Something in this anime reminds me of the old school mecha anime back when i was in the Philippines...yeah we didn't have cable so we got like the Japanese channel for some reason with stuff like Voltes V and things like that

I've never seen a show with such spastic pacing before; it's like the writers are running away from the expository swaths of dialogue and so forth. Maddening to say the least.
