I Saw you have the keyboard and the mpc 2000xl, i just bought one and was wondering how i could do that also to record in logic. i have my triton and fasttrack pro interface
I'm not even gone lie. If u are using all sounds and programs from logic it's cool. But if u start usin battery native instrumens and a bunch of other au's then it will freeze up occasionally. Especially if u have 4 gigs of ram. I only have two. But when I went to the mac store the computer froze when I openden garage and while logic was on. Lol. But the sound that come out of logic is second to none. Try it out at the mac store. Hit me back
@dushiin well i have a newer mac just check out my studio tour on my page i have a quick and a more in depth tour but anyways reason i asked is i saw you had the older imac and i just wanted to know how good it is because i have the newer ones and it's great no freezing or nothing
Well as soon as I sell some more beats I will be joining you on the upgrade to the new mac. Do u have the one thr just came out this summer???? Cuz they said the ram goes up to 16 gigs instead of 4 like the first alluminum mac.
Yea that's the one I want. I'm glad to hear it works really well. Cuz mine is old. It gets the job done bit sometimes I be having to wake it up. Lol. Keep me updated on them beats.
Dushiin can you please help me out? I have a very similar setup and I cannot get logic to work with my mpc like that. I get like a ms delay when im trying to record a sequence which clips my first kickdrum and its killing me. Do you use mtc or midi clock on logic and what settings do you use on the mpc?
I had these for for almost 5 years and they still run new. Great for mixing. Got it on ebay for $350 but they should be less than that now. Go check it out
man I'm trying to figure out how to use a midi program as a sound rack and use my triton le and mpc all as one... get at me if you might be able to help me. using the triton and mpc and protools alone is killing my sound quality and precious time.
your beat is dope dushiin but how did you sync the mpc with logic and the roland with logic i notice sequencer timeline moving when you recorded your beats.
I just did a review on an awesome beat making software on my youtube channel- there is a link there so you can check it out---- With this new software you can make some really sweet sounds really fast-- See my Video about making beats and my Roland G6
feelin the beat... I need to pick up another mpc off ebay ... I saw one for $300 and waiting too long to cop it! I'm a dumbass! I got a logic pro 9 beat making video up if you wanna check. ..
Thanx. They selling Low right now too.And since the mpd is like 400 you might as well get the real thing. Like Marvin Gaye Said. "Aint nothin like the real Thing Baby".
Do you find the timing on the mpc is better than logic is that what you like about it? Cause its just not the same playin in loop mode on logic it seemsl ike over a real drum sequencer.
You actually can make it the same. On the mpc you will see swing and that setting that say 1/4 - 1/32. Well on logic it says the same thing.
But on logic it has a couple of useful settings . Like Quanitize Strength. That makes the quanitizing tighter or looser. So i say on logic you can do more. But you just gotta know what you are doin. On the mpc it kind of just does it for. Which can be good or bad.
It depends on u. You don't need it of you have a software sequencer like reason logic or fruity loops. But the drums still got that real thick sound when it comes out the mpc. They only cost 400 on eBay so if u got the money go ahead. But I will tell u a program that u should buy BATTERY. It got some real nice drums and effects over 20gb of sounds
I have Battery 3, but whenever I play beats into the sequencer and save, when i re open it up the Cell Matrix is empty? But i agree they have any drum you could imagine, throw a short kik under it with a slight Bass line/ 808 drop and your good to go!
hmmmm. that doesny happen to me. even when i load up my own drums when i open it back up its there.
although if you use your own drums and move that folder it is in then those drums wont load you would have to manually put them in there. Battery always creats a path to find sounds. so make sure you dont move folders around. that will happen even if you move the battery sound bank.
i have the mpc and i dont use it anymore. I also got battery. if you get something like a maudio trigger finger or a midi drum pad, you dont need the mpc anymore. a new program out is motu bpm. this program is sick,
The mpd costs 300 bucks u can get it but jus. To let u know it only triggers notes. it doesn't Store sounds. If u get it get a drum program like battery or reason. That way you will have something to compliment your mpd. Other wise you would jus have a shinny new box. LOL
ay do you mess with the mpd24 or 32 at all? im thinking of buying it cause i wanna get back into beats since i dj now so i've been asking mad producers their opinion on it
Logic comes with sound modules drum programs and high end effect processors. Pro tools is run best when you have someone who knows it completely and has the money to buy third part plugins. Pro tools doesn't handle midi well
So if you are a producer logic suits u best . It replaced my Roland fantom and my mpc. The only downside to logic is that it is only for mac which really ain't a down fall more like a plus. Mac don't crash and lose memory or catch viruses like pc's do
Im not a pro but from what I have learned, Mac will serve you better for music production than a PC. and Logic and PT are both excellent programs to use, so pick either one!
good job bro feelin that beat

Connect the ins to the outs. And the outs to the ends.
What mpc do have by the way.
Next. Which is the most important part.
On the mpc go down to where it says drum1- new program. Highlight new program and scrol over till it says
1a device 01. Which means channel 1 on out put A.
It goes up to 16. After 16 is 1b device 01. That is all
u don't need to set any type of mtc or midi time code. U would only have to do that if u r using the mpc's time
note: the mpc only triggers notes
dushiin 2 years ago
Also I will be making a video for how to sync mpc with logic pro. Tonigh December 31.
