  • great song and video, I'm playing jazz sax to this!!!

  • I've been looking for this song for so long. I just loved partying in the 90's.

  • Omg!!!!...I was young girl when this came out!!..But I love this song!!..Thanks for posting!!!

  • Man I was 20 yrs old when this out used to get the dance floor packed. I used to use my brother Id to get in the club because I was too young .

  • Pretty crazy that they both died on the same date 2 years apart!

  • ashanti, lil' kim, nicki minaj combo

  • OMG I remember this song... I didn't know this was who sang it. Wow and to think I was only about two years old and I still remember it.

  • @SourAppleKandi Aww how sad :( Wow that was a well kept secret. The lead singer from Into was bisexual and died of AIDS too :(

  • @SourAppleKandi The information u got was all wrong. Dame died in a car accident and Damian died of colon cancer.

  • Loved this group! The album was so hot! Is it still available?

  • Tragedy befell this group unfortunately. I loved this song. Gone too soon. :-(

  • Best LaFace act!

  • @gina72916 WOW.. i love Damian Dame, but the best LaFace act was TLC,hands down! & dont forget about Miss Braxton.. RIP Debra & Bruce<3 Forever misssed;always remembered.

  • @xGOSSIPGIRL95

I loved TLC and Toni Braxton; however, all of those women put together could not "out blow" that small framed woman of Damian Dame. She blows the end of "Exclusivity" out of the water!. None of those women have such range. They were such a promising act - such a sad ending for them.

  • @gina72916 she can sing but she cant out sing Toni Braxton. She couldnt even attempt some of Toni's signature ballads or her range

  • @cchllover toni has two ranges -- a low gravel, and a high gravel. And, when it's time for her to hang on to a note for a long period of time, she seems to struggle, having to break the note up into a scat. I think Toni Braxton (in her hey day) was like many of the young singers of today (except for Jennifer Hudson) -- a mediocre voice, attractive face and banging body. Eye candy with a voice that's not bad, but it won't blow anyone out of the water either.

  • @gina72916 i dont think so. Toni has incredible range & her vocal ability was in the same league as Whitney, Mariah and Celine. Her low range is so extraordinarily textured that it rivals that of Anita Baker. Her head voice is incredibly strong that it allowed her to sing many "powerhouse ballads" that she has become known for. Songs like Unbreak My Heart, Spanish Guitar, Love Should've Brought You Home, Seven Days etc.. require power, range, and vocal strength in order to deliver such songs.

  • @cchllover anytime Toni Braxton is considered as being in the same category as those multi-range, high octive singers, I say we should truly agree to disagree about the topic.

  • @gina72916 well i guess u would be disagreeing with the many of credible music critiques who have said the exact same thing I just said. And just to clarify, yes Toni is a Contralto which is why she sings in such lower keys, but that has nothing to do with her vocal quality and vocal strength that is on the same level as those previously named vocalists *her peers*. Toni also has a multi-octave range which has allowed her to record such respected material. But agree to disagree O_o

  • @cchllover --- " her peers" -- please name me one credible music critique who have made that statement. Celine, Whitney and Mariah can go up and down the music scale without breaking a sweat (whereas, Toni sometime looks like she is struggling to make it through) And, when those women are at the top of the scale, it is almost glass shattering!. Toni was good marketing, but those women have/had staying power (their careers' didn't fizzel after one album).

  • @gina72916 LMAO! WHAT!!!!!!!! FIZZLE AFTER 1 ALBUM???? WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!?!?!?!? Toni has sold well over 60 MILLION records and she did that WITHOUT doing Pop music unlike Whitney and Mariah. LOL She sold OVER 20 Million albums on her first 2 albums alone with her self titled debut and the Secrets album! Toni has won 6 Grammys! LOL ok on that note now i KNOW for a fact u have no credibility. Good day LOL

  • @gina72916 (continued) yes it helped that she had a natural sensuality that emerged through her perormance but during that 1st LP Toni was covered up for the most part & her sensuality was actually played down so that people could focus on her vocal ability. Take the vision away and u still have the listening experience of what we know as Toni Braxton. Debra could sing, but there s just no way she could properly deliver any of Toni's signature ballads, whereas Toni could easily cover Damian Dame

  • haha everything done now has been done b4, check out her

    hair cut!

  • she died from a car accident, he dies from colon cancer. i don't think any of them were even 30 yet.

