i went to central middle school in victoria bc from 1990 - 1993 when it was central jr high (grades 8 - 10) kathie cross (who they show a picture of) was my high school councilor. that was 16 - 19 years ago, my god has it been that long.....lol. had some pretty cool teachers - mr. haylet (english/librarian), kirk doherty (home room), mr scott (drama), terry leopky (home room), miss ryzak (art), mr piercy (wood shop), lol. councellor butch & patty (and kim for grade 9 while miss cross was pregs).

my cousin works at West Jet at victria intl airport and they had a big communication problem and they said there are probaley to many people using telecoms and stuff.

I'm sorry, what is your point? These students were using Ham radio; at the airport, if there were problems maybe it was in the cellular phone network.

Way to Go Central Middle School in Victoria,BC. I wish I had Hams that did that when I was a kid. Now I'm 58, and I'm taking a course in North Vancouver and hope to be licensed by the end of Feburary.

Hi Walter. Thank you for the kind words.

Right now we are in week 7 of our 10-week fall class; the students are learning basic electronics, circuits, resistors, capacitors, diodes, etc.

They are also doing 2m radio (voice) and in the Spring session (starting early January) we plan to do HF.

We are also videotaping some of the session work. Hope to have a new video up later next month.
