.

  • I agree with the top comments for the most part, but he does come off as a little pretentious here, doesn't he? But as explained before, it is easily justified and that's why he comment with that kind of attitude.

  • @aijunk2 Maybe it was very personal for him, maybe made thom really uncomfortable, I mean she keep shrugging because of his low self esteem. Besides the guy keep asking him, he didn't start getting mad after the guy ask him like 3 more times so you can't blame him. Of course he might be a little pretentious, Radiohead has made amazing records and been hailed by critics and fans everywhere, if that doesn't make you a little pretentious then what does? It's your opinion, I'm just saying.

  • Thom Yorke is a badass.

  • The interviewer probably didn't write these questions himself, he was probably terribly uncomfortable ha

  • hes is right, not rude... its no-ones business.

  • He's fucking rude. If you're not going to answer questions, then maybe you should stop doing interviews again.

  • I think I read somewhere the band wasn't at their happiest place during the Kid A time. That would explain why Thom was a bit more annoyed by those questions than usual.

  • I'm in love with him.

  • i hate this interviewer, thom was trying his best to be polite, you could tell, but he just HAD to keep asking dumb ass personal questions

  • well of course hes not gonna answer questions that could potentially have repercussions within the relationships of the band like thom says thats bad practice.

  • i agree with him !!!

IT'S NOT UR FUCKING BUSINESS ...SO SHUT THE FUCK UP AND DON'T ASK ME THE QUESTIONS WHICH ARE NOT UR BUSINESS !

    I LOVE U RADIOHEAD :)

  • He's so honest. A great and inspirational man.

  • Answered the questions like a boss.

  • I've never liked him before, but I have to admit that he seems like a top guy. He's bang on about the media and his comments on Bjork were nice too. I'm not really into his music much but nobody can deny that he and the rest of the band are brilliantly talented. Good man.

  • The interview people should REALLY study musicians/celebs before they plan interviews!! Everyone should know Thom is a mysterious guy, and doesn't like to be asked stupid questions. Plus, those were stupid questions to begin with! The only person that would be open to all that bullshit is popstars and Liam Gallagher.

  • Thom please stop crying. You have fans that want to know. Can you get over that? Just smile and go to the next question. You don't have any real problems. STFU you moody bitch.

  • Thom has a point, but its an interviewers job to ask you questions, whether or not its personal. He shouldn't have done the interview in the first place. Rock on Radiohead

  • i remember wanting a watch like that in the 90s

  • what watch is he wearing? i want one

  • He has a similar attitude to lou reed

  • i`m sure he is high in this video and some of his answers are influenced by his state of mind.

  • yorke is right to protect his privacy. but i hate I HATE the cold attitude from him. i'm mean it's the journalist's job unfortunately to fish for crap information. you can't blame the journalists. ppl generally like that stuff. so there is no need for yorke to be so cold about it ): . a little too dramatic from him :P. i don't mind him hiding the info. that's a good thing! but just the tone is just wayy too bad.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm glad to see a band be able to maintain their own privacy.

  • Thom York handled this extremely well, the damn dutchie journalist kept fishing for it. "because it's our buisiness. i have problem with people ask me this." there is your response, now move the fuck on.

  • He's a moody little bitch.

  • @NBAballToWalls unprofessional? They make music; that's it. They're not exactly 'working' for anyone, nor do they have some ridiculous image to uphold; they can do and say as they please. They're not some manufactured pop shit with no grasp on reality; a permanent fucking smile on their idiotic faces and being told what and when to say something coz they can't manage think on their own. It was clearly a difficult time for them and let's not pretend that most of us wouldn't react in the same way.

  • how about you don't put any of your new music in the public domain, that way none of us plebs will ask you about it!

  • @saltydalty123 Well, to be fair, he did say 'no' and then was further pressed by the interviewer. So he said he didn't want to answer questions like these.

  • Wow that interviewer is a fucking idiot..

  • watch?v=p6ZR9ZSLxqo

  • i think the continuous yes was your sign to shut up interviewer. treat these guys with respect not getting into their business like the whole media world does. i hate the media

  • fuck yes

  • love it when he says no

  • he speaks similar to Syd Barrett....ofcourse Syd was faaaar more out there...!

