Bessie Smith always sang her absolute HEART out. Love her more than all the rest. This digital stuff is just a miracle! All cleaned up and lots of depth to the sound.

We have "The Divine" Sarah Vaughan, "Lady Day", Ella, "the Queen" ... But this is "The Empress" of the blues, Bessie Smith. Just great! This is "At The Christmas Ball", also in Springtime.

Thank you for posting such gems. How sad that only a few of us even know the names of Bessie Smith, Alphonse Picou, Oscar Celestin, Ma rainey and so many more. Sucha great loss.
