Bliddy hell cannot believe the arguments aboot this! Of course its Christy. Just listen to the prosperous LP. Were any of ye folk saying its not him actually born when he recorded this?
I can't believe the arguing about our beloved Christy Moore has got to be a little teenager with no remembrance of being little and changing, now tall and growing older still. Ah alas time passes for all of us I love everything I ever heard Christy do Slan everyone
@paddyward1994 Listen bud Im not going to bother my hole arguing this with you cos Im waisting my time. Read Leagues O Tooles book about Planxty, 'The Humours of Planxty' I think its called. Explains the whole recording process and everything in the pub in Prosperous in Kildare.
My name is cameron doneen. I guess my family dropped an "O" when we came over to America. Apparently my grandparents were treated extra nice when they went over to Ireland last year lol
@paddyward1994 Seriously bud, dont bother posting about stuff you dont know about. Christy Moores voice was a bit forced when he was starting off as he said himself the same way Damien Dempseys was when he was younger.
Suppose that big hairy fella who sat to the right of the stage of the stage when Planxty were playing wasnt Christy Moore either. Cos Christy Moore is Bald and wears glasses, right?
What odd comments about it not being Christy...Prosperous Album...Yes it was recorded again. Love this recording. National treasures both the song and the person.
@tomasjburke1 I suppose the hundredS of other 60's/70's vids of Christy Moore are dubbed too are they? Search Youtube for Only Our Rivers - Planxty 1973 AND Three Drunken Maidens Planxty 1973 - Then come back and apologise or never ever comment on a video you know nothing about again! Thanks!
1 second ago @ImagesByDavid It actually is. Recorded in 1972.
Christy "found" his voice around the time that Planxty reformed in the late 70's. Although he claims it was much later - mid 80's when the "Ride On" album was recorded.
I'm surprised it's taken this long for someone to mention it. Thanks for the comment.
@TheVillageRake in both it's not christy, simple as that. No need for discussion, i cant recall your mans name and especially during the Larkin number sure it's heavily dubbed.
best every version , what happened to the lad, he sauld out with the silly HAT days and save the world thing ,,,,keep to the auld stuff Christy ,,,one Bono is nausiating enough,, but thanks for the good stuff

I see the Cliff's of Dooneen every day.. This is a good version of the song. The Cliff's of Dooneen are in North Kerry, not Clare.
