This ranks up there with the version Bruce did on Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's album "Will The Circle Be Unbroken - Vol II". I like the more upbeat tempo and I think both versions (the original and the bluegrass version) are very well done. You can't change the beat on many songs like that w/o ruining the song. Thanks for posting it. :)
I don't like this version much. The song really doesn't lend itself to the bluegrass treatment very well. The original kicks ass though. Not that these guys aren't excellent players.
The best recording of this song ever was Telluride Bluegrass Festival 1989....much better audio quality and with MANY special guests. (Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas and New Grass Revival) You can find the whole show on Internetarchive or just google: "telluride Hornsby 1989 ozzybeef" the site with the link is ozzybeef.
I gotta tell ya', the technical stuff is awful but the ambiance is off the hook! I would have loved to see this show. I saw Hornsby when the first couple of albums had come out and The Range were awesome, I know about Skaggs and can't imagine the two playing together. Thank you!
Ricky Skaggs can take a great song and make it better

No problem, glad you enjoyed it. Wish the video was better, I kind of had to keep the camera down, venue wasn't particularly friendly to taping :-)

@MrTrailltrader No, I'm saying I've written enough...if you wanted to find the show you would have done it by now.