  • Interviewer: When is your next album being released?

Thom: Hey mate, it's none of your fukcing business.

Intervewer: Can you be more specific?

    Thom: No

  • Such fucking dumb questions

  • i dont get why this is named 'awkward,' maybe a little funny, maybe a little dramatic, but not really awkward

  • haha I can't believe the title of this video still hasn't been changed, didn't know we were in the dark ages.

  • 1:00 look at his smile - It's a sweet secret i'm not gonna let you in on ^^

  • he's funny as hell!

  • I totally agree with him, they aren't bandmates, they are friends. If they had personal problems then why should it be seen as strange that he wants to keep them personal to maintain a friendship. I adore radiohead but couldn't give a shit of they had problems because I have no right to expect to know everything about their lives.

  • @Blinkyboy99 I have a brother with autism too.... Somehow i just felt like saying it, my name is lasse btw :)

  • A musicians' job is to make music. And they do it fucking well. What else do you need to know?

  • Not to mention, these items were probably addressed and talked about before the camera was even on. A hack would still ask the questions anyways when they know what the response will be.

  • i'm not much of a fan, but the guy is right. it's no one else's business. media and teenage satisfaction tabloid music writers always want dirt, even if there is none. If they can help stir up rumors of a breakup or turmoil, then its great for them. Shitty for the band then has to deal or dismiss it all. It's best not to be juvenile and discuss things regarding your friends without them present.

  • @Blinkyboy99 he doesnt have autism. he just has a fucked up eye, is all. lol

  • Genius

  • that was SHORT AND SWEET. and the worst thing is the stubborn interviewer insisting on thom answering that bloody question.

  • As a Dutchmen, I apologize for this fucking retarted interviewer.

  • @Blinkyboy99

    Not that I've heard.

  • I love this guyyy. He is great and expresses his emotions freely. Protects himself instead of giving into pressure from the media. That takes a lot of guts.

  • @Blinkyboy99 Probably you have autism.

  • Bad interviewer.

  • His right.

  • not what he says, but the way he says it, creates a wall between the listener and his music, doesn't it? I don't care about the crazy stuff happening in radiohead, i couldn't care less, but I feel as if he's angry with us, fans, don't you guys? I know he's not, but because of his attitude, I feel sad and humiliated. Just saying there could be more tact in his words. He could laugh it off, and not say anything, there's no need for anger, is there :(

  • @theK0OKS I actually agree with you. Honestly, he's a rock star. It's the territory. Suck it up. He could have said "The band has our ups and downs, but we move on and keep making music' and left it at that. I dont think the interviewer was that much out of line. Yorke made a solo album so people were probably curious. If he was pressed on whether he was leaving the band "That's not on the table at this point". They're very easy questions.

  • @KCJacksonMuz indeed, but i am 99% sure there were people before this interviewer who have messed up yorke's sympathy towards the global "interviewer"

  • Thom is awesome.

  • This was pretty awkward. Imagine being the interviewer, Oh gosh!

  • Interviewer: How has the relationship between the band members changed?

Thom Yorke: None of your fucking business. I do not want be answering questions like that for the next fucking five years and if I do, well... I'll just stop doing interviews again because its a fucking waste of time.

Interviewer: What is your penis size?

Thom Yorke: 6 inches. 11 when erect.

Interviewer: How is your relationship between your girlfriend coming along?

    Thom Yorke: Which one?

  • @oozium1198 LMAO

  • @oozium1198 THAT WAS GREAT

  • @oozium1198 Hahahahaha

  • @oozium1198 that is fucking brilliant

  • HI, IM THOM YORKE, IF YOU INTERVIEW ME OR ANY OF MY OTHER DISTINGUISHED BAND MATES WHO ARE ALSO AMAZING MUSICIANS, YOU MAY NOT ASK ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THINGS YOU DON'T DONT I WONT ANSWER.

I CHOSE THE QUESTIONS FROM NOW ONE, YEAH!?

    what a cunt

  • @RDprodx I'm struggling to make sense of that comment you just made

  • @9t9t3

basically - if he doesn't like being interviewed, stop doing them.