  • REGARDLESS of his sexuality, they were very talented, this song is beautiful and one of my favorites to this very day. It's very sad bot of them passed. I have the mp3 on my computer (if you want the mp3, inbox me your email and i will gladly share it)and I also have this song as a ringtone on my cell phone. Can we all just agree that we love this song and not fight?

  • Didn't know they died!

  • la belle music ;damian dame

  • I heard the lady in this group died, so unfortunate, they were really talented.

  • R&B duo "Damian Dame" (pictured above) consisted of Debra Jean Hurd aka "Deah Dame," and Bruce Edward Brodus aka Damian. They were the first act signed to the "LaFace," label by Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and Antonio "L.A." Reid. They were famous for the following hits, "Exclusivity," "Right Down To It," and "Gotta Learn My Rhythm." Deah would die in an car accident on June 27, 1994. She was 35 years old. Damian would die on the same day (June 27th) two years later of colon cancer.

  • @bluchicdotnet ^BLACK CELEBRITIES WHO DIED WITH LITTLE OR NO FANFARE-PART I:

    panachereport. com/ channels/ old_school_update/ BlkCelebsDied. htm

  • @bluchicdotnet ~ SO SAD

  • this still sounds better then music today.

  • It's so sad how they ended up passing away so early. They were a dynamic musical team. R.I.P. Damian Dame

  • he died in a car crash

  • @supr1man4600 actually she died in a car crash. he died from colon cancer two years later on the same day.

  • Damian said "Please Believe It" at least a decade before Puffy ever thought of it! :-)

  • throwback....

  • I forgot all about this song until I heard the remix on the radio. I used to love this song to death. That bass is bumping.

That little boy in this video is so cute talking about he has 5 girlfriends. You go little dude!

I didn't know that the artists were both dead. Live each day to the fullest. If God grants you another day, thank him first thing.

  • wow!!! that's all i can say.

  • I'm thinking many of the people are getting him confused with Intro Singer - Kenny Greene.

  • How do you know he was gay? Who cares!!

  • OMG I LOVE THIS! THIS TAKES YOU BACK JUST LOVE IT

  • this is sad she would've been about 53 now. she looks good here, and she would've looked good as a mature woman also.

  • very similar to "What comes naturally" by Sheena Easton

  • Ironically she died June 27th1994 from a car accident and he died from colon cancer on the exact same day in 1996 a sad time for R&B fans. It was heartbreaking that they were just getting started when they made this classic. RIP to them both.

  • I remember this being play on Party Machine all the time.

  • wasn't that halle berry from 2:35 to 2:45? well, anyway, may they both rest in peace. i still love this song.

  • LOL @ CHILLI. haha love herr

  • both died 2 young.

    this song is a classic!

    RIP :(

  • I was 11 when this song came out. I remember going to go by the single tape. They had a lot of energy. This was a fun song!!!

  • rip....and blessings

  • they died what a year or two to the day of each other. sad.

  • @BLAKPEARL69 he died two years to the day after she died in 1994.

  • I had such a crush on the girl. Oh man!

  • Does anybody no or has seen chilli from TLC in any of thier music vids or live shows?

    Thanks

  • I always did like this song and this duo they were gone way too soon and the freaky thing about it they both died on the same day two years apart. I wonder what would have been if they were still around....they were just getting on their way. RIP!!!

  • OH MY GOD!!....How old is this?? This was the cut back in the day!

  • Man I loved them! Everyone had their own style back then. Now we got this cookie cutter thing going on.

  • wonderful song and video. utterly perfect

  • I used to dance to this song like crazy...omg...liked the new jack swing beat

  • CLASSIC AND TRAGEDY!!

  • I have been trying to find this group. I couldnt remember the song.

  • Check amazon.com.

  • Damian Dame was gay? wow! I never knew - just thought he was a little flamboyant.

  • So what.

  • @Mixxersmix you can never tell these days cause so many guys are so "metro". But you NEVER can really tell sometimes

  • @tianitra it was a little surprising - at the time if you remember . many 80s -early 90s artists, were gender bending to get a look that might cross over to MTV - some were gay, some were not. Most of the British artists, were very good at it. Even mainstream artists like Human league - Duran duran - Wham - Cameo - Prince - Micheal - Madonna - Eurithmics were playing with theyre sexuality to be controversial, thats why I just thought it was a way to get attention

  • @Mixxersmix

Ur right, and not to for get the tons of groups like, metal and rock bands like Poison etc. with the long hair and make up

  • @tianitra Back in the early 80's "metro" was just called being "preppy". Like "metro" it wasn't a gay thing just a subculture of guys who were just neat and into being stylish.

