  • lost my heart

  • perfect

  • Wow - I do not understand much about classical music - but this beautiful music made my day - great.

  • Wow.. I am totally speechless. He is just an amazing sitar player.. Does he live in the US? Where does he live? I suppose he has a school. It would be so nice to learn from him..

  • Desh can also be played in Monsoon season even though it is an evening Raga.

  • maestro!

  • I only wish that I could find words that explain just how listening to various Ragas of Classical Indian music speak to my heart...

I grew up in the West listening to various pop music, but THIS form of music and expression pleases me the most.

I am grateful to have EARS to listen to this and if there is music in heaven, then THIS is what will be heard!

Sincerely and THANK YOU for sharing!

  • Very beautiful and masterful. Can anyone please tell me who the artist is? He is a very skillful. Thanks for posting..

  • This is Debajit Chakrabarty, a sitariya from Kolkata. He's is from the senia gharana, and an up and coming talent.

  • Dear Ajrahi,

The artist playing Rag Desh is Debajit Chakraborty from Kolkata. A promising Sitarist and student of Professor Santosh Banerjee, a student of Ustad Mohd.Dabir Khan

  • I think it sounds like Raag Desh, which is not a moonsoon raag, but a night raag... am i am wrong? Anyway it's nice.

  • You are absolutely correct. This is raga Desh.

  • intense.......washing flows.....better than most "trance" music.

  • Wow...incredible! Please post more.

  • very nice, clean playing

    taans are super clean

  • wah! aapka haath toh bahut tayaar hai !

some off-beat stuff was awesome :)

  • Raag Desh - should be in Thath Kafi instead of Asavari.

  • I was always taught that Desh is in Khamaj Thaat.

  • kyabhaatai!! Bohut atcha!

  • Jealousy must be a hard thing to face, huh? When you die, are you going to proud of all this? (by the way, if you're going to use a racial epithet, can you at least not embarrass yourself by using it on the wrong people?)

  • He is reminding me of Pt.Nikhil Benerjee. What a promising young artist.Wish him all the best.

  • I was going to say the same thing, he sounds like he has been studying Nikhil Banerjee's sound a lot.

  • Wah! Nicely played. Keep it up