He knows that interviewers will ask the same questions, him complaining wont change anything he comes across as a grumpy cunt.

Don't like it? Stop doing interviews..

  • @RDprodx true true mate, but he may think that every new interviewer may not be a cunt, maybe he is just giving them a chance

  • @9t9t3

if i were him I'd be grateful for any attention and give the interviewer opportunity to ask questions, even if they did come up before - how was he to know what's been asked?

  • @RDprodx True, and I think that the question asked wasn't THAT personal, so I don't understand why he replied so negatively.

  • My english teacher talk with me after he see this interview: "You speak like him, you have a bad pronunciation". I felt held.

  • thom is open and honest, if he doesn't wish to share info on the band that's his choice. And if the interviewer doesn't like it, is his problem I say!!!

  • this is a perfect example of why I fucking love this man.

  • i like it when he says douche.

  • Radiohead has been my favorite band since 5th grade..im about to turn 21 now and they still continue to blow my mind with every new song. I hope that their music will live on whenever they decide to stop making it. They have changed my life and I will forever be greatful.

  • i guess my search of hearing Yorke answer some deeper more personal questions ends here. good thing this was one of the first few.

lyrics will tell a man's soul. and Thom doesn't seem like one who will mask the reality he knows. lyrics, no matter what you feel when you listen to a song, tell you more about the song than anything else. has anyone ever just read through one of those lyric booklets that come with a cd? how about In Rainbows? anyone?

  • what a bad ass. i love you thom yorke.

  • i very appreciate that man

he is and radiohead are one of the finest musicians of our time

  • i very appreciate that man

he is and radiohead are on of the finest musicians of our time

  • The National Anthem at the end of the video

  • I wish more people would answer honestly instead of trying to charm the interviewer.

  • thom yorke is the MAN

  • Think about all the know-how invasion of media in the last twenty years...everybody just 'needs' to know everything/everything...about an average person life. They are...just average people. Fuck off is probably a fair response.

Maybe he was in a bad mood that day. Maybe anything...again none of our business. People mostly, these days are ingenuine. Alternative motives/bullshit, ass kissing cause his band got famous, etc. Are you pretending or am i?

  • This interviewer is either just retarded or a complete dick.

It was clear Thom wasn't wanting to talk about what he was asking and he just kept on asking again and again. I mean Thom was polite to him at first but I can understand him getting more and more angry.

  • best top comment ever

  • Everyone goes threw teenage angst. He just never got over his.

  • massive cockhead

  • ok he's right but he sould be more kind

  • good on you Thom, now that i think about it, interviewers do ask some stupid questions, some stuffs just private business and shouldnt be exposed to nosey fuckers like this

  • Stop bashing the interviewers in Thom Yorke interview videos. I know he's shy, but the reporters have no more against him than any other frontman.

  • People listen to radiohead to feel like their music taste is unique, and because they think that Thom Yorke comes up with genius lyrics.

Guys, I'm sorry, he's just admitted that he doesn't have a clue what his lyrics mean.

So radiohead fans, can you please stop criticising me for having a shit music taste just because I listen to other bands.

  • @oozium1198 Wrong. I listen to Radiohead because their music strikes a chord with me. There is no one definitive meaning to Thom's lyrics so they are very much open to various interpretations. If I wanted to have unique taste, I wouldn't be listening to one of the most popular, influential, festival headlining, bands of modern time. Don't blame it on us if you have shitty taste in music.

  • The term "Smal Talk" shouldn't even exist in my oppinion. If you don't haven annything to say then you shut just shut up. And thats exactly what every fucking interviewer asks you.

  • interviewer - were any difficulties in---(thom cuts him off)

    thom - yea

interviewer - can you be more specif-----(thom cuts him off again)

    thom - no

    lmaoooo i love thom yorke

  • I think that was a purposely reasonable response. He just said he didn't want to talk about it and they kept pressing him on the subject until he got a bit angry. What's awkward about that? Also, does Thom Yorke have a lazy eye or something? What is wrong with his eye?

