I remember downloading that leaked alpha wayy back in time..... maybe 1 year before quake 3 was released and it was so slow on my computer but the graphic were the best thing ever made..... especially the 1:45 part were you could see reflection of the room.

@treguzzardo you still can find it under the name "quake III IHV leak". Other test versions are also widely available on the internet.

guys i can give you a link where to download the first build of quake 3 its completetly functional and has all the weapons and sounds, also you can play with bots (not really smart bots)

Actually the Graphics is better! I played the Quake III Arena ATI IHV Leak, theirs Lightning-Effects, Green-Fog, Orange-Fog, the Health-Orb's actually reflect everything (the whole map basically) & everything else is better!

Also hogsy2009 grow up, saw your Comment on Beta Archive's, it was really stupid! Quake III Arena was 100 times better before ATI fucked it up!

ATI didn't develop Quake 3 Arena. They only leaked it, which had no effect on the games development.

ID Software developed Quake III Arena, ATI recieved a copy so they could test they're hardware with it. The copy that was sent to ATI was leaked.

Everything that was changed in Quake III Arena were design changes that were made so that the game was more entertaining. They were certainly not changed because of a leakage of an IHV copy of the game.

Many changes were being made to Quake 3 Arena before the IHV was even leaked. This can be seen if you look at the hud in the IHV especially! The health and ammo values are in the wrong places. Now if you are smart and look at some early screenshots from pre-IHV then you will notice why.

Oh and FYI:

It was a demonstrational build.

The maps in the build were for demonstration purposes and were never intended for the final product.

This Is way better than the New Quake III Arena! I mean look at the fucking graphics and the Lightning In the Sky! XD Pity they changed It completely! I wish I had that Quake III Arena Version! They were like "Oh, lets just make the graphics low, change it completely so we don't have to worry about The Grappling Hook, the graphics and lets just make It not as good"! Damn BASTARDS! THAT PISSED ME OFF! >:@
