I remember going to a Saints game with my dad and uncle at old Tulane Stadium. I was still a little kid and Archie Manning was in either his rookie or 2nd season in New Orleans. The Saints were playing what was then the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals were an average team in the early '70s, but the Saints were awful. Archie was running for his life the whole game because the Saints offensive line was paper thin. I always admired Archie for being the only good player on a lousy team.
Although i am a die hard Mississippi State fan i think that this song is a cool song and Archie Manning was a good QB and people are still saying Archie Who in reference to Archie Manning.
I loved Archie at Ole Miss and I loved him with the Saints. Archie is the reason I pull so hard for his sons, especially Peyton, who is one of the greatest of all time. Archie had a hard life but God blessed him and rewarded him for being such a good man by giving him a wonderful wife, and 3 great kids. And even though he was not a successful pro, 2 sons won Super Bowls!
I'm sending this to Keyshawn for C'mon Man! just joshingBush fumbles? saw the snake on food network recently? Back here at THE WHO DAT NATION, The Who at The Superbowl in Miami, The SAINTS are COMING! BABA O'RELIIY FactorSAYS KATRINA IS HAVING A THROWDOWN IN MIAMI! Keith Moon and The Who Dats? We shall Kiln you in Tennis. WHO DAT ? MANNING WHO? ARCHIE WHO? GEAUX SAINTS!!! SUPERBOWL 2010. We Don't Get Fooled Again. Archie Who? Who Dat!
Thank-you so much for posting this!!! I remember those days and was very little then. I remember one of the only games Archie lost was to USM eagles and we could hear the eagles from 10 blocks away when they got in from the game. Archie was THE best quarterback--just hate he was mistreated in New Orleans by jealous team mates and Saints administration. That is why I was proud of him when he stepped in and made sure Eli was not in the same position when Eli was being drafted in the NFL!!!!
I well remember Archie and Ole Miss vs. LSU series. Does anyone have the "Archie Who We said at LSU" 45? I was a big Archie fan in high school in NW Louisiana when LSU beat UM 63-17. Several friends sent me copies of the record but over the years I have no idea what happened to them.
We had the 45 back in the day-- must have been 1969... Archie was a mythic figure here in Mississippi then. Its as if his very name was magic. The " 18 " jersies, " ARCHIE WHO" and " Super Mules" buttons... was great to be a Rebel when he was on the team
Way to copy a Johnny Cash song and put asinine lyrics to it. I wish I had of been rick rolled.

My uncle played DE for Alabama at the same time Manning was at Ole Miss. He said Archie was the best QB he ever faced.

Archie Manning - the man who was honored in Mississippi so many times by being named after a family pet. Now, that is a high honor.

Archie Who ....at LSU was written and recorded by my father. It is available on the LSU CD in the stadium gift shop.

I actually bought this 45 single when I was a kid in Memphis. While Peyton and Eli were great, Archie was a legend in the south.
