I'm really eager to try your recipe. One problem though, I can't make out the name of the flakes you said to add. It sounds like *Floradecelle*,but I've never heard of it. Please excuse misspelling.;-)
I have used portobello musrooms to fool people making them believe it was beef. I use it mostly to replace beef in some peruvian dishes such as LOMO SALTADO, amazing taste.
Love marinated portabellos. I marinate mine in olive oil, balsalmic vinegar, fresh chopped garlic, cracked pepper. Grill until almost done, top with goat cheese. Love the vids, keep up the good work..

Could you use a George Forman Grill???? its all i have.
ilovemaryam08 2 years ago
I use my foreman grill for portabellos all the time.. I prefer the "real grill", but, the foreman does a decent job... :)
salpi23 2 years ago
@ilovemaryam08 Most George Formans don't get up to searing temperatures. It needs to get to around 150 to 200 degree centigrade.
Try getting one of those grill pans and then place them over a gas hob (which usually gets to 300 degrees so it may work.

Maria, They look almost burnt. Is that what they should look like? I love mushrooms but do not have much experience cooking them. Tina

well, they are seared - but not burnt. Portabellas can take quite a bit of heat they are a very meaty mushroom.

Hey Maria -
Those look amazing, we served a sandwich at a club I worked at with similar marinated portabellas. So yummy, great video ;-)