  • @Mixxersmix

I figured he was though.....not suprising

  • @brittneyonline not much more that Debra was working as a car messenger and she felled a sleep while driving.

  • So sad they both died :-( Deah didn't even look like she was in her thirties

  • I don't care how this young man lost his life, I am sorry that he is gone. You don't have to be gay to get AIDS. He had a woman/wife/partner and a little girl. I am also sorry that Deah Dame/Debra is gone. I would have liked to hear more music from both of them! RIP

  • She died in a car accident and then he die on the same exact day that she did a couple years after her, he died of cancer.

  • We need a couple to come back on the scene with this sort devotion and chemistry. I loved this duo, they empowered more than just a money making union. You can tell that in their lyrics and performance. Remember Damian Dame.

  • the girl die in car accident years after they was drop from LaFace Records.

  • @RTBROWN69 what else do u know about them?

  • @RTBROWN69 what else do u know about them?

  • We do i can, not think of their name right now.

  • FOR MORE RNB VISIT MY CHANNEL!!

  • birab, YOU ARE AN IDIOT!!!!!!!! YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH......

  • i see some people have nuthin better to do than spread rumors and read rumors. better be glad Chili has better things to do than slap dumbasses with libel suits

  • this was one of the funkier tracks produced by Babyface and LA Reid... LUV IT btw this birab person is a total asshole...

  • If he infected Left Eye and Chili, how is Chili able to hold out so long? Is it the treatment and herbs from Dr. Sebi from Honduras who Left Eye was down there with when she passed in that car accident?

  • what ive neva heard dis befo..are u serious???..OMG

  • who told you that mess? hush...

  • Listen up loser!! instead of posting absurd idiotic comments, why don't you go stick your head up your GRANDMOTHER'S ASS and see if it fits.

    Damian Dame rocked!!! RIP

  • birab he died of colon cancer not aids idiot

  • Not one of them died of AIDS. The song is called Exclusivity not Promiscuity.

  • may they BOTH rest in peace.... ;-(

  • Rest in Peace Damian Dame

  • Girl sitting in the chair looked like Halle Berry

  • CLASSIC! Couldnt stop playing this tune back in the day. Love the rhythm on this track. Sad to hear about their deaths. Pity people feel the need to discuss aspects of their private as if it was fact. When they propably didnt even know them. RIP Damien Dame .

  • Wow I didn't know he died too. This was an excellent album and she was too cute.

  • "...I can give you nookie, you know nothing about." LMAO, but I loved the song and video.

  • Gotta love that new jack swing!Gumby haircuts, rayon shirts, guess jeans and air max.

  • excellent post

  • yeah the Guy was gay, but who cares, they sounded good and to this day I LOVE this song...sad they both died

  • @Sakkara1331 He did not die from AIDs.. This is how Shyt get started.. He died from Colon Cancer... The man had a wife and children. And she died in a car wreck two year prior to him on the same day.

  • @MsDJ007 WHY ARE YOU ADDRESSING Me?, I didn't say he died from AIDS and just bec he was married and had a kid, don't make him straight, There are plenty closeted ppl who are married with kids and the wife end up with AIDS, the only thing I said was regardless of his sexuality, the music was good, so why should it matter

  • @MsDJ007 This is correct. There is a video on here doing a tribute to 90s R&B stars who died and they were included in it. ( watch?v=5nU2bKEpJiE )

  • @MsDJ007 moped accident she passed from it says he died from colon cancer, but close friends & relatives said they're sure it was AIDS related... just a fyi (Wilkipedia)

  • @Sakkara1331 WOW!!! I had no idea either of them died, that's such a shame.... just like the lead singer of "Intro"...

  • @Sakkara1331 was damian gay? didnt kno tht.

  • Damain Dame was a great group ready for a long term stardom. It's so terrible that both of them passed away so early in life. Their music is still remembered!

  • the girl died in a car crash in 1994

and the boy died of aids(which they diagnosed as colon cancer)

  • Remember listening to this song when I was 10, even though it came out in 1991. I really miss the 1990s. They do not make music like they used to. This has substance, as compared to the RnB we have to listen to. Sad that both artists had to pass away at their prime.

  • I don't know man sounds like the same stuff to me...

She said.... "I can give you nookie, you know nothing about"

never heard Alicia Keys say anything close to that... Hmm...

  • This is the the very first group to sign with La Face records. They have the same home coming day different years.