  • @JoyousInsurrection it's dropping eyelid, some eye-paralyzed condition since birth.

  • @rylieynna Thanks, man.

  • @JoyousInsurrection

I meant PERFECTLY reasonable, not purposely.

  • Good for him. If he doesn't want to talk about it, then so WHAT? Shut up and move on.

  • @xDeeJay Well i felt like replying anyways, Seeing as im a pleb and all that, and plebs are generally very annoying people. And annoyance is something i thrive on :).I might be a plebeian. But at least my favourite musicians don't have the faces of a pleb. Thom Yorke looks like a pleb iron age farmer. He has the face of a pleb, A mouth that looks like he sucks pleb on a regular basis (which would explain his female like petty hormonal, attitude) & he even dresses like a peasant. PLEBS ROCK MOFO!

  • lol what a paranoid android

  • Anyone who thinks he's being pretentious or hypersensitive doesn't understand what it means to be in a band. Do you know how difficult it is to be in the spotlight with four other people for 20 years and have virtually zero public disagreements? That takes an incredible amount of self control, as demonstrated by Thom in this interview. The survival of the band is infinitely more important to these guys than entertaining an interviewer, which is exactly why they're still together making music.

  • @trojanpony Well-said. Thom is one of few rockstars who has managed to keep perspective throughout the fame. And he's 100% right, what happens behind closed doors between friends is no one else's business.

  • @trojanpony

Not only that but when you make music you have to have a certain amount of compromise and its tough when you have more then 1 creative person in the room.

  • @trojanpony I have a feeling I would endlessly weep if Radiohead ever broke up. I applaud Thom and the rest of the band for being able to say "No." to the media these days. Too many artists (people in general) are too worried about their image, and issue these huge public apologies should anyone have their feelings hurt. Radiohead's stance on it seems to be "Well, you like us or you don't."

  • @trojanpony what a dick interviewer! Thom: it's none of your business

Interviewer: Do you have a problem with this question?

    me: no well, duhh??

  • @trojanpony quit kissing ass. he was being a cunt.

  • @trojanpony At the same time, anyone who doesn't think Thom Yorke is a little pretentious has never listened to Radiohead. Honestly I think those are pretty fair questions unless it's for some tabloid publication that actually is trying to dig up dirt..

  • @09demonicslayer09 Dont get me wrong, I would never knock any1 who idolises thom. Each to thier own. But if thom is going to be regarded as a great British rock & roll export, then i think i want a bit more charisma to reperesent my country. He simply does not have the charisma or the swagger. Look at elton john, he is a stern man the same as york, But at least we get a bit more character and Wow factor from him. Not some know it all student with a pointless degree in art or pot noodle making

  • @wimblewomble21 If you think Yorke has no charisma or swagger then you haven't seen him perform live in the past 10 years. Also, I doubt if he gives two shites about being a great British rock & roll export.

  • @gamelanplan Yes i have. I have been to see radiohead play live in glasgow. All i saw was a man with his eyes closed, whailing alot of shite, and performing a very bad white boy shuffle. Watching him dance and performing on stage was fucking cringeworthy and embarassing. I felt even more embarassed that i auctualy payed 50 quid To watch an hours worth of shite. I might aswell have paid £6 to watch my local over 60's clubs annual dance contest. Thome yorkes no james brown. Thats for fucking sure.

  • @wimblewomble21 mmm, elton john............now there's groundbreaking music.....

  • @09demonicslayer09 Stop making excuses for him. Liam Gallagher has anxiety problems, and he can be the biggest prick in the world for time to time. BUT. He has never hurt or been a prick to anyone innocent who is just doing thier job. The same goes for Jay Kay aswell. I will admitt that i do like radioheads music. But radio is deffinatley not the hype it is made out to be. I think we can all look to the likes of elvis, prince and maddonana for great inspiration and good music

  • @09demonicslayer09 Well what else am i supposed to call him? Thats what the bampot is.Going around thinking the world owes him grattitude and respect, and being an attention seeking tit. Turning up at award ceremonys looking for attention and then acting the bigun by pretending he does not want attention by being rude to other perfectly decent human beings. He is ugly, and has an anglo saxon mentallity. U tell me what i am ment to call him???? The interviewer was just doing his job ffs!!!!

