i am 16 turning 17 and i grew up in somerville massachusetts. When i was 14 i moved away to go to rhode island because i didnt like how the people over there acted. i loved somerville, i lived right around the corner from winter hill community school and loved it. although there may be some stupid people, there are still people over there who act accordingly. My brother jorge lives there, and sadly he is one of the stupid people.
I like what he has to say. I grew up during the Winter hill gang times Somerville is a hard place to grow up. Those of us that do make it out with our heads screwed on are to few. I am now running my own company and have 4 pieces of property (In Somerville)and a single in Belmont. FYI it can be done, it's a sucky road to go down and it is hard letting your "friends" go ubt it can be done.
Nobody at Somerville High ever asked this great kid what he wanted to do??? What are we thinking?! Adults need to take another look at what we are doing for our youth.
"It is well established that intelligence and thinking ability are far more complex than what we choose to measure on standardized tests. The high-stakes exams we use in our schools...reward children who have a knack for language and math and who can absorb and regurgitate information. They reveal little about a student's intellectual depth or desire to learn, and are poor predictors of eventual success and satisfaction in life." (Boston Globe, 9/2/07)

There are plenty of jobs available in Iraq right now. You'll earn double for working in combat zone.