  • I think they had that special kinda love, where one isn't much good, without the other. Their circumstance was so synchronized!

  • I remember them...But, i didnt know both was dead...sad..I wonder how dame died? and Carol (IF she has it) is suffering it's really sad that she has to live w/the reminder of him in that manner...

  • dame died in a car accdent and Damian did died of AIDS because i know his wife and she have it.cancer was a cover up.

  • I never heard of this group before. their two videos i'm seeing for the first time on YouTube. we never heard of them in our neck of the woods

  • you might be to young to remember this!

    They both are dead now!

  • No i'm not too young i'm grown. They never had any of their songs in my neck of the woods.

  • where are you from?

and if you are in your early 20's you not going remember this song.

and this song was # 1 on the R&B billboard chearts for 2 weeks back in 91.

  • dam...your neck of the woods must be deep in the boonies....

  • No not from the boonies

  • This man passed from AIDS and his Wife Carol has it now..Colon Cancer at 29..yeah ok..he was bi..his wife, is very sick and thin and frail. let's just leave it alone.

people need to stop lying and be truthful..

  • did this guy die in the twin towers on sept 11?? somebody told me he was in there. somebody let me know.

  • LOL!!!.......that's so wrong in so many ways!!!

  • oh good. i'm glad 2 hear dat.

  • no

the guy died in 1996 actually two years after his partner deah dame died(in that car crash)

    way before sept 11 happened

so somebody told you a rumor of a lie

  • I loved this song!

  • Peep Chilli in this vid?

  • Noisy neighbors Carla and Joe used to rock this shit too!!! They were the best noisy neighbors ever! I was not allowed to listen to hip hop and I was stopped from watching videos. I wish Carla and Joe had big screen in front of the window. I Really like this vid. Dame was fine. (that the man right?)

  • No Damien is the man Dame is the woman, who was very attractive.lol

  • FRAZIERBOI05: Her 'stage name' was Deah Dame (real name Debra Jean Hurd).

  • they were the first act signed to laface records

  • i also rock this album

  • MAN!I wondered if they both died the sme day!Because that is definitly a connection

  • Illuminati in music biz

  • no they didnt i knew bruce personally he died after she did he's from battle creek we were working on a play and the music when he passed away r.i.p!

  • yes

they both died within two years of each other

  • This was the shit. the remix at the end of the cd was off the chain. R.I.P. Damien Dame. i rocked this group back then. damn.

  • Really love this song. Played it alot with my 1st husband. To bad he didn't want to be exclusive. He wanted me and others

  • LOL. That was funny, lavonda12001!

  • Oh snap, that is so messed up, you are better off without him. ;)

  • this song was pumping back in the days.. even aussie djs played this.... now they play crap songs..

  • May they both RIP!

    I loved this song.

  • I used to love this song

  • I heard so many rumors about how he dies and if he was or wasn't gay. I personally don't care. This song was a Club banger...But he does have the same hair style that my sister used to rock!

  • Yep I keep hearing rumors that he died of Aids too!!

  • it was colon cancer he died from. our community (black community) thinks every black person in entertainment or in the public eye is gay.

  • This was when "New Jack Swing" first progressed from being mostly overproduced rubbish to maturity. As for most of today's so called RnB artists! Listen to the whole album and you might just learn what real RnB is!

  • I heard that.I love this song and the artist.

  • i consider this song as one of the best R&B songs ever.

  • The remix version sounds better which was also on their cassette/CD.

  • i totally agree with you...where do i find that??

  • a great song .

  • can someone post "virgin island" from DD???

    i love that cut!

was that even them i dont now FORSURE but i think that was DD...

  • TAY39: Yeah, Virgin Island is Damian Dame.

  • Wow that is so sad. I didn't know that they both died. So Sad!!!! I must've wore this song out for a year back in 1991. I llllllloved this song. Thanks for the post. I still have my cassette for this album.

  • me too

its so sad that both of them died within 2 years apart from each other

    so tragic

  • Man,I been looking for this song for years! Its so cool to see the video again,I love this song.

  • so sad

if only they was here right now

still making music and showing artists how its really done

so many good artists are passing away

    rip damian and deah dame

  • Right.

  • ....Thanx for posting , it reminds me of "91", ...cruising Roeding Park in Fresno,Califas & seeing the homies rolling on Daytons.....

  • Man I think about cuz all the time he should still be here doing music it seem like just yesterday when he was happy that laface put him on r.i.p. love always your lil cuz
