  • If I could go back in time, I would want to meet Karen carpenter. I'm 17 years old. She is the most amazing singer I have ever heard. I wish I could sing just like her. But it's impossible. Her voice was "practically perfect in every way."

  • kd lang's comments are so right on. And what a compliment to come from someone with a perfect pitch!

  • The Carpenters' music is wonderful and I've loved it since I was a kid - my mom listened to it and I grew up with the songs of the 70's...to me it's the best time for music!

  • Had such a huuuuge crush on Karen as a kid...still do...

  • I grew up with the songs from the carpenters ... Yes, rainy days and mondays always make me cry, RIP Karen

  • When I saw Dorothy Hamill's eye's tear up....mine did just like that. Man, that's tough and I'm a man.....

  • RIP Karen & Tony Peluso

  • How would Shakespeare have described Karen?

A $200 prize - and 15 minutes fame - for the writer who comes closest. No more than two lines, please.

  • at 0:09 how glam pop can you get with the go-go boots and matching outfit.

  • @lcd2201-yes, but if you've seen the video you know that she delivers the goods, unlike so many others who are play pop-star dress up but need auto tune to be tolerable.

  • Some great artists praising one very talented lady!!!

  • Genuine music by a woman with angelic voice, Timeless songs of yesteryears. It's hard to come by these days.

  • I nearly cried in the clip of Petula Clark performing "For All Me Know" as tribute to Karen right after she died in that one documentary.

  • yah, nobody sings like her...so perfect!

  • Cool. I love her voice also.

  • I miss you too karen. Always makes me cry when I hear We've only just begun and A song for you.

Thank you Karen for your beautiful voice and drumming.

  • Wow...how beautiful was Dorothy Hamill!

  • Thank you for posting this. I still miss her..

  • when you have overbearing, controlling parents at a young age it changes your life. We develop our personalities before we are 5 years old. The lesson that all you parents of young children should learn is be good role models because if you don't they will grow up just like you. we are all one. peace.

  • this video explains the carpenters, like no other.

  • What Did She Die Of..?????

  • complications from anorexia i think she had a heart attack i hope someone corrects me if im wrong

  • Complications from Anorexia Nervosa (an eating disorder where the person starves themselves for attention and control).

Her heart failed due to some 13 years of starving herself (a heart attack).

  • Very touching commentaries about Karen ,especially at the end you can see tears well up in Dorothy Hamill's eyes, and when I saw that tears welled up in my eyes also. Miss ya Karen. Thanks for sharing this video.

  • i loved the carpenters,so young to die, i loved close to you and many more

  • Wow!, just another comment if ya'll don't mind.. I've expressed how I feel about her/their music.. but to hear such greats here to also be in awe say's it all. The Dionne Warwice one especially.
