@theelostriots9999 The quest mode isn't my style, since you can't play as the other characters, but the arcade mode is awesome. Come on who doesn't want to beat up a bunch of guys as Cloud Strife, Zack Fair or Sephiroth.

Did you know that after you kill the red dragon and the character you're using dies, when you go back with your second character, you can attack them and gain rediculous amounts of exp?

I got Koji to 65 then killed it, came back with Clair and started punching him, got her to like level 150 in 30mins.

VERY lame, but I do know of one ending that's slightly lamer. Check out the ending to a videogame called, "The Crystal Key." When I got the ending I just stared at the computer screen in disbelief over how bad the ending was...and how I'd never get my money back.

I played this game when I was really young. Unfortunately, I never got far. I lacked the capacity to do anything but hack at everything with no plan whatsoever. I died many times. I wish I still had this game, it feels like unfinished business. xP

I finally beat Hard Mode. At floor 19, i more or less beelined it to the lower floors on to the final bosses. The game ends abruptly after you kill the phoenix, and the "ending" pretty much says that Koji escapes alive, satisfied at the secrets he obtained or some shit.

I will download this game and play it again....i used to play Arcade mode for an hour each day,then Quest mode for 2 hours or so.When i played with other players,i also played mini games.Fantastic game.

Omg... 5:12, I was watching this whole video lamenting that I never got to beat this dungeon while I had this game as a kid, and I thought "Ahh man, I bet this guy already got past where I was at, I could never beat that stupid dragon thing, and this current dungeon is so unfamiliar." Then bam, you enter the boss room and its the same dragon.

Nostalgia, gonna keep watching and even though I'm not doing it, at least that dragons gonna die.

alternative ending. *koji kills the boss & doesn't use the phoenix down on clair. so he kills clair, fuck her corpse, & uses the phoenix down to be immortal as the highlander. he dives in a pool of lava & walk out of the lava just as a phoenix is reborn from its ashes. what a douchebag move he did. so he became a highlander. thee end.

i have 2 agree with you about the ending. it's by far the worst ending with a short paragragh. here's what a happy ending & alternative 1. *koji came in the room & went over 2 clair as she breathes and says i can't move. so he kicks clair's ass 2 lvl up as if he is in dbz time chamber training & lvling up faster. he kills the boss, & clair gave him a happy ending massage, so they fucked up sexually ever after. thee end.*

what happen if clair used the d wing after she killed the second last boss? would it glitch the game? since the enemies glitched through the walls as if they're ghosts same with items, for i can't get them. >_<" what's worst is when i drop items *happen twice* they vanish & same at the village. *sigh* i guess i played 2 long since i had 2 pay 2 save which it's retarded btw. it's not like i pay 10 gil to rest in a dirty motel with a ho to fuck, but mostly getting some shut eyes to rest. total bs.

This game is a gem. The fighting games of today should look at this and take notes. This in my opinion is one of the only "full" fighting games. The nostalgia is filling my heart. No homo.

I just played this game today / i hit whoever died first so much that at first I had clair at like level 15 and she ended up being over level 50 today. / I like this game Im going to start over on it cuz i didnt save b4 the ending with the bosses.

Everyone already commented on the ending, so I'll just say this.

I beat this back in the day and both my brother and I found that to be the freakiest version of the Phoenix ever. It's a shame it was kind of easy to beat.

Having beat the game with all the alternate endings, I have to say that Clair comes across as a bit of a git.

If you beat it as Koji but opt not to save Clair's life, he feels some remorse over it. However, if you clear the game as Clair and don't save Koji she doesn't seem at all upset about it.

For all those complaining about the ending, you should know that there are actually four of them.

Each character gets two endings each, depending on which one you kill the Phoenix with, and of those two, one is picked depending on whether or not you decided to use the Phoenix Down.

The only reason why the ending sucked is the fact that at the time to where they were going to add fmv's to it...they ran out of space. They ended up with these words, and a sucky ending. Now, if the game was made today...it'd be a different story.