  • he shouldn't have had to make himself clear repeatedly. I've never interviewed anyone, but i'd probably wouldn't have kept on harassing him.

  • Hahaha yes! This so fuckin awesome. This interview will go down in history.

  • kudos to Thom for standing his ground. It's not our business to know the personal relationships between them.. they play for us, we listen , they appreciate us, we appreciate them. Simple.

  • if anything this interview makes me like him and radiohead even more

  • I don't blame Thom. He got dragged out to do this interview, and he shouldn't have to deal with questions that he thinks are personal, and he is right. Its nobody's business except there's.

  • @goodbye41 I totally agree! He's probably had to answer all these questions so many times before

  • I thought it was funny; do you people even realize how many of these shit interviews this guy has to do with people who could probably care less about real music? you're off your fuckin top if you think you'd have as much patience

  • ...He could shag your girlfriend any day of the f'''ing week ;)

  • Oh... And fyi. To you guys calling Yorke a fag. Make no mistake about it, your girlfriends would throw you to the curve, given the chance to bunk wit this guy... trust me ;)

  • ...To those of you who thinks that he's being an as, or a douche, or a fag or whatever. You're suffering from a social disease... He's reaction totally sane and justified. The journalist's just asking these questions so that he can shape into some kind of slanderous bull shit, just like he's creepy profession dictates. I feel for you guys...REALLY!!

  • OOOOOh! You're cute when you're dumb.

  • Jesus, how can anybody NOT take Yorke's side? Its a shame how stupid society is and im sure that Radiohead notices that...

  • Most people aren't going to go into detail about internal disputes and problems.. constantly persisting isn't going to get you anywhere, it'll just put the person concerned in a shit mood. Thom's right, it's noones business.

  • this is so odd to see!

  • That's not awkward, that's thom sticking up for his friends/bandmates privacy. GO THOM!

  • @benjaminkinkaidiris REALLY? MY DREAMS HAVE COME TRUE!:D:D:D:D

  • What a bro. It's obvious he's just bored out of his mind, and just wants to flip off the guy for shits and giggles.

  • Radiohead is a very unique group of individual, and if you are going to interview any of them it seems like it should be a top priority to at least know a little bit about the band so as not to piss them off and drive them into seclusion... again! Thom is a strange genius and he deserves the interviewers respect. This came accross as an interviewer trying to push Thom's buttons to make for better TV ratings. I think Thom is uncompromisingly genuine and noble for sticking up for his bandmates.

  • @mrloudogggy you don't understand, it's not a noble thing, it's not sticking up, it's annoyance with the media and the people interested in his private life. he's not a white knight, don't give me that fucking crap about his personality just enjoy the music and stop talking about it, for fuck's sake

  • It was an awkward question, not an awkward interview. He carries on with remarkable forgiveness after being asked that shite.

  • Thom. You Rock. If I could hang out with any musician, I would choose you. I like creating too. I'm absolutely terrible at fininshing things that I have begun. You see, I have a diagnosis, called paranoid schizophrenia. I have trouble with the thought that people like me for my art, rather than me as a person. But maybe it's the opposite and I just got so wrapped up in my artwork. I enjoy simple things in life. I'm a fan. Pocket full of SOngs. youtube--"adoptedsheep". peace, thom

  • "Cringe!"

  • i dont have anything against thom yorke but he probably shouldn't have agreed to do this interview if he had a problem giving basic info about the band

  • @butlerbulldogs05 - I think that's Thom's point. Radiohead splitting up is not just "basic info" - the media want a sound byte, some dirt or conflict to sell ... As Thom says if the album is complete & they are touring... talk about the music.

  • fuckin journalists...

  • the interviewer should have respected he didnt wanna talk about it and left it.

  • i didn't think that interview was awkward..?

  • @wimblewomble21

He deserves his own privacy and that is all that he has requested. He is a brilliant musician. It makes sense that he would want to be known and respected for his musical works and not have his image formed by the media's distorted view of his personal life.
