.. whether his was foriegn I can't say, re-issue, some odd promotional item I have no idea, all I know is he had it, .. I should have bought that and not the 2 a penny rred vinyl one and least I can rest easy knowing it was the same version as the black vinyl as I have both now. He also managed to get 'Don't Quote Me On That' promo 12" by Madness..grrrr.. and when it came out for like £2, look at the price now if you can get one, Don't ya just hate that ? lol.......
.. we bought the records as collectors items mid 80's and the shop had 2 copies in, 1 red, 1 yellow and we bought one each. You may need to hunt down exactly who and when a yellow copy was made, maybe German, Japanese, a reissue or something. All I can say is I have a red vinyl copy, my friend had a yellow one which I've physically seen with my own eyes and the black vinyl which I always been hunting for you have or had. The black version was the same as my freind had on his coloured vinyl......
..The red vinyl on the back says, the first triple b side record in recording history, 1975 A&M Records..1976 A&M Records Ltd Printed in England. The red vinly copy I have, and actuially have it here on my desk at this moment. My friend moved house, minidiscs'd his vinyl and sold it, then replaced his minidisc and gave me the discs. Playing his old minidiscs I then noticed his version wasn't the same as mine. Unfortunately he didn't minidisc the b side tracks. .......
Basically .. and I will note first I dunno if it was a UK release , the story is this. Mid 80's in A&S records, in Somerset. I bought the red vinyl copy with Do The Swim (A Side) and Stilettos And Lipstick & Dance That Cocktail Latin Way (B Side). My friend bought a yellow vinyl copy (maybe not a UK release). Both covers are Aquatic Teenage Sex & Squalor, Nell in the paddling pool, the back is red and yellow A&M 1976. I had the red vinyl and my freind had it on yellow vinyl..story continues..
Where did you get your info that this was on a "Yellow Vinyl" only release. As far as I know, this version was released in 1976 on black vinyl in the UK with a different version of "Stilettos And Lipstick" on the flipside. It was also released with an alternate version of "Fever" on the flip. (I own both releases). The only yellow release of Nell's I am aware of are the Yellow Vinyl releases of the song "Fever". If this version is on Yellow vinyl , Id sure like to find it for my collection.
the vocal is better on the original version.
